Quote from WazhereTheEpic1»My friend & I have had a Minecraft server for us to play on for about 3 months & the only complication was the firewall blocked java (New PC), which was quickly fixed & has been working flawlessly until 2 days ago.
When we updated server to 1.8, it worked fine for a while, & recently out of the blue neither of us can connect. When viewed in the multiplayer menu in-game the server keeps pinging, & if you tried to connect it says you timed out with no further information. Its not the EULA & the firewall didn't take java off public again (I checked). I should also mention we are using hamachi to connect to server. Any help is much appreciated.
If the server is hosted on the same computer as you are playing from, use "localhost" (or "127.0.0.1", they are the same thing)
If you cannot connect using localhost then something is wrong with the server itself. Remember the server has to be running for it to work.
