Are you kidding me? I love the 1.8 mountains. Some of the coolest terrain in prior versions were these mountains with overhangs and huge holes in them. They look awesome, and everyone would always try and claim them on survival multiplayer. As for the colour of the grass, I like that too. Honestly, the best thing the 1.8 update did was the new biomes (aside from temporary removal of snow biomes), and these mountains are a shining example of that.
In terms of looks, I'd have to say goldore. But when it comes to actual usefulness, my pick is definitely going to be iron. I mean, it's the most useful and abundant block in the game!
Hang on, does that simply mean that if you delete the DIM-1 folder in .minecraft\saves, it deletes your nether world, and then if you go into the nether again, it will generate new feature like nether ruins and stuff??? :unsure.gif: Please answer ASAP!!!!!!
Remember the neon green grass and tree leaves? and the ugly but always used cobblestone. Or the ladders being able to be 1 space apart? Or spawning in a snow world and saying OMG WTF *deletes world* unlike now when you just walk to a new biome... remember the secret friday updates and ALWAYS building your house in the side of a mountain. When pretty much EVERYONE played legit, there was no singleplayer commands or too many items. Yeah, i remember that.. and miss it so much.
R.I.P Minecraft Alpha <3
That almost made me cry :'(
I miss the good ole days of minecraft. And I realize it's not really the updates so much as everyone used to play legitimately, there were no modders or hackers, no griefing teams, no pvping douchebags. The only assholes we had to deal with were the griefers, and I think the game was all the better for it.
(if Notch ever starts adding revolutionary ideas instead of stupid **** like items you can't use for anything and mooshrooms)
It's not happening..... c:
To the OP, I like your explanation of how they're from the nether. The 3 block portal finally makes sense. Also, it's weird that endermen can't touch water or they'll die, and in the nether water can't be placed... another piece to the puzzle, perhaps?
I'd just rather have them be more like the weeping angels from doctor who, when you look at them, they stand still, but when you look away even for one millasecond, they teleport closer to you and closer to you. NOW THAT would be creepy. But endermen disguising would be kinda cool too. Maybe it would be better suited for a new mob though.
The only problems with endermen right now are 1) The sound, which will be fixed in 1.9 and 2) The fact that they're broken in SMP. I wouldn't change anything else about them, although making the ender pearls an extremely rare drop would be nice...
