Step 1: Explore until I find an NPC village.
    Step 2: Leave no survivors.

Based off of the common, neutral "Loner" stalkers you come across all the time in Shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat.

Oh, I'd help around, mine some stuff for the villagers, trade with the merc-RAID PILLAGE BURN-hants, maybe slay some of the monsters that are bothering the village...

What if in the 1.8 update there's going to be...Endermen mob-spawner blocks. In the Dungegons. Which will lead to underground Endermen that stalk you while you mine. My god.

It would help the creepiness factor if they were completely and utterly silent, with the exception of their footsteps.

    They can pick up fire.

    o.o

If that's the case then I guess I'll just sit down and cry whenever I see one come after me.

posted a message on I don't get it.
Let me just start by saying that I am an avid fan of horror games. I've played through Doom 3, all 3 Penumbra games, Amnesia Dark Descent, and Silent Hill 2, all of those games without even flinching. No reaction whatsoever. None.
Despite this, for some reason Minecraft is the only game thus far that has the ability to make me legitimately jump out of my seat every time a creeper appears out of nowhere and kerplodes my face into oblivion.

And you know what? I have no idea why. I've played through countless games that were designed to invoke the exact same reaction in me, all of which failed to do so, but the moment I play a game that was not designed to startle the player is when I become exponentially easier to frighten? It's rather perplexing, really.
Now I'm beginning to wonder if anyone else who plays Minecraft has the same thing happen to them.
