Who says Intersection cant be hostile:
(snowed here and school was canceled )
Dammit! It snowed here too and the road was slippery as hell, but school wasn't canceled here. I'm sad now
My new map is going to be hard, so is it OK if I use the "hostile intersection" idea too?
Also, here's my new map:
And I'm wondering if I should put this area in my map, I might not.
I'm waiting for somebody to take up the role of making not only the hardest CTM map ever made, but the most well made, balanced, and above all, fun Minecraft Custom Map known to man.
I just had an awesome idea. For the next dungeon in my map, I'm just going to make a giant slab of silverfish stone, and use silverfish & damage potions to carve out the area, then later I'll just change all the remaining silverfish stone to normal stone. Then I will have some interesting cave/room things. I think I'll try that as an experiment.
@Last CTM map
I think its weird to say "This is my last one ever". You never know, maybe a few months from now you may want to play it again. And If you want to stop playing CTM maps, then I don't see why you need one last map, instead of just stopping right then and there, and having the last CTM map you played be your last one. But dat just ma opinon.
Question for all:
How do you guys test balance of maps? I personally just make a copy of the map and play through it until I think its balanced, then I'll give it to someone so they can test the balance of the map.
Well, I you want to make a hard but balanced map, you as a map maker will probably have to work really hard. If you want to make an easy map that is balanced, that will probably be really easy. See what I mean? But I don't know any way to test balance other than just let other people do it.
I'm gonna work on my first area today, going on... wait maybe I'll go on ragirk's server.
Okay, now I can work on it... Hmm, maybe there's something new on Youtube.
Gotta go to Minecraftforums again... Okay now I can do the map...
But I'm so tired, I'll do it tomorrow...
For me, its more like:
I don't feel like working on this map today, I'll just start a NEW project!
I don't feel like working on this new project, I'll just start ANOTHER one!
Hmm... I'm feeling like making a new map. TSB will be finished later. It can wait... yep.
I'm going to start a new map now! (and I probably will never finish it, ever)
Play Pantheon. And if you feel really suicidal, on hardcore I mean hard.
And if you feel extra suicidal, play this nifty little mini-map: The Dancing Circle
I think just the title gives you a pretty good idea of what you will be doing.
UM UM UM UM UM UM UM UM UM....
...Guys, I think the universe is broken
...ITS RAINING IN THE NETHER
Maybe its because that area is a Mushroom Island biome, but its still in the nether dimension. Although I do remember that in the code, its the biome that controls weather, not the dimension... so I guess that makes sense now...
But that is really cool.
Congratuations on 1000 posts! I can't even begin to imagine how long you must spend on the forums.
Your a great person, orchard. I just want you to know that!
Yes, congratulations is intentionally spelt wrong.
Oh, and about the whole "The CTM community is getting old and slow" thing that everyone was talking about earlier. I don't know about that, but it seems pretty lively now.

AHA! Another suspect! But in all seriousness, welcome back.

But actually I have a good story for it, so yeah.

In the commands, type "give [name] 43 [amount] 8"
If you type 9 instead of 8 you will get a super-smooth sandstone block.

I think the OP has gone code again. Someone needs to fix it.

The fog is red near light, and black in the darkness. And yes, I'm in 1.7.
Also, I'm almost done with TSB, I'm working on the last intersection. But for now, you can just look at this evil-spiral-pillar-death-darkness-thingy.
