    These totally exist.

Btw, when the ghast shoots, it does not set off the ender Crystal, it also does not set off if the ghast is killed with it's own fireball (deflected by the player). My next map will be 100% Ender Crystal-mobs (If I make a next map that is).

Also, It actually causes no lag. And the creepers look like they are wearing dresses.

starting area, what are some tips. snip snip snip
    Thanks!

I like it. Try to make that waterfall more dynamic (make it split into smaller streams at the end instead of having that flat side of the water. maybe also put some small rocks poking out of the water like stones in a rapid river). You could try to make stalagmites sticking off the ground(with the surrounding stone curving along with the side of course, don't just make it super-thin).

I have 2 community questions today.
1: When it comes to constructing bases, you prefer:
A: to build my base from scratch
B: to already have my base base semi-built
C: to already have my base build
    D: other (please specify)

2: Did you enjoy the multiple starting area concept from Inferno Mines?

1: I like my bases built from scratch IF I have the resources, I hate to go scavenging for base-building resources. Also, if the semi-base is inconvenient, I won't like it.
2: I somewhat enjoyed the multiple start concept. I feel like the concept has potential and could have been done better though.

    Hmm...

I tired of the stars beyond very quickly. I feel it's just too annoying. I became very annoyed with the towers in the first area. I think if you're making a "ruined" area, you have to have some sort of semblance. Do you think someone would construct a building without stairs or ladders or even an entrance. Also, the map was terribly unbalanced, I was kind of thrust into a very difficult area. In your next map, you should fix this. :/

    (I don't really like lore-heavy maps).

A building that is dilapidated and ruined would not have stairs or an entrance, because those features have eroded away or have caved in. Just because the first area is difficult does not mean the map is unbalanced, it just means the difficulty curve is a bit different. For example, the start of Insomnia is very VERY difficult, but the map is not unbalanced. The lore is not mandatory btw.

Sounds very interesting. I wonder how the world would be after 3 or 4 people use it.

That would be difficult without any apples, or oak saplings, or even oak leaves

    ---Crash Report---

Crashed approching a labeled chest near the beginning of the first area (the snowy swamp one). Tried reopening the map two more times, only for it to instantly crash again both times. Since the crash report mentions a lit furnice, it may be to do with some kind of proximity trap, or it may just be a bug with the minecraft snapshot, but it also occured in the same place again after opening a fresh copy of the map on creative, so I suspect it is something to do with a trap of some sort which broke in the snapshot.

    Full crash report:

Ok, thanks for telling me. I'm pretty sure I know what this is. I'll update the map ASAP.

Seems I've come across quite a dilemma. Until I fix this, use 14w20a.

Hey, I just started playing TSB. I'm only on my first area (the second one, with the endstone and clay), but from what I've seen so far, the map looks great! It's really nice that you wrote out lore for the areas.

I noticed the abundance of resources in the area I'm currently in. There's mountains of coal, and trees made of iron and stone. It seems a bit generous

The generosity is a personal preference for me. The earlier I give you iron and stuff, the earlier i can up the challenge ;)

The Stars Beyond has been released!
It is a med-hard map with linear progression and uses the 12 records instead of wool. The map requires snapshots 14w20b and up, unfortunately. You can either use the latest snapshots or play it when 1.8 comes out. Check it out by clicking the images in my signature or by clicking heya: *link*
Images (in case you are too lazy to see them on my thread:
Finally its done after so many months! Sorry for the wait! also, Rubisk kinda helped so thanks.

Ok so... Ya' know that map I was working on? The Stars Beyond? I wish I could release it but the thing is... There is this crash in a critical area of the map(You crash right at the entrance to the last intersection) and I have NO clue as to why it is happening or how to fix it. If someone could fix it for me that would be great. I could give you the details, send you the map, you might be able to fix it, then you can send it back! As of right now I just cant release the map, or even add some finishing touches to the last intersection.

Ugh... There this weird crash in the map and I have NO clue how to fix it, or even how it is happening. I don't think I can release the map in it's current state, as the crash makes finishing the map impossible (its right in the entrance of the last intersection). I despise working on that map because of the pressure of removing that crash (I used to get another crash somewhere, which the beta-testers never seemed to get. But I still won't know if I still get that crash with this new one blocking my way). If someone could try to fix that crash for me, I could tell you the details, send you the map, and you can fix it and send it back. I just have no clue how to handle these crashes.

    As of now, I want 1.8 to come out. So many map makers have put their CTMs on hold because they wanted to add 1.8 stuff. I hate waiting ;-;

I didn't think It wold take this long for 1.8 to come out. Its been so many months since the first 1.8 snapshot :/

Hmmm.... No, I don't see anything wrong here. Not at all.

Oh yeah, except for Why does this exist? Who thought this was a good idea? Did anyone actually believe this would do anything?

It's been awfully quiet since the Strawberry Jam. I think it's time for...

    The Ultimate CTM Community Question!

Q: In what areas of making a map is your favorite thing to do? And what aspect is important to you? Would it be...
    1. Gameplay
    2. Aesthetics
    3. Loot
    4. Custom Monsters
    5. Area Design
    6. Storyline/Lore
    7. Other (Specify your reason.)
Personally, my favorite thing to do is creating customized loot. Once you obtain a lot of skill and do your studies, you'll achieve your goals. :) And I believe that gameplay is important. You want the player to have a good experience while they are making their way to their objective. You don't want them to feel bored just because there isn't enough difficulty, to their perspective. You want to provide a great experience for them and make them say, "Wow, this is fun. :D "

Also, this might help me out on my project. ;)

All expect for gameplay really. Although I suppose storyline/lore isn't my favorite either. Gameplay is important, but I don't enjoy that apsect of map making
