You got a bum card. Get an RMA if you shipped it or take it back to the store.

    Mine was this:

    Less than .5 Ghz CPU
    512 Mb RAM
Don't even know if it had any graphics card to be truthful
    100 some Watt PSU

That is all I remember. I would play games on AOL. I'm not that old, so my first computer, although it sucked, it was a lot better than somes. Mine would always crash...

My first computer, that I owned; Tangerine clamshell Apple laptop. Thing was amazing. First PC was a handmedown from a friend of my dad's. Came with ME, upgraded to XP as a christmas gift. Thing had an nvidia card, geforce something. AMD chip, 1ghz (or something). Had 128mb RAM, upgraded over time to 768mb. 140w PSU, and a whopping 20gb hard drive.

baked to try to evaporate the water, rice is a VERY common thing to do, very absorbent.

I havent heard of alchohol before? i guess its non-conductive? and kinda diffses the water?

Baking, possibly for reflow purposes can work but I doubt water caused soldering to come lose. Rice is the BEST choice as it's super absorbent. Alcohol (99%) is useful for cleaning surfaces but not for submerging. The screen may be glass but the LCD is still plastic so the heat and the alcohol can be damaging.

So I'm running the latest Multithreaded version and for some reason the selection "Fancy" under the fog setting is not selectable. My graphics card is an AMD Radeon HD 6950 with the 6970ROM installed to unlock the extra shader rows. I believe my card should be compatible...

posted a message on Minecraft 1.8.1 Server world lighting issue
Well I feel like a dunce now... :Sheep: Turns out, MCEdit (the program used to fix the world file in the first place) has a tool to recalculate lighting on selected chunks.

I opened the world file and selected everything, went to chunk control, and hit relight.

This has fixed all issues and any new chunks generated in my server are properly generated (as they should be!). Thanks for reading, now I hope this can serve to help others just in case!

NOTE: On larger worlds, it doesn't necessarily get it all as some areas still had the issue. but not enough to be noticeably bad.

i did that too and the same thing happened, and its the slow downloading screen showing all the files being installed

    The next thing I suggest is full reinstall of Java and Minecraft;

    1. Remove all minecraft related files except for personal saves/screenshots/mods/etc.

    2. Uninstall Java

    3. Restart.

    4. Download and install the correct Java version (32bit or 64bit based on your computer from here

    5. Restart

    6. Download the minecraft client and run/update it

    7. Replace your backed up files.

    8. Replace the minecraft.jar with the pre4 download (make sure you rename it)

    and report back.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO RESTART WHERE I MENTIONED IT

im removing the minecraft.jar and replacing it with the 1.9 pre4, but when i start up the game it creates another minecraft.jar while completely ignoring the 1.9pre 4. what i dont undderstand is, i had done this before exactly the same and it worked fine, idk what the problem is this time

youre making sure the new .jar file is renamed to "minecraft.jar" without the quotes right? When it redownloads the jar file, are you saying it comes up with the slow download screen that tells you what files it is downloading or is it just a quick flash saying downloading and then goes to the menu?

same thing happened. it seems like th game isnt even treating the 1.9 pre 4 like its even there, its not replacing it, just adding a new mincraft.jar

how are you installing 1.9 pre4?

it doesnt give me an option at the launcher, it just does it

Try deleting .minecraft folder (backup your save folder and texture packs folder and any others you have like mods folder and screenshots if you want) and go download the exe (or app for mac or jar for linux) and start up letting it update like normal. quit and replace your personal folders and then go ahead and install the 1.9 pre4 or pre5 jar file and launch it again and see if it goes through.

posted a message on Minecraft 1.8.1 Server world lighting issue
    Hello,

    So my issue is as follows;

I run a server on Windows 7 using the minecraft_server.jar and a bat file.

The server has had a crash recently brought my world to a stop because of an error in a chunk. In an effort to revive that chunk (specific region file) I opened it in MCEdit to repair the chunks that contained my users' creations. After successfully reviving the server and all the content in it, i noticed that all the water is very clear (eassentially the bottom blocks are being affected by the sun light. and all the caves are litup bright or dark depending on the day (again, blocks underground are receiving block lighting values from the sun)

This is a vanilla server. Is there a way to recalculate lighting?

Alright, released for 1.8! Should look pretty slick now with all the additions and finally got around to other stuff I wanted to do within it. Will be tweaking a couple times however as I haven't tested every last detail.

i thought i was like getting ddosed or somthing...i was just about to post another thread...... oddly tho one person was able to sill get in my server llol

Yeah no idea what's going on with the stability but it's a definite bug. It happened right when I entered the nether with another person connected in the normal world.

I know taking it into offline mode isn't ideal but if you implement a While-list it should still work, though someone could imposter a player on your server, it's a lot less likely to get a hacker.

And anyways for 1.8 to work you still have to have bought the game because 1.8 requires authentication by clients. So says notch at least.
