...Can anyone offer me any help? What's the actual recipe for the carriage door and medieval door? The one shown doesn't work, I can't figure out how to do it, and JEI doesn't show any recipe for it either..
I can't get the medieval doors to work. As in, I can't craft them. What's the actual recipe? Your pictures show just five material blocks and a standard door (spruce or oak, though the sprites look different) but that doesn't work. There's a note saying that in 1.7.something, you need to arrange the material blocks 'in five different slots' but you don't show the arrangement at all; I'm playing in 1.11.2, but no matter how i shuffle and arrange stuff in the crafting table it doesn't work.
In creative mode, the item spawn menu, where you can pick stuff out for free, can make what looks like a medieval door, but i can't plce it, and presumably this has to do with it not having information for the material blocks or something.. I don't know...
Halp?
Edit: I got the door to be placed through the item-cheat thing, though the default block pattern seems to be quartz. ... Still wanna know how to craft it, which'd be great for survival mode. So... still need help please...?
Why is it that when you plant tree saplings from the 1.8 version of the mod, they just become oak trees? I've tried this with jacaranda, fir, and willow saplings, with and without bonemeal.
This question's been asked like five times in the past two or three pages alone. At least glance at the forums briefly before asking.
Anyway, it's because the scripting for BoP saplings hasn't been implemented yet. In other words, not a glitch, just incomplete. !.8 version is not complete yet, they just release nightlies for it to show they are in fact working on it and making actual progress.
... On a side note, out of curiosity, I was wondering about how much of 1.8 is actually finished? How many biomes have been migrated, how many more there are to go, that sort of thing. Just curious.
Is there any word on how BoP affects slime chunks, if at all? I haven't seen a single slime yet. And slimes are kinda important.
Edit: I guess I can confirm for myself now that it does not affect slime chunk calculation, as I used a slime finder app to locate a slime chunk using my world seed, dug it out, and sure enough Slimes spawned in it.
Makes sense, seeing as how slime chunks are determined by a world seed algorithm, so unless that algorithm is changed slime chunks would function as normal. Good to confirm it though.
So, the recommended solution is to install Forge 1.7.10
Not exactly. Robijnvogel was suggesting staying on MINECRAFT version 1.7.10, not Forge. Forge has it's own series of version numbers, the latest of which for MINECRAFT 1.7.10 is Forge 10.13.4.1492, though that one may have glitches, the recommended version is Forge 10.13.4.1448
But it goes further than that, if you intend to switch back to Minecraft version 1.7.10, you will need to get the Biomes O'Plenty build intended for Minecraft 1.7.10 ...
All your ducks have to be in a row for everything to work, you can't just mix and match willy nilly. Compatibility is always a concern.
HOWEVER if you want to stay in Minecraft 1.8 to keep things simple, get Forge version 11.14.3.1487 ... That's the version I'm running, with Biomes O'Plenty, and it works. I was running 11.14.3.1450 same as you for a while, but upgraded specifically to run Biomes O'Plenty. Keep in mind, though, a lot of mods don't support Minecraft 1.8, and many that do are still in the process of being constructed or reconstructed to be compatible, such as Biomes O'Plenty, so they may have missing features or minor glitches.
Just remember, everything ties back to your minecraft version. You need to get a forge build that supports your Minecraft version, and the mod build that supports your Minecraft AND Forge version.
Hmm... odd note here... I haven't come across a single slime since I started using Biomes O'Plenty. Is this a known issue, that slime chunks aren't determined, or have I just been unlucky?
When I mouse-over any item or object from Biomes O Plenty, instead of getting a friendly name like "Dead Log", I get "tile.log_3.dead_log.name 235:7".
Is this a KI? Is there something I can do to fix this?
I play local single player (often open to LAN). Other Mods I'm using: NEI (1.0.5.82) and Iron Chest (6.0.99 build 749). I'm on Forge 1.8 (v11.14.3.1491)
I get the same thing too. It hasn't bothered me actively, but I feel I should mention it isn't isolated.
You should be able to dig out of it. It's just tough because you're treated as if you're swimming/flying, but I have never ever died to quicksand.
Well, then I guess I just suck that horribly, because digging with a shovel did nothing, and I died. Did I do it wrong? Is there some special way to dig with the shovel other than the normal way you're supposed to do on quicksand?
Is quicksand supposed to be a guaranteed, automatic death no matter what? At least, i think it was quicksand, because it looked like normal sand, but i sunk into it, couldn't move, couldn't jump, couldn't dig, it basically ensured death no matter what I did.
If it's intended to be inescapable no matter what, why make it kill so slowly? If it's mean't to be a guaranteed death, why not make it quick like lava?
Are any of my posts getting through? I keep trying to post a reply, and the site shows it as having been posted, but next time I refresh it's gone.. Though each time I do, the reply counter in the right hand side of the gray heading bar is one number higher than it was last time..
I'm just trying to ask for help and clarification on installation.. Is this against the rules?
This isn't the first time this has happened, I tried posting a bug report to another mod thread and it kept doing the same thing. How does one actually post a reply to these forums for real?
I'd be interested in a 1.8 forge port of this mod. Increased cost due to the nature of the tool is fine, but I don't like the arbitrarily increasing cost of multiple jobs.
Not sure if this is a glitch or not, but all the enchantments added by this mod are nameless on the enchanting table. There's no way to know what you're getting, you just have to pick it blindly and hope it's something useful.
This may be a stupid question, and it may already have been answered, and if so I apologize in advance but is Project red planned to be updated/ported for Minecraft 1.8? I realize it's still under development to recreate many of the features of Red Power and add to them, but even the very basic functions of just the wiring would be fantastic.
I recently returned to Minecraft after a long absence, and on looking around find that the majority of my favorite big game changing mods, like thaumcraft, industrialcraft, buildcraft and tinker's construct are not updated. I remember one having a specific note saying it would not be updated, but I can't remember which, and of the big game-changing mods I'd trade them all for Project Red. Houses should be wired with actual wiring, not sprinkled with loose pixie dust that'll blow away at a stray breeze.

[nevermind; sorted out]
