I purchased my ticket during the first batch at 4:30pm PST contrary to what was tweeted and has been reported that the first batch sold out in 3 secs. I got a confirmation email from Mojang for my ticket and the time stamp for the email is 6:32pm CST which is 4:32 PST and the attached pdf file, which is the actual ticket itself , has ordering info at the bottom of the ticket and says that I purchased it at "4:30pm"
Tickets were not sold out that fast because they were "pending". What happens is a person can click on the green order button and then it takes you to a screen where you fill out purchasing info. There's also a timer that tells the purchaser the have 15:00 minutes to complete their transaction or the tickets will be released to the next person for purchase. SO a lot of people just decided to go to transaction page and wait to decide if they really wanted to buy their tickets and ended up letting the timer run out. That being said if anyone still wants try to get their hands on a ticket for the last batch today should try refreshing their browser. Yes, I sat at my pc and hit "F5" to refresh my browser for 30 minutes. There were a few times when the green "Order Now" button showed and I clicked on it but I was too slow and the next page read there were no tickets available. If this happens, again refresh the page.
You will know when they're sold out when they don't have that pending message and it should read something like sold out.

Haha!, a bunch of entrepreneurs trying to get their business rolling, college students walking across the stage to get that hard earned diploma and a bunch of Minecon attendees, some of which with costumes, all under one roof in one day... what could possibly go wrong? or what could possibly go right?

Averages for weather in the month of November for Orlando,FL:
Precipitation: 2.17 inches (November is the driest month)
High Temp: 79F
Low Temp: 59F

I'm expecting fair weather so nothing cold related. So maybe bring a pair of shorts, jeans and some short sleeve shirts. If there is a "nether" party I would probably bring jeans and a nice shirt

Tell me about it! The Minecon discount wasn't that much of a discount. I'm staying at the Rosen Plaza Hotel and the price quote I got for going through the Minecon booking was $139.00 per night. The price for Travelocity bundled with round-trip airfare came out to be a little over $60 per night!

I think you should go here: http://help.mojang.com/
Good Luck!

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with some of your comments. Capes are suppose to be special, yes I agree on that, but Minecon is also special as well. Minecon is suppose to be an event where people come together to celebrate Minecraft. Getting a virtual cape is just a bonus. You can't put a price on sharing thoughts, ideas, experiences, social engagements going on at Minecon. To me that is more special than an intangible item that will probably be forgotten with time. What you can't forget will be the experiences you will have at Minecon. Meeting people who are passionate with Minecraft just like yourself. Heck, you might even make new friends that could last a lifetime.
If people can't find the extra money for travel, food , and lodging on top of the ticket then why in the world would they even spend $159.00 and some odd cents(there's a fee for buying thickets on EventBrite's site) for a virtual item that does NOTHING for them in real life? Where are the priorities in that?! If people didn't have the means to fully attend Minecon with all the costs involved then buying a ticket shouldn't have even crossed their minds.
I honestly don't think the Mojang team puts on Minecon to see smiling fans that want a cape. They worked really hard to make this game possible and a cape is NOT what defines Minecraft. A cape shouldn't be the highlight of all their efforts from spending late nights coding and testing to probably missing some important events in their personal lives as well.

" Visit minecon.mojang.com to book! Tickets are $150 each, 3yo and under get in for free and don’t need a ticket! "
Also, I don't know how you found fake sites selling Minecon tickets but I just did a Google search for "Minecon" ... and guess what? There were zero fake sites selling Minecon tickets on the first page of results. You got a right to be upset about not being able to go to Minecon but I really don't think it's fair to be making up excuses because things didn't turn out the way you want them to be.

It's alright, and you're right about people getting away with it which sucks. It could be worse in the the grand scheme of things. Oh well, no hard feelings

Thanks.
It kinda sucks cause you're only attending Saturday and not Sunday and the ticket is for both days. I have read and seen posts and videos of where Minecon attendees got a wrist band for the entire event so I'm thinking it would be almost impossible to give the wrist band to someone else.
They should consider selling single day passes. I know you can get a refund for tickets because there is an option for it under EventBrite's My Tickets menu but then you lose your chance to attend too on Saturday.

I was using that murder scenario as an example just like you were using the lint for getting the tickets but I was using the example to show how saying you get tickets free from a sale of something different would-be considered fraudulent. Its a forum, a forum to discuss things... It might not relevant to you but I'm just saying that this kinda stuff can happen to anyone and could cost them thousands of dollars. Yeah I know, I sound like some kinda lawyer with all the technical information that is probably going a bit overboard but it wouldn't hurt to inform people about it. Nobody likes to be ripped off in any way shape or form.

It's a loophole and also it's good evidence for a prosecutor to convict someone of INTENTIONALLY trying to sell a ticket. It would be a stupid defense because it shows the intent to trying to sell tickets but now your're covering it up by saying they are free if you buy X item with it. For example, a spouse hires a hitman to kill their other spouse. Well the hitman kills the spouse but the other spouse didn't actually commit the murder, however, they are still guilty under the intention to commit murder. There are laws for against committing a crime and there are laws against the intent of committing a crime. The seller has willful knowledge that they can not sell their ticket at such a high price or sell it at all so they give it away for free with the purchase of another item that can be sold. If they didn't have knowledge of that then why would they not sell the tickets directly instead of X item and including free tickets?

I realize that, but more importantly the statute 817.355 states that even the possession of having a counterfeit ticket is illegal. I'm not saying that the following will happen but what if someone is so desperate to buy a ticket from an unofficial source and they get a fake ticket or tickets, then show up at the event? I know most places might turn you away but what if they question you about it and decide to take further actions? I just wanted to provide the information out their to people who are considering selling or buying tickets outside of EventBrite. What everyone chooses to do with the information is up to them. I totally agree that it doesn't do squat for anyone outside of Florida but people need to research and look into what they're doing and realize the consequences.
