My Pentium 4 machine is getting single-digits in vanilla 1.8 and thats with a Geforce 6600. So I'd say this is accurate. 1.6 ran at nearly 60FPS and 1.7 gets around 40FPS. Looks like they are working toward optimizing for the new computers with fast procs and integrated graphics :(

I consider this pretty inaccurate. The progression of newer versions of the game performing worse on systems is just progress of a game, this is going to happen each year a new game comes out. So drawing that correlation makes little sense.

1.8 actually boosted performance for my work PC which is older, integrated, and far weaker specs. (Or at least the pre-releases did, official release doesn't seem to help much, but I've already established they really screwed up AMD+1.8) Where as my new, annually upgraded CPU+MOBO+GPU took a performance hit in these recent versions. (It still performs more than good enough, but I definitely was hurt more than helped with this crap.)

Also Minecraft doesn't put that much load on graphics processors, its a heavy CPU function. So that part of your assessment doesn't fit, sorry.

Just a friendly tip from a server owner:

"Reset yearly" and "Good Builders" generally don't get along well. Building something really good in survival takes quite a while, and to know it will only be erased shortly after is going to drive away top level builders most of the time. Just a consideration for your wants in your community

I got tickets. And I am so happy. I can't wait! Are you happy for me? I am flying down because it is not near Boston. The two in my party and I were on our computers and one of us got in for tickets in the first queue. It was awesome! We were so happy and I was just beaming with joy. Does that make you feel better?

What a jerk off. And a brony? I thought the general concept of bronies is that they weren't complete dnozzles like this...

how did you get these figures? I tried to see if I could recruit a few adults on here that just needed a server to play on but it didn't seem to work. So I recruit outside of the forums like friends. Right now we have 4 of us currently playing and 2 people long term afk. I

I recruited here and on reddit w/ success. I also made connections w/ people on a relatively cool public fan server for JL2579. When the previous admin started to turn it to crap they all moved over here. It takes a lot of work to find good people for a server that is a small vanilla one. One BIG tip to weed out crap: Require TeamSpeak/voice interview. I was able to save time and energy by doing this.

That is my page I used to recruit, but it looks a LOT better now than my first work. Formatting and being thorough is very good at weeding out people. Also make sure to check their name w/ the ban link servers page provides and ALWAYS Google "NAME"+"minecraft" and you'd be amazed at what that turns up. You can find a LOT of age differences between their posts showing that #1: they aren't the right age #2: they are clearly going to lie to get what they want(thief incoming alert there).

posted a message on Names on tickets to get in?
    Quote from I am Robo_Taco

It will be fine. I doubt they are going to check every ticket. Plus you have the same last name I am assuming. It isn't worth the hassle to Mojang to argue with people at the door. Seriously I would not worry about it. It was mostly a scare tactic because tickets can be forged.

I don't entirely agree w/ your logic of don't worry about it. If you take the time to set aside plans to attend an event, then show up at the door and because it isn't in your name, that's going to leave a very bad taste in a person's mouth.

This person is at least trying to preemptively address a problem, kudos.

At MineCon 2012, there was definably more boys than girls, but I was quite surprised at how many females did show up, tho I really got the feeling there was more 'parents' than 'players'...

I never really heard any kinda of problems between the gender divide, if you watch the Costume contest there seemed to be a lot more girls than boys taking part in that.

The big surprise for me tho was I really got the feeling there was more 'parents' than 'players'. Or maybe just as someone at the older end of the Demographic I was just surprised at how many 'adults' had shown up, specialy when all the public servers I've been on seem to be full of 'kids'..

Adults have access to "disposable income" on a much more frequent basis. Most adults look for private servers removed from the typical public nonsense I believe.

Hey Phaze, just noticed on your image you list IP:PORT. Any particular reason the port, that's the default one so the IP would just be enough.

    posted a message on [1.6.2] VibeCraft Community Servers {Vanilla SMP} | {Creative} | {Hexxit SMP} | {Creative Snapshot}
Hexxit server is officially up and running. Apparently Ender Bows being used will crash Hexxit servers, that was a lovely surprise.

Also we are looking for a server rename. Currently the rename seems to be drifting strongly towards Contingency. Suggestions are welcome, bonus points if you can find original names that would include reference to The End or Void, but we do not wish to use a generic title including stuff like -craft or anything like that. Have a good day!

UHC recording went good Friday night. UHCs1 was a blast, we are planning UHCs2 only because I want to refine our process. After reset it will be 2 UHC seasons per 1 6mo Vanilla season. Skis scripted us a nice custom plugin to handle commands and make my life easier.

Also we opened our Hexxit server today to entertain us for a little while.

We are also helping aid CubeKrowd moving forward with JL's plans, so we'll be around there quite a bit.

A lot of our members are already planning for 1.7 builds, so stoked. We opened our snapshot server Thursday and started exploring, the new gen mechanics are very, very interesting!

There is a link under the first ender crystal picture that shows how to glitch them out. From there you just piston push them to where you want them, I believe he demonstrated that in the video as well. Its more time consuming than anything else and when glitching them out is slightly high risk bc they can explode. (I had 17/20 saved, 1 blew up from accidental arrow fire, 2 blew up in my face. After we got 6 in place we just detonated the rest because we are resetting in 1.7 and were not going to build any further here.)

All the lava falls you see around there are where those crystals were originally.

posted a message on End Tour Vanilla SMP
This isn't exactly a let's play but more of a tour from our build. I couldn't find a better fit than this though, so... Anyway we spent a lot of time(Around 6 months) on this end project and recently completed it and opened it up for a public tour. Had some YT guys come by and really liked it so I thought I would share it with MCForums. Just going to say this now: The ender crystals are 100% legit vanilla, link is below the picture on how to do it. I hope you guys enjoy!

My private server spent about 6 months building this End. We were lucky enough to have a few YouTube guys visit our server during open tour over the holiday and they really liked our end. I thought I would share this album with you guys. I am going to say this now, since others seem to feel this is cheated, the end crystals are pure, 100% legit vanilla. There is a link in the album on how to do it. We worked insanely hard to make the nicest end we could dream of! I hope you guys enjoy it!
