I'm still keeping the non brick-defied version as an alt for those who like the normal solid block look.

    -snip-

The more faded borders for the bricks, or the crisp sharp one?
I also do realise I missed a line devide for one of the bricks. XD

This is also why I don't mind the pattern error, as the brick form breaks it up enough it don't stick out so much.

I think the crisp version looks better. More bricky.

Can someone help me solve/give advice on this tiling error? I can't seem to do it for the life of me. Excuse the strange colors, I half black and whited it to have a bleedthrough effect between my colors and the biome colors.

Looks good from what I can see, except that the foliage colors/biome shading may need to be altered. It clashes with sand very badly.

Every pack has its own unique look, so I can't really describe it without seeing the rest of your work. From the looks of it, your pack may complement something like this, but less saturated:

For 16x, I suggest making the grass side overlay and dirt separately, then putting the grass overlay on top of the dirt afterward.

(also, for people who are not verticity, how does that look)

Yeah, that's what I'm looking for..

I've never tried a 'pure' pack until now (purposefully vague meaning), so I'm not too practiced in that regard. I also believe that Dirt and Stone are the most important textures, so yeah.

As for making the dirt first, I understand completely. I just overlay the dirt instead of overlaying the grass.

What do you guys do to texture dirt? It fuels my anger.. I can't seem to get any colors right - the texture itself is easier than that..

I was doing all fine & dandy with grass, until I got here..

Looks fine, my main gripes are with the main menu logo and the mushroom texture.

Mushroom texture looks like it doesn't tile, but it's a bit hard to see, so excuse me if I'm wrong.
I also think that the main menu logo doesn't fit the rest of the pack at all - It's something I'd more expect from a simplistic pack, not an RPG pack.

"Killing me" Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Also I think Swamps are really ugly to begin with and look worse with my pack, but it does give me a chance to show off trees.

(Please note that vines have yet to be textured)

A good thing, of course. Wouldn't say it like that if it was bad. That would just be mean.

I think your swamps look fine, and definitely better than the default ones so far.

Mushrooms look a bit flat, though. I guess there's not much detail you can add to them without making them ugly! :P

To create a Language file, extract one of the ones from the bin's Language folder - I'd recommend using the en_US or en_GB ones if you're English.

Assuming you're on Windows (no idea how to do this on Mac/Linux), you should open it with WordPad. I wouldn't recommend Notepad for this as Notepad can usually jumble the code together. Since Windows shouldn't recognize the filetype by default, double click it and select "Select a program from a list of installed Programs."

It should look like this once that's done:

As I said previously, we don't want to use Notepad. Hit the down arrow to open the "Other programs" list and select WordPad.

After clicking open, it should open in a window similar to this:

Everything behind the equals symbol is what is referenced for every piece of text in the game. Simply modify these to whatever you'd like - I recommend using CTRL+F to search the document. I'd also highly recommend changing the Language name, reigion, and code. Make sure these match up to the filename once finished.

Sorry if that was a bit confusing, I'm not too great at making tutorials.

First thing that comes to mind is that it's flat. That's not a good first impression - needless to say, you should work on that.

At the moment, your styles contrast with each other - some textures are very detailed (stone brick) and some are solid colors (door). I'm assuming you're looking for a style similar to the default one; try to use proper shading (no pillow shading!) combined with noise (not the filter) to create the effect needed. Look around in Texture Discussion or the Tutorials section to find some good tutorials - I'm not an amazing instructor, trust me. :P

I'd completely redo the door, though, at the moment it's just a recolor of the default (as far as I can see). Try to mix it up a little bit. :)

Your dirt has a tiling error on one of the sides, I believe.

Your colors.. they're just killing me. <3

Very vibrant, but I'd personally tone down the sand. I'd also like to see how swamps currently look, if you wouldn't mind.
