Why do you want to join this server?: Brand new to multiplayer. Gotta start somewhere...
Have you read the rules and realize that any griefing or stealing AT ALL is logged with the logblock plugin and you will be banned if it is reported?: Yeah. I wouldn't do that even if it was legal. It's dishonorable...
I agree wholeheartedly with the addition of marble as a construction material.
Unfortunately, at the moment both Snow and White Wool exist and can be used a construction blocks to imitate white marble. I doubt that marble would be added when those two similar-looking materials are readily available.
In any case, it should be found in large veins mid-way below sea level. Broken wit a pickaxe it comes off as several "Marble Chips" which can be arranged into 3x3 to form a complete marble block.
Technically, bugs don't have to be a physical object. They could be made as a visible phenomena unique to the jungle Biome, identifiable as bunches of tiny pixel-cubes (as swarms) that buzz around just above the ground.
Alternatively, they could be treated in a similar way to long grass, and "grow" in that specific area, but are lost when the ground underneath is destroyed. No items can be obtained from destroying the bugs.
I agree with sandstorms, but not with continuous damage. It would prove too difficult to survive without constant supplies for new players, even for a fully equipped character a half-heart every 10 seconds is unwanted damage if one is roaming the desert at night. It'd probably be significantly more annoying to code as to deal damage based on whether a character is wearing a headgear while outside during a sandstorm.
Instead, i'd suggest having extremely dense yellow-orange clouds move along at just above sea level to about 25-35 blocks high, applying to surfaces in the same manner that rain does. The high density clouds hinder a player's view to about 5-7 blocks in every direction and could be used in peaceful mode, while for survival the clouds could effectively conceal the presence of monsters until they're dangerously close.
The addition of a cart to your horse suggestion also has merit. It could be used as a mobile storage chest allowing you to transport items between bases.

More like TNT + Electric Brain = Double-Powered TNT. Lightning Creepers have a bigger boom than TNT, so it seems to follow on.
btw...
"Boom goes the Dynamite!"
