Yep, in fact Jeb, who is now the lead dev on MC, is more mod-friendly than Notch for one, and for another, Jeb has actually stated that he is making official mod support a priority right now.
At first I was afraid these snapshots would be as annoying as the pre-releases but he's doing a great job. Jaffas to Jens.
well i think but when the full minecraft comes out but people say notch is removing mods gamechap had a video about it but he may so cross your fingers

Well considering notch is no longer lead developer of minecraft i think that's total rubbish. Besides one of his goals was to add an official modding system to make life easier for modders.
As I thought I am in a minority that is facing this problem. Thanks to Jens for atleast in my eyes making it an official bug. http://twitter.com/#!/jeb_ (You are looking for the conversation between Jens and @lennimon96.)
1.9 pr4 performs a lot better than 1.8.1, and Mojang are now in a "feature freeze" which means that from now until 'release' they are only working on finishing-up existing features and optimising the existing code, so expect performance to improve in future versions. In particular there's an issue in 1.9pr4 that Jeb identified that causes CPU usage to shoot through the roof which will be fixed in the next official release.
So what I'm saying is: be patient, performance should get better in the upcoming patches. In the meantime you can use MCnostalgia to downgrade if you really need to :smile.gif:
I can be patient. All the best mods are 1.7 anyway. s for you.
ok... try 1.9 pre-release and see if that has the same issues or not.
The reason I don't have 1.9 right now is cause it's still a prerelease and bukkit won't support it. I run a server for me and my friends (only the 4 of us) so I can't upgrade t 1.9
An interesting point, however the only call to openGL 1.3 is multi-texturing and Mojang have downgraded back to openGL1.2 for 1.9 because of how many people were effected by it (more so Apple Macs with Integrated Intel Graphics Cards), so if it is that, then 1.9 will fix it.
My head hurts... Explain it too me in small words. Been fighting with 1.8 since it's release and would like a reprieve...
Mojang doesn't have the resources to hire all the testers and purchase all the hardware for all the potentially different configurations around; No company can test that broadly and is generally the reason you see MMORPGs these days having Beta tests too so that the users can test it for them... I'd advise using debug mode and seeing if memory usage is high. You can go into debug mode using F3 and memory usage appears in the corner. I unfortunately thing there is a deeper issue with Java itself which Mojang has no control over that maybe the cause of your issues however.
Might be a configuration issue, 90% of memory issues with minecraft are in fact configuration issues with the host machine. If you raise your own thread people here maybe able to look into it for you, the number 1 reason for out of memory issues is using 32-bit Java on 64-bit Windows.
You need to read the OP before you presume things. In the OP I said that up until 1.8 I had no problems what so ever on this machine. The occasional lag spike maybe, but not the "Old faithful" OOME. And no my memory usage was never high. It would always float between 200 and 400 megabytes. It never used all of it's memory yet it ran out? I call ******** on that.
Sadly, having Windows 7 does not help with this problem. I have the same issue with MC crashing from Out of Memory errors every 15 mins or more often than that, and I am running Windows 7.
This looks like a memory leak to me.
I'm not calling Mojang lazy, ok maybe a little, but should a working product mean more than a pretty product? I dont care about the end, the npc villages with squidward, i dont care about added blocks or enchantments or any of that. They are too busy turning a sandbox game into a godamn rpg. I just think it's funny that the code is so garbage that they let the modders fix their problems. End of rant.
Optifine helped with the graphical errors but I still got my out of memory error at around the same time. Some people said that switching to windows 7 would help but I dont want to pay $100 dollars to play a $20 dollar game. This is just getting ludicrous. And mojang is too busy making new content that nobody asked for to fix their screw ups. I haven't been able to play minecraft for a decent amount of time for 2 months now and im getting sick of it.

Someone mentioned that 32bit java cant use more then a gig so i removed my allocation but I don't remember seeinganything change in the debug.
