Anyone know what I can do about the nether being ridiculously dark? Shadow settings don't seem to effect it since they're no actual cast shadows and I couldn't find anything in any of the composite files. I did read the agreement, I hope its ok if some one could at least point me in the right direction. Thanks!
Currently using Vibrant shaders HIGH (v1.13) on MC 1.9 with Optifine 1.9Pre1
Whats the reason for using magic launcher? I am also using MC 1.7.2 Forge 1013 and Optifine HD C2 and everything works fine...maybe you try a Setup without magic launcher, since MC 1.6.4 it's very easy to install optifine and forge together
Alright, I got it all to work: Forge Optfine and Magic launcher.
I'm now using Forge 1013. I first had to install Forge using the vanilla launcher and start the game once (I also delete my versions folder and all config/profile files before doing this). For magic launcher I hade to go to advanced and add "-Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true" in parameters. Make sure to set the enviroment to your Forge version. Lastly Dynamiclights is in the mods folder NOT the coremods folder.
Hopes this helps anyone else trying to get Forge and optifine to work with this awesome mod!
I have no idea why I can't get this to work. I'm using Minecraft 1.7.2 Magic Launcher 1.2.5. Forge 998(installer) and Optifine HD C2. I've gotten it to run without optifine; FML says 12 mods loaded, but in game nothing works. I've tried deleting the config files I've try the toggle hotkey: L (which is really sensitive, have to tap it for 1/5 of a sec). Would really like to get this awesome mod working any help would be greatly appreciated.
Just going to quickly chime in. Planet Minecraft is still down. A new download link would be greatly appreciated. That chat bubbles mod is a must have!
So to prevent my sunken ships from floating, i have to cover them in stone or something? No, that would look horrid, and there is no point to it. No support, too many negatives against your one (weak) positive of no sand pillaring from ocean floor.
So, of course- screw what anybody else wants. Because you think it's silly, clearly it doesn't matter. Glad we cleared that up. Also: 'meme' images are against the forum rules, I believe.
That's not an argument.
Some other problems:
-Flowing water. If you break into a ravine, will any abandoned mineshaft the water touches cause the blocks to magically float to the surface? And if so, how many blocks are effected? only planks and logs? Fences? Doors? Fencegates? Wooden Stairs? etc. Will wood blocks only ever "float" through still water?
Just my opinion on what looks nice. That's all.
Wood blocks only ever "float" when they are completely submerged in still water. I only mentioned logs and planks. I'm open to suggestions on what other wooden blocks should or shouldn't be included. Perhaps stairs too. Maybe doors should break into items if there is a source block above them? But I totally understand if people hate that last idea.
You've got a point, but couldn't it be only blocks you place?
That's how leaves work. There is one block ID for tree generated leave blocks and another ID for leave drops and player placed leaves. I have no say in that. This would be up to Mojang. Like I said in my OP and above. Wood blocks only ever "float" through still water, so I think it wouldn't be necessary.
I think it's a good idea, it would save time from having to bob along the surface while placing blocks. I would limit it to just logs though that way you can still build a structure under water made of planks.
To me a wooden structure under water looks so silly. xD whywouldyoudothat.jpeg
About the having to pillare up to the surface to make a house, use lily pads, they can be placed on the water. Then placing the rest of the house is easy.
I am not sure of the usefullnes of this, or the funn of it.
You got me there. But I'm still holding on to the "It would be so cool" argument.
I did search and didn't find any other threads. I can't believe this hasn't been suggested before.. If it has please post the link.
A simple and logical idea, logs and wood should float. In the same way sand falls to the ground, logs would do the reverse and float to the surface.
Flowing water would NOT make wood float. Only when the wood is completely submerged will it rise to the surface.
Lava represents flowing water:
-----Flow---->
..........^ does not float
OR
-----Flow---->
<--- will not float
<stops at surface
......^ Only this floats
Q: But wait! When I remove the wood it will leave a current!
A: That's not a question... you're wrong anyway, but its not your fault. Water has been fixed in the latest snapshot so that source blocks can be made when there is water underneath water. No currents!
Q: I think it is kinda pointless.
A: To answer your question yes, you are stupid (jk Jack). A point you say? It would make building on or above the surface easier. No need to build a pillar all the way up from the bottom of an ocean and then have to remove it. Also it would be really cool...
Q:This will destroy everyone's builds!!
A: You're really bad at questions... For the most part this wont ruin builds like boats and what not. Any block that does not float or wood that has already reached the surface will stop wood underneath. Example:
Imagine this is an upside down sand pillar. The air above the water is its ground. Since the top log is "On the ground" it supports logs under it. This shouldn't break most players boats. This can also be done with any block:
Here a block stops the log from floating further.
Suggestions, critique and constructive feed back is welcome!
Skimmed thought the first page and I totally agree and support the idea of adjusting Cow drop rates. Cows should be tweaked away from being a food and server mainly in their 2nd and 3rd proposes as a leather and milk resource. Something like
Beef: 0-1 and sometimes 2
Leather: 2-4
Edit: looks like I messed the "remove beef" and "pigs take carrots that only come from zombies rare drops or villages to breed"
I've always been a highly efficient farmer so carrots or wheat to breed animals is not a big issue. Though when starting a new world carrots maybe hard to come by at first.
I still really love the way it works out. You farm wheat and eat mostly bread your first days then kill some cows and get leather armor and a little beef. Later find a village and start a pig farm and get lots of pork. There is balance there.
The "remove x" discussions really need to stop... 'Just remove it' isn't a good, helpful or well thought out suggestion.
I hate the half assed unfinished things they add but never really finish or polish, like:
Village generation (some are really ugly and messed up)
Villagers (they don't actually 'do' anything but stand around and go in and out of houses... Could be better)
Trading
Currency/Emeralds
The Nether (A separate dimension should have as much content as the overworld. imo)
The End
Some of the art is pretty bad. (the hopper, brew stand item sprites in particular are ugly )
Peaceful mode not being playable (You can't get a lot of items or much XP)
Ponds. EVERYWHERE. Even the desert.... Most are ugly too.
I also see Hoppers not getting complementary "pipes" of some kind and being really hindered since vertical item transport will still be very difficult.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head...
I Agree, I think that they should be removed Unless there is more added about them...
Why remove them? You can easily ignore their exists all together; they are not an important part of the game. I think "I don't like x, so it should be removed" is a really poor 'suggestion' people make a lot... They should be more constructive with their feed back. Please.
