I have tried, I also put localhost as the IP and got the same error. This is a centos dedicated server btw.

You put localhost in the config? Not sure what you said there.

"Package java-1.5.0-gcj-1.5.0.0-29.1.el6.x86_64 already installed and latest version
    Nothing to do"

    Do what I said.

    Quote from flyintacoz

I am trying to run my bukkit server on a centos dedicated server. But I keep encountering this issue, the IP field is empty, the minecraft.sh file has all correct permissions (777) there is nothing running on the port 25565 (and tried different ports also), and there is not another server running. I disabled my firewall and iptables also.
I would appreciate ANY help, I have tried everything for the past 5 hours. Thanks

Never seen that before. Try getting your IPv4 from ipconfig and put that in. See if it helps.

Like lord said contact your webhost. Also to add to that, you should try mchost.org (Free minecraft short domains) Example: test.mchost.org You can get a shorter address with this.

ok, the thing that you seem to not be aware of is that PEX require negative nodes to be listed before any node that would otherwise grant a permission. this is because PEX only checks permissions from the top of the file, down; and will stop as soon as a matching node is found.

in your case, lines 119 through 121 grant global 'allow' for item hold, have and pickup (116 craft too)

so PEX will perform the check, and wont even get as far in the file as where you have negated those perms later on.

embrace the concept of negative before positive, and perhaps then you can sort out the other 'non building' issue too

grant default the negative versions of the diamond armour, and right under that add 'modifyworld.*'

then, to the group that inherits defaultgroup simply grant 'modifyworld.*' to negate the previous negatives so from then on diamond can be used

Currently, Minecraft requires OpenGL 1.2 which nearly all graphics cards support. However, in 1.8 or 1.9 it will require OpenGL 2.0. This drops support for a great many graphics cards, unfortunately. What specific model do you have? This program will tell you what model you have and what OpenGL version it supports. http://www.ozone3d.net/gpu_caps_viewer/

citricsquid posted a message on FTAO ALL STAFF: Password security
Proper password security is imperative online, especially when your account has permissions that can cause disruption to a website and cause damage to users. As part of your responsibilities as a staff member here you must exercise responsible behaviour towards computer security, this includes:

    • Always use secure passwords: long and unique password for every website
    • Never download files that you're unsure about that could be stealing your password
    • Notify administrators the second you believe your account may be compromised so that your access can be temporarily disabled (if you can't get access to IRC, email [email protected])
    • Secure your system using anti-malware and anti-virus software, and frequently scan your computer
    • Never share your password with anyone
    • Email security your email address can be used to recover access to your accounts on most websites, make sure that your forgotten password questions are not answers that can be found online, use 2 Factor Auth where possible

Proper password security means that every password is unique to the website that you're using it on, and it's long enough that it cannot be brute forced. If you use the same password on more than one website you instantly make that password insecure.

Password managers are excellent pieces of software that every staff member should be acquainted with, some of the most popular password managers are LastPass, KeePass and dashlane.

At the very least I require that every staff member uses a unique password (not used anywhere else) that is at least 10 characters long for their curse.com account. Ideally you should be using a password manager for all of your passwords, but that's a personal choice, as long as you have a unique 10 character minimum password for this website you're okay.

Please everyone change their password now if it is not unique to curse.com or is not over 10 characters.

    THANKS.

Firedale posted a message on F-Menu's - Need help!
It sounds like it's actually your laptop's doing.

Some laptop's designate the F keys as laptop-affect keys (for adjusting brightness of the screen, the volume, etc) and default to using those instead of the FKey functionality without a specific button press.

For many laptops, that's the Fn or Function key, but it sounds like yours is set to use the Shift key as that alternate function.

You can test to see if that's the case by looking at your F keys and seeing what alternative actions they're used for, then, outside of minecraft or any real program, just press the Fkey without pressing any other keys.

If it does the alternate thing (like adjusting your volume or brightening the screen, whatever the key says it'll do to the laptop), then your issue isn't caused by MC at all, but instead caused by your laptop choosing to make the defaults for the F-keys the alternative use.

If that's the case, you'll need to check on how to change that default use for your F-keys to make it work properly. That can be done on the internet concerning your laptop manufacturer.

If that's not the case, and when you press the F key, it does what the Fkey should do (like pressing F1 should open help if you're just out in Windows), then the issue may be with MC itself and someone else will need to respond here, as I'm at a loss.

If worst comes to worst, you can probably get away with playing 1.7.2 paired with Optifine, it still joins most servers.
