Every forum I have ever seen has an off-topic section. And I have been to a lot of forums. Tradition, I suppose? It's just a space to discuss things that are not relevant to other sections.

Having two accounts means buying the game twice. If you want another account, you need to buy Minecraft again.

It used to way worse several years ago, at least in my memory. Spammers are all over YouTube. YouTube comment sections are cancer, especially for Minecraft Youtubers. These people spam Minecraft YouTubers because their audiences are packed with gullible children who will unknowingly fall for the scam. Sad, but there isn't anything that can be done. Perhaps blacklisting certain words might be a temporary solution, but people will get around it.

Nope. It's the sad reality of the current terrain generation.

Since 1.7(or whatever version it was) the temperature system was implemented. Which means hot biomes and cold biomes won't spawn next to each other. This often results in seeing little biome variety in the world, short of traveling several thousands of blocks. I've seen worlds that are 3,000 blocks of desert/ocean in all directions, or cases where the biome you spawn in goes on in a never ending chain for over 10,000 blocks in a particular direction. What you are describing is not out of the ordinary.

Jungles are uncommon, if you are unlucky, you may not have one anywhere even close to your location. If you don't mind spoiling the surprise of finding new biomes, use Amidst to look at your world or post your seed here.

I agree that having to eat all the time is annoying, but food is way too easy to get. It doesn't take much time either. I can easily get a full stack of cooked beef on the first day if I try. The problem is not the food, it's the entire way the hunger system is set up.

I love this idea, but I think it would be tricky to get right if implemented. The game would have to distinguish between caves and other areas(as pointed out by BlackAbsence.) The echo should be subtle, so the creeper explosion doesn't blow people's ear drums out. If not done right, this addition would be nothing but an annoyance.

This is kind of common sense stuff. I would of expected more from a tutorial. It's pretty much a requirement to have a popular server before for giving advice on obtaining one. Or else it doesn't make sense to make a tutorial about it.

I can't even play anymore without music or something or I get bored. I listen to the news, podcasts, my favorite video game music, J-Pop music, or just random videos in my youtube feed.

I spend probably 30% of my day in a daze. I take what I daydream about and make it into fantasy novels, I write in my spare time. I've come up with so many fiction characters, they almost feel like real people to me as I've thought about them everyday for years.

Agreed. I have been really questioning why I am still following this thread. If someone doesn't already agree with what the alternate point of view, nothing will ever convince them. That is one thing that is explicitly clear. Hence for that reason, we are all still here talking about the same thing we were talking about months ago in a loop.

And it will continue for as long as people continue participating. Same arguments. Same comebacks. Same outcome. You can't make someone like something they don't want to like; vise versa.

Right, and I sort of see why it was done, well... sort of.

In a boat, it might take 20 to 30 minutes to cross a bad example of an ocean, and that sounds bad, yes? So the reason for the change sounds good, but consider the alternative we got. With the new aggressive climate zone paired with no oceans (I refuse to call a massive, singular land mass with glorified lakes as oceans), instead you have to actually walk, jump, and what not, and also for way, way, way longer to see any real variety. At least with the old generation, when you were on land, the lack of a climate feature added short term variety. Now, even on land, you have that long trek to find something, and now it is mandatory AND takes even longer. That is way worse to me. I agreed the oceans could maybe use some slimming, but not to disappear.

Respectfully, your assumptions about the fishing system balance is just not true. It would have been considered a bug and "fixed". Mojang does NOT consider it a bug. It just another farm, like all the other farms in Minecraft, that can be automated.

By your logic, my wheat farm that uses a daylight sensor to auto harvest every 5 days is an exploit. Using villagers to re-plant the wheat is an exploit. Setting a redstone alarm clock to remind me to give the villagers seeds every 15 days or trapping villagers to make an iron farm, and redstone to sort iron from poppies is an exploit, Bud switches to harvest cane and pumpkins, and redstone devices that collect blaze into a kill chamber is an exploit. I hope you see the point.

Redstone is there for the explicitly to allow creative users to build devices that improve game mechanics and their Minecraft lives as they see fit. Minecraft is, by design, dedicated to allowing users play their own way. If that means auto farming of any and all game resources, that is a choice users can legitimately make.

Re-doing the game's textures was overdue to happen eventually. Because so many people have worked on this game, most if not all of which are not dedicated artists, a lot of the game's textures are inconsistent with each other and appear to follow no rules or art style other than being pixelated. The game started out with a dude screwing around making a game, then once the game actually became a game, Jeb joined and added his own stuff, who's artstyle is different from Notch's. Then Dinnerbone, TheMogMiner, and many other people made textures for the stuff they added which are all different from each other, and as of now the game is a jumbled mess of textures that follow no rules and don't go with each other.

Now it looks like they finally have a developer whose job is literally to make pixel art to crack down on the textures and get a consistent artstyle finally. Ultimately, we're probably going to see a lot if not most of the textures in the game altered in some way or redone completely.

One thing to keep in mind is that people aren't going to like these texture changes merely for the fact they're different. Whether or not the pixel art is better or worse is irrelvent, because all it takes for someone to complain about it is for it to merely be different. Old birch texture is objectively crap in context of proper pixel art and looks like someone stapled wallpaper with a Zebra pattern to a tree, but people have been looking at this texture for years and are attached to it. That can't be prevented and is simply something people will have to get over either by accepting change or using a resource pack.

They aren't fitting because they've only retextured a number of blocks. Once every texture in the game is changed, everything will match for once.

No, not really. Minecraft's textures are an embarrassing mismatch of textures that follow no rules and were clearly designed by multiple people who are not artists. Nostalgia cannot not cover up that fact.

This actually doesn't make sense. If the current artstyle is a mixture of different texture work in the first place, why would this matter? Mojang has constantly added new textures that didn't match the "old style". Did people specifically re-texture Jeb's work when it was clearly different from Notch's style? Not really.

More importantly, what exactly is the "old artstyle" when exactly 7 people have made textures, each with their own different style?

From what I understand, the thing that all the versions that got unified playing have in common, is that they run using the Bedrock game engine. The java edition on the game is hobbled together garbage written by Markus when he first worked on the game. The 2 systems are completely incompatible, and work in different protocols altogether, from what I've seen. This break in protocol means it's effectively impossible to unify games running the legacy engine with games running Bedrock, and doing so would require adding a middleman to all Bedrock servers to try to convert between legacy and bedrock protocols both ways, which would be extremely taxing. The only other solution is to rewrite the Java edition to use Bedrock, which is a daunting task.
