I spawned in next to a village. I saw that this village had only one house and one farm and only one villager. I don't know what, but I suddenly felt so sad because he was so lonely (I KNOW I KNOW THIS IS A GAME), so I spent my time building him some things to make him feel less lonely.
The first image is the original village, the second is a picture of the lonely villager, the third is the sheep farm I built for him, it was originally supposed to be a house but I thought the design would suit a farm, and the fourth picture was a house I built for his neighbor, so he has someone to talk to.
Any thoughts on what I can do to build in this village to make it more cheerful?

This feature is coming in the next update.
I'm not 100% sure about this. I may decide to add it in some form, but I may not. If I add them, they will probably be dark with red eyes (like the shadow mobs that are planned to be on the Forgotten level when it is added) and about the size of Ghasts.
Unfortunately, it does not. In the mod, you need to have a Void Charm in your inventory to get through it.

Apparently it is called dye, but the metadata value is 4. Because of this, the correct command to get Lapis Lazuli is "/give @p minecraft:dye <amount> 4", where "<amount>" is the amount of lapis you want.

The reason this is currently not implemented is that to avoid a base class edit to ChunkProviderGenerate, I made a modified chunk provider and gave it a new world type. However, I could probably replace the noise generators (which re-adds the farlands) using reflection and an event handler (which avoids most of the issues of a direct base class edit and only changes the parts I need to change). Since I have received this request a few times, I will try to do this very soon.

Other than more bug fixes, the next planned changes are to add the Mutation, Forgotten, and Evil levels (maybe not all in one update)

To survive in the far void, you need to have a Void Charm in your inventory. It will nullify the void damage (in fact, it does the same for the Near Void, but because you need vesperite and tenebrium to make it, you must have already passed through the near void to get it). It is crafted with four Tenebrium Ingots and one Vesperite Gem.
Edit: The fact that it doesn't work without the void charm is deliberate, so that even if you have a way to get past the damage, you still need a void charm to proceed.

This works, but it has one issue. /kill @e[type=!Player] gets rid of ALL entities other than the player. This includes minecarts, boats, paintings, etc. So if you have any of those in your world (and you don't want them deleted), you may want to do this instead:
1) Set difficulty to Peaceful.
2) do /gamerule doMobSpawning false
3) Use /kill commands to kill each passive mob type individually (e.g. /kill @e[type=Cow] kills all cows, /kill @e[type=EntityHorse] kills all horses, and so on). You may want use the wiki to look up the entity names because some are a bit different from the ingame names.

The mod is called Deeper Caves. The link to the thread is in my signature.

Great idea!
Just saying, most of the mod links on modlist.mcf are actually links to the mods minecraft forum thread, not a direct download. So you will need to either get the modlist.mcf devs to add a "direct download" field or use your own system to keep track of download links.

People stop saying that every single update ruins Minecraft.

Yes, but at this point, I'm planning to skip 1.8 support and update to support 1.9 when 1.9 is out and Forge for 1.9 is available.
