When you click in the reply box below there is a light switch icon in the upper left corner. It will flip the editor to rich and give you all the editing buttons.
The different colored woods were added in 1.2.4 Upside down stairs and slabs came in 1.2.2. 4J has said that the update releases will go from 1.8.1 to 1.2.3 so we all assume we'll be getting one or possibly both features with the next update.
Sorry, I just assumed you did due to your XBox gamertag showing. Actually I'm not sorry, why are you even here if you don't like this version of the game?
I'm curious, what is the point of playing Minecraft on Xbox? It's obviously alot better on pc and it's not that hard to rebind the keys to a controller?
There are no real servers on the 360 Edition. In order to have a persistant world you have to keep one xbox up and running it at all times, just for 7 other people to play on it. Some people are probably giving up, some peoples xbox's are giving up.
It just depends on whether or not you want to go tearing great big holes in your stronghold. Look on the bright side, you got xp for all that smelting.
That's true too. Forgot about permissions. Make sure all players have permission to mine blocks. You can hit the back button (select on most other controllers) to check permission levels during a game.
It takes about 5 seconds to chop wood by hand, and if you move the cross hairs off of the block it resets to undamaged (that lat bit is true of all blocks). Keep the trigger held down until the block actually breaks and make sure you aren't bobbing up or down or jumping.
Lag can also affect breaking blocks but it usually causes them to reappear and then break a second or so later.
They've been one-shotting me since the game came out. I do have to point out that I never wear armor though. Armor will mitigate some of that explosion damage.

Here it is, from September. It looks like that still may be the plan.
