Before making a clone, i would ask for his permission.
hmm... interesting, thank you.
I already have code to do said effect myself, though, I only need to tweak the particle amount and speeds a bit (1.12.2 though)
First bit of advice I can give when working in Java:
Onto your problem:
The method is expecting a ResourceLocation and World object, and you're giving it a String and WorldServer.
For the first agrument, new ResourceLocation(EntityList.getEntityString(entity)) will fix your compile error, but I don't know if that would actually work. This ResourceLocation business is new to me.
For the second argument, you need to find the world! If you're in any sort of entity handling method or event this is usually passed in as an argument, so you can grab that.
1. No, a ResourceLocation is a unique identifier for the Entity, and the result you get when using the string ID is different.
2. A WorldServer is indeed a World as WorldServer and WorldClient are subclasses of World.
3. yeah, most IDEs have those auto-complete features, not only eclipse but also for example Intellij Idea. In fact, they're all pretty similar.
2. Like I said, it's my first try modding (I might have wanted to start easier but I really want this mod to work, motivation is motivation? ^^") so how would I go about doing that? Any tutorials, or any link that I should look up?
Well, it's not that easy, go learn some general OO-programming / java first before attempting to create a mod. in the meantime.. have you tried this mod yet? it seems to be kinda the same. https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/unforgiving-void
iirc you can disable the mod name in waila, too. If not, use NEI, it has a feature to do exact the same as Waila, but without mod name and no more information provided than the block name.
yeah, but downgrading from 1.10 is way easier than upgrading from 1.7.10.
Also I'd suggest YOU update your game to 1.10.2+, as I don't know of ANY mods that are available for that particular version ONLY..

1. what mod is it? just because it's open source doesn't mean you're allowed to update it.2. you need to get the resource location that is mapped to the entity, not some string.browser messed up and posted twice, sorry xD

good idea, useful to find out if a player is hacking or to get a better understanding of what happened if you died too quick in combat

OpenBlocks can spawn a gravestone at y=0 if you fall into the void

Have you actually looked at the github repository? the mod is on 1.11.2 already so no need to update it.

You should probably add a short video / animated GIF that shows the full effect

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html
install this and set it as default JDK in your environment variables. (add it to PATH and point JAVA_HOME at it)

yes, currently you will need java 8 specifically for developing forge mods.
