Just thought I should drop in and give a follow up to my application. This server is stable, friendly and still got plenty of room. As we all know it's hard to keep servers populated so if you're interested in a vanillaish experience you might as well help us make this one grow.

This is obviously going nowhere. If you wanna leave your PC wide open to get infected then more power to you but you're wrong to encourage people to browse the internet unsafely. I can only assume you hold this view because you have a website with terrible ads and you're mad because people ad block them or you're incredibly naive about the dangers of malware and viruses. Either way you're wrong.

This actually is a good way to go with the topic. As far as I know (correct me if I'm wrong), webmasters choose an ad service/publisher when putting ads on the website, and the publisher places the individual ads.

As far as I know that's correct. So any site with terrible, obnoxious, dangerous ads doesn't care about the the visitors experience they just care about money. That's another reason why it's important to use a blocker - hit them where it hurts most and force them to care.

Changing the channel is the equivalent of going on another website. Leaving the room is the equivalent of, well, I don't know, leaving the room? Blocking ads is not the same as either of these. Apples and oranges, attack what I'm saying, not what you want me to be saying.

You have an obligation to put up with them because you have an obligation to let people who put in the work that you are benefiting from get the money they have a right to. You don't like it, boo hoo. Life must be so hard for you, what with you not being able to just get everything you want with no regard to the detriments to anybody else. How selfish.

But of course, that's just how I see it. I'm not going to dismiss your post as complete nonsense, unlike you, am I? This being a debate and all. I think it would benefit the both of us if we gave objective arguments, not 'well you're just stupid' or equivalent.

Blocking ads is the same as fast forward, leaving the room, ect because I'm using their service and denying them the exposure they desire. The difference is tv ads are not putting my tv at risk. Disabling my ad blocker puts my PC at risk, even with anti virus and malware protection. I am under zero obligation to put my property at risk just so they can make some pennies from my visit. If they want more ad revenue then they(not the site owners really, advertisers in general) have to step up and do something to make me feel like it's worth it. Because of their predatory and reckless behavior customer confidence in them is nearly rock bottom. That is not our problem it's theirs. Until that changes no one should feel any obligation to browse the internet unprotected. In fact it's morally wrong to suggest otherwise. You seem to be advocating for people to throw caution to the wind and potentially lose their PC or hundreds of dollars just so some anonymous person can make a few pennies per visit.

Again, no obligation. If a site cares they can block people from using the site if they have ad blocker just like cable companies can disable FF in their digital services. Then it's my choice if I wanna do it or just move on. Ad companies causes this problem and it's their obligation to fix it.

I didn't dismiss your entire post as nonsense I dismissed that part I bolded. I didn't call you stupid either. I just think your idea that anyone is obligated to put their property at risk is stupid.

You are using their website, you should have no right to block their source of income to keep yours going. You are making use of their product, their hard work. They have so much more of a right than you do.

Complete nonsense. That's like saying we should have no right to change the channel or leave the room during a tv commercial. If a company wants people to check out their ads they have to give us the motivation to do so. For example if I see a Little Caesars commercial I'll watch it because they've shown me that they are sometimes entertaining. If I see a commercial for a car I change the channel, leave the room or just ignore it because 99% the time they're so bad they're insulting. Same goes for the internet, 99% of the ads I've encountered have been terrible and obnoxious. I'm under no obligation to care about them or the people making money from them.

Using the internet without ad blocker is absurd. You're asking to get infected. There's been many examples of ads being infested with malware, even on major sites that people assume would protect them from it. No one should feel guilty about protecting their property from pointless ads. You should only disable ads on sites you know you can trust and then only if they have non intrusive ads like google text ads or something. If a site runs obnoxious and potentially risky ads they don't deserve any money.

posted a message on A few questions that have been bugging me, please help a bro out.

Thanks for the replies I think I understand it now. I was confused because of the wording. At first it sounded like it needed an unbroken line of sky lit blocks on the outside of the door. I thought over hanging roofs would mess it up. I used to breed villagers months ago with no problem but in my most recent village they don't seem to be breeding as well. I added more houses and I still only have four. I'm gonna have to double check all the houses to be sure all the doors are legit.

Also I did get them to breed once and all it took was trading. Honestly I'm not even sure how to check if they have food on them. Plenty of farms in town though so I hope they can help themselves.

Thanks that's great news. Do you have any idea if these new "wild" horses will band together like naturally spawned horses?

@Anyone- I'm still looking for an answer to this other question-

So if I'm reading the wiki right there only has to be one "outside"
block within 5 spaces of the door? Assuming the "inside" isn't also only
    one block?

Another question. If you breed horses and don't tame the babies will they despawn at some point? I'm wondering if I can breed and release to make the area very horsey.

I appreciate the answers but my first post is from like six months ago I'm not looking for info about that anymore. I bumped this topic with new questions starting with post #13.

Not as long as more of those 5 blocks are shaded on one side than on the other.

So a 1 block overhang cancels out 1 block of the roof but the next 4 roof blocks still count.

For instance, if you put a door in the door hole of a blacksmiths shop it becomes a valid house but it will be "insideout" since it has a 6 block overhang and only 3 blocks of roof.

So if I'm reading the wiki right there only has to be one "outside" block within 5 spaces of the door? Assuming the "inside" isn't also only one block? Maybe I'm dumb but the way it's written seems confusing.

I know about the blacksmith thing, I just leave it open.

Oh hey Unyobro! I'm no longer crazy!

That hasn't been happening to me for a while. From what I remember they were not enchanted tools, I use a lot of plain cobblestone stuff.

Did you have a different username before? It seems like you know me but I don't recognize you.

A valid door is any door within the village radius where the number of
"outside" spaces within 5 blocks in a straight line on one side of the
door is not the same as the number of "outside" spaces within 5 blocks
on the other side of the door. A space is considered to be "outside" if
it has nothing but transparent blocks above it all the way to the sky.

That is the quote from the wiki about valid doors. I'm confused about one part, the 5 blocks in a straight line. Some pregenerated houses have an over hang(made of stairs) on the front side right above the door, does that make it invalid? Normally I don't have any issues but the current village I'm making is kinda small so there's not much room between houses. I wanna figure this out before I waste time making new houses.
