    Hello everyone, your friendly neighbourhood Skeeto here.

    Torien and I are very close to finishing the preparation for the server, with an anticipated startup of around the end of May/start of June. (For those not aware, this will be a survival server with a whitelist, open primarily to CTM mapmakers and players, with a special spawn area and free rein of all vanilla land outside it.) All we have left to do really is set up of the nether and the plugins we're planning on using (very few admin things) so we thought it was about time we started signup for it!

    I repeat: this will be a whitelisted server. It also won't be a very big server. Although we'd happily accept any offered donations to help run it, unfortunately we are both students and won't be able to afford an 100-person-whatever-gig-of-ram server. We are currently on the smallest hosting plan available from our current host, but will be able to extend this to a higher package if needs be. However, our limit (unless we were to get another full-time payer) would be a 768MB package, which will cost us £4.50 each per month. This will, allegedly, hold an ideal of 15 players. There isn't, however, a limit, they just advise that if we go over that 15 person limit then the server will experience lag. It has not yet been tested how big the map size could be, however.

    Basically, when we sign people up, we want to know that there aren't inactive people going to be taking up the spaces that could be filled by much more active people. We want our money to stretch as far as possible, and for the server to be used as much as it could. Therefore, we don't want people who are going to come on once in a blue moon, or know that they're going to have a busy summer. Although we'd love to be able to have everyone on, active or not, there just isn't enough space unfortunately! (Torien and I already take up two slots!)

    We're not going to state a limit on the number of people we can have on there yet, but if we get enough, then I'll upgrade the server to accommodate. Anyway, anyone who's interested in becoming a member, please read below.

    We will contact everyone once the server opens; don't expect a reply unless you specifically ask a question, because right now we're just collecting numbers and crunching them to help make this server the best it can be.

    Also, this isn't necessarily an application; the only way you'd get "rejected" from the server is if you explicitly state you won't be able to spend enough time on the server to warrant a place. If we have lots of signups, then we may have to sacrifice those with less time. But otherwise, nothing personal matters in whether or not you'll get a place.

    The thing about playing regular minecraft is that it's so time consuming, which for me is kinda counter-productive :(

    That does make sense... I guess I could release a beta version first, or maybe have other testers. The last time I had testers though, the majority hadn't gotten to the end by the time I released it... and this map is around the same length, if not longer.
    I still have a bit to do before it's considered playable, so I still have a while to make up my mind anyway.

    That's what the last little run is going to be about; I'm sure that there will be some little things I'll miss, but beta testers take so long to actually go through the map, and I kinda want to get the map done with.
    What I'm gonna do is make a copy of the map, go into survival mode with gear that the player should have at that point, and each area out. That'll be enough, right?

    I'm happy to announce that my second map is pretty much finished; Amidst the World should be up for download in less than a week!
    I've learned a lot since my first map, and I'm hoping this one turns out to be much more popular than the first one :)

    Good news: The map is almost completely finished! Just one more area needs custom loot and spawners, then one last look around before putting it up for download! At the very latest, it should be up in a week, but it could very well be here in a few days.

    Quick question: How do you create the fast, weaponless skeleton spawners that I've seen in some maps? I have an area in my upcoming map that seems perfect for it, but I don't know how it was made and whether I can put some custom amour on it.
    Worst comes to worst, I can just make a skelly spawner with speed holding nothing; but I prefer not having any particle effects...

    posted a message on [CTM] Domara's "Mystic Worlds" 72 Objective CTM Series (Version 1.2 OUT!) (#1: Safe Haven, #2: Uncharted Mines)
    I've actually completed this map a while ago, but I have a question about the custom skeleton spawners, the one where they were fast melee fighters? How did you create it? I've seen it in a few other maps, and I want to use it in mine.

    I know I could just re-download the map and copy the spawner, but I'm curious how you made it. Also, it's kind of rude :(

    Hey, I'm having trouble with the Custom Spawner tool... I can't find any way to actually save my spawner. Is it supposed to be saved into the schematic file? Because all I seem to be able to do is load schematics.

    Hey! I've been playing this map on the side for a while, so far have around 6 wools and having fun! I'm stuck, though: where is the second dungeon in the second zone (the desert one, Buccaneer land or whatever :/). Again, having quite a blast!
