The Vertex Buffer option is a little wonky though... If I have VBO turned ON and Advanced OpenGL OFF, my framerate tanks. Like, down to 24fps where I usually run between 50-60fps (framerate is set to max of 120, and sync with video refresh). Runs terrific for a while after I make the setting, but then the framerate grinds down to the 20s after I start running around the game world... Is VBO rendering non-visible faces if Advanced OpenGL is off? I dunno, I'm just speculating. I don't know anything about LJWGL or Java programming, so I'll leave that to the experts.
That being said, if I have VBO turned ON and Advanced OpenGL ON, I get an awesome framerate. It never drops below 60fps. But an old problem of mine crops up where some chunks don't render when Advanced OpenGL is ON... The chunk is there, I just can't see it. I can stand there on the invisible ground and interact with invisible objects in the invisible chunk (like a crafting table), but I cannot see the crafting table or the ground, and I can see straight through the invisible chunk all the way to either a visible chunk or the void. If I'm looking at it then I can see the 'block selector' outline for the block I'm looking at, but I cannot see the block itself. I can see caves and whatnot in the visible chunks, but the chunk where I am standing is completely invisible. Pretty weird. I have Win7, Intel i7 proc, 6 gigs of RAM, Java 7u51, NVidia 540m with latest drivers installed (does support OpenGL 2.x). Anybody else having problems when Advanced OpenGL is turned on?
If VBO and Advanced OpenGL are both set to OFF, I get performance comparable to older release builds of Minecraft, between 50-60fps. Pretty sweet! For a while the performance was lagging while the features were increasing, and now I have the best of both worlds.
Shout-out to UltimateFanBoy and Knochenbowser for their earlier replies, thanks for the laugh. Watching FanBoy blow his top while telling Bowser to calm down? Hilarious! I'd need a chainsaw to cut through that irony. I hope neither of you take offense to my comment, because negativity is totally not my intention. It's just that I've had days like that, so that's why your replies were so funny. It hits close to home.
Keep up the good work, guys! New stuff, new critters, dangerous water mobs and fun water monuments to explore, wow. Just wow. Update 1.8 is gearing up to be something pretty frickin' awesome!
Glad to entertain.

But, support. I see no problem.

Why did people mostly vote for yes.
*sigh* This is why I barely play anymore.
Anyway, mod looks good.

IMO, it's kind of cheap. You die, you lose your items. Fair, what's that?

This is only applicable on the suggestions board, not the whole site.
So, after being on here for about a year, I decided to put my opinions on the suggestions forum.

Agreed.

Yeah, you're right.

Look, instead of suggesting this, why not suggest ways that mobs could be harder?
0
Uh...do you want to add a reason?

Ignoring the other posts, I partially support. The problem is how to do it without most of us throwing a fit.

Why bother? The old title was kind of misleading, anyway.

The rose was at least an actual change, albiet small.

No support for various reasons.

Not a bad thing, but I see no point of this when you could use a torch.
