That would explain it. Wish the downloaded version would work for me (Stupid Java Virtual Machine bug), but thanks for the replies. And dunno if Sky was implying it, but I do in fact own Minecraft legit. Sort of figured that the bin would work in browser though.
I've been playing on browser (Google Chrome to be exact), and I modified and added the 1.8v2 Jar file into my bin folder. It didn't work- So I reinstalled the bin file, and replaced the .jar's again. It gives me a black screen and freezes up.
I've also updated my Java to the latest version, but it doesn't work. The 1.7 reinstall works, so it must be something to do with the bin file. Can anyone confirm it if works/doesn't work on Google Chrome, and if they even use the browser for minecraft? (I can't use the java file for Minecraft because it gives me an error with the Java Virtual Machine.)
Nah, I like working to make mob traps or killing creepers with my usual bow and arrow.
Either way, a medium-sized mob trap (approx 30x30) produces a good 64 gunpowder per hour, just about. Assuming you torch out the area and caverns- something a normal "starter" world would do.
Pretty interesting. It's great that you put up the worlds and everything, but it's hard to say who would be interested in downloading it as the schematics show that the wiring is fairly complex.
I was redirected from the other Tutoring thread, so I think it's great that you might tutor someone on these sort of contraptions. Great job.
Rules with strangers, no rules with friends. Well, maybe except not to abuse the /give command. I prefer it legit, and the /give command ruins Minecraft at times. It just feels good to find all of that diamond and gold, and actually put it to good use.
As for strangers, lots of anti-grief tools are needed, and some separation or dedicated areas may be required so nobody interferes and starts fights with one another.
I think this idea's pretty great. I would set the delay a bit longer though, because it doesn't really seem like you have much time to get on the cart, depending on the lag and circumstances. I can see how this sort of setup would be helpful in a lot of creations though.
The other part that I was wondering about was the ease of hiding it. I'm thinking it could be possible if one of the sides of the minecart track was enclosed by a wall, and then you could build the redstone part under that wall.
Water traps are more entertaining for mocking the mobs and watching them drown.
For lava traps, there's a certain angle that you usually have to take to make the mobs die by the lava without burning anything. I would recommend trying out Etho's "Sizzler".
My last world had a lot of similar cliffs, everywhere surrounded by ocean. I like the view from your spawn though, because it's mostly land and then it gets cut off by one small strip of a river. Looks a lot nicer and easier to build upon.
Definitely. I can't see why the two can't co-exist.
Of anything, I might end up using both- The first minecart booster to get the cart started, and the other booster to keep it going. It's an efficient way to make use of both gold and iron without being too dependent on either one.
Is that even a bug? I figured that was just what happens when you "overheat" the redstone, and it sort of burns out. Even then, this has been around for awhile.
Still a fan of regular ladders with a drop going down, slowed by a water brake to prevent fall damage. I do like water elevators, but it's a lot of effort. I only use them on certain occasions that they should look nice and "impress" people :wink.gif:.
I think "bosses" are a great idea, and they add to the game's actual content. I would prefer that they be land-based though, as the way I see it, dragons will be like ghasts- Impossible to aim and hit in the Nether, but even more deadly and have tons more health.
Just picked up a Stone Tier server today. It runs incredibly smooth, setup within ~3 hours I believe. I submitted a ticket when I heard it should be done within 1 hour, and the server was instantly put up after.
The server has absolutely no lag when it's just me on, but I have not yet tested it with my friends online at the same time. However, the resources are smooth, and everything is available for me to edit. I've already added in OP and Whitelist and I'm very satisfied with Brohoster.
One recommendation I would have for them though is to make the server instantly update to 1.6.6, the latest version of Minecraft. When I first tried to join, it was outdated, and I recognized this problem from another person's post. Luckily, their query helped me to easily solve this problem and update the server's Minecraft.
Again, very satisfied. Be patient, make good use of support tickets, and I believe Brohoster could accommodate to most minecraft player needs.
Just curious- How soon will it be until more Bedrock Tier servers are available? I was looking into getting one for myself and a couple of friends, but there are 0 available right now. Of anything I could probably manage with a stone tier, but I would prefer to keep price to a mimimum.

So in a way, yes and no to the whole dragon idea.
