The current state of grass coloring is using 1.0's definitions for what is a biome or not. This will be fixed for 1.1_02, 1.7.3, and a correct 1.8.1, to reflect the actual biome. Alpha 1.1.2_01 is unibiome, and will require a texture pack to give the bright green grass. As a temporary and manual way to see the bright green grass in whatever generator or biome you are using, then try NostalgiaCraft.
In short, the grass color will be correct for all versions by release.
Dungeons were added in late Infdev (June 2010) so they are present in all versions of this mod.
It's highly unlikely that they will decide to leave it as a custom generator or something.

Yeah there's probably a mishap in the code where the old spawning and the new spawning don't work well with eachother.

This guy definitely overclocks his computer. Also he used mods to only render and simulate a chunk or so of the world, and probably optifine to speed it up faster.

Holy ****, this terrain is screwed up. We've all neglected to try 1.8.1's option, to find out it's completely grassland. Grassland = No trees.
Now how the hell did that happen?
Derp desert.

Now I guess that's why we allowed public testing. Thanks timothy for finding this.
Edit: Wait what??? Why did snow generate in 1.8.1, when there was supposed to be no snow at all??? This is screwed up beyond belief

If you find any villages in 1.7.3, please tell us!
Also, the team thought that ravines were "structures" and with generate structures on in 1.7.3, ravines can spawn. This is a known bug.
Expect generate structures to be availile on all terrain types in a future testing version.

Yeah. Both the old and the new have their good and bad sides, and what mojang needs to do is to make a 6th gen terrain tha combines the best of both. Problem is, they probably won't. I can tell that because in 12w01a, jeb worked on the biome code to fix harsh transitions and to readd beaches. After all that time spent on doing that, the last thing jeb's gonna want to do is to do it all over again.

If this is not a bug on something my end, then I ask you all to routinely back up any world you use until this gets identified.
