    well, that's the thing, there is no crash report, the game lags out. at first everything stops moving/responding, and soon enough i either get that 'program not responding' thing or the game exits the world by itself and freezes on 'saving world' screen. no crash log generates whatsoever. i have no idea what is the problem.

    hellote, i was wanting to try this mod out as it seemed like one of the best thaumcraft addons, but im having some problems, first of all the mod makes my game crash on world creation often but it managed to start up a few times only to lag out of existence and crash again. all i could notice was some black spots on my map, however there was nothing when i got to them. does this mod add anything world braking or cpu intensive, cuz my computer isnt exactly stolen from NASA, so i thought something might be causing it to not be able to keep up, and again, i couldnt find any configs, dont know if they exist or not at this point. and most of the time i dont even get the crash report...correction, i get NO crash reports, just some hs_err_pid.log files that get created in the minecraft folder, not in crash report folder.

    anyone have an idea what might be the problem? i tried using older versions as well, but no difference. my minecraft is modded, yes, it is a work in progress as im making a bunch of changes with mod tweaker and mine tweaker, but i dont see how anything i've changed could affect this mod at all. even the thaumcraft changes are nothing more than a few extra research pages and recipes.


    after removing my thaumcraft modification script i got the game to start and managed to spend a few minutes browsing through the thaumonomicon before it lagged out again with that 'cant keep up' message...

    thanks for the informative reply, i guess its the waiting game then.


    keep up the good work, i think this mod has great potential.


    and as for the armor you are being bugged about to add to the mod, there's some armor casts already made for tinker's construct, they arent used as far as i am aware but they do exist. just so you dont end up wasting time doing something thats already being done.

    he was pointing me in what direction to look for something specific, in other words, just being helpful. its just missing the 'quote' thing, who is he telling this to for others to know.


    the problem here is that i know i've seen what he is talking about before, but now it just does not exist in that config file.

    restrictions are enabled but so far i havent done anything in them, which means they apply to the regular stuff like no making of advanced tools out of wood and cactus and stuff. + i cant for the life of me find where you disable restrictions module, i know ive seen something about it somewhere before...

    and i just noticed, when i browse through thinkers tools in creative, at the very bottom there actually ARE shield made out of metallurgy metals, i just cant craft them...

    well, there isnt much you can look at, but it would help if you showed me how your file looks like, then i can use it as a template and figure out what i should do.

    i tried checking what i was doing in that json validator but it kept telling me i need to put something like '{','[' after materials:, and ive tried to do what it wants but it kept telling me that its not valid, and that's where i gave up...

    btw, is it possible to add abilities like poison and wither to a material? kinda like what metallurgy metals have?

    wanted to try out this mod to see if it can ease what ive been doing in modtweaker, like mentioned on this forum i copied a template and put it through that json validator, and no matter what i do its not valid according to it. i then copy-pasted what feba66 posted before, the entire thing, changed data to materials and changed the name/material used to something random, thinkered around with it a bit and since i could get anything out of it just gave up and returned to using modtweaker.

    call me dumb but, i have no idea how to make this work, even when i copy paste something you mentioned before to be valid it still doesnt work, i guess ill just stick to modtweaker and renaming and recoloring of existing materials into what i would like them to be...

    yes i do. i can use materials added to tinkers construct from thermal expansion, except signalum, lumium, and enderium, the other ones work.

    how is iguanas tinker tweaks relevant in this situation?

    i can? hm, i tried mixing something like prometheum and deep iron and vyroxeres and i couldnt make a shield out of it.


    i have the latest version of all these mods for 1.7.10, is there something i am missing?

    not to rush you or anything, was just wondering is there like a vague date at which you plan to release an update? im putting something together and it would be cool if i had metallurgy materials to make shields out of. just recently found about this mod and i must say you've done a great job so far.

    i've recently updated from 1.6.4 to 1.7.10 minecraft and was stunned by the amount of changes that greeted me. digging through configuration files i remember there was a metallurgy/tinkers construct config that allowed you to change attributes like mining speed, handle modifiers, mining level, durability, etc of each material but i cant seem to find it anywhere now.

    was it from this mod? is such a feature implemented in 1.7.10? if it isnt is there something similar? any help is appreciated.

    i've recently updated to 1.7.10 from 1.6.4, and i noticed that the config file that contained information about specific metallurgy (and tinker's) material traits (like durability, damage, speed, mining level, handle modifier, etc.) is nowhere to be found. am i missing something or was it removed?

    or...was that a different tinkers construct mod altogether...?
