I am using aroma1997 backup on my server, with all backup options enabled (startup, shutdown, every 30 minutes, save 100 backups, backup even if nobody online). It only seems to make a backup on startup and shutdown though, not every 30 minutes. Even though it says in the server log that a backup is scheduled in 1800 seconds.
I was just coming to post this: It isn't saving every 30 minutes on servers. I had the server running 24 hours (well, longer than that - but using the last 24 hours) and there were 3 backups in the backups folder...
Also, if you set it to allow all players to run backup - when they try, it says you're not authorized.
I know this is an old thread; but I've been using it to set up a server as a service. I have a quick question if anyone sees this - how do you see the server console? ie. say want to add/reload the whitelist?
EDIT: Ignore me - I went into creative and figured it out - the answer is yes.
So I'm screwing around with the latest version - put in a complexity of 32 computer to build in the assembler; and it says 0%.... 10 minutes later: 0%.
Please consider a forge mod; despite what everyone says - LiteLoader is NOT painless. It's caused a few issues with Minecraft (not the game directly - just doing stuff that's annoying - like for instance: making the window more than double what my resolution is (1920 x 1080); I seriously only see 25% of the screen and have to hit F11 twice to 'fix' it....
Yes! My Bevo's Tech Pack, is very buggy, the Chopper... Not working, and, not chopping, not planting sapling... Work 1-2 minutes, and stop... Until the stopping, the GUI is WAITING, and not working... The Chopper, is not working perfectly...
Interesting - I'm using Bevo's tech pack as well and they're working fine for me. I will say some of the saplings take forever to grow; but they're working just fine.
EDIT: Just wanted to say I'm using stone choppers - 4 of them. The GUI is waiting while it waits for the sapling to grow; and if something is blocking them - they can't plant the sapling...
So I love this mod - been playing around with it all day - but I have a couple of suggestions:
#1: The upgrade system is awesome - but it's a hassle. I can't even imagine using this for longterm mining cuz it's such a pain in the butt.
My suggestion to follow what Prof. Mobeius's idea of upgrading JABBA barrels: You make a base upgrade and then combine it with 2 others to create a tier 1 upgrade. Then you take 3 tier 1 upgrades and create a tier 2 upgrade... Etc... Work in full rings, not this 1 block per...
#2: Speaking of jabba - make the miner movable with handtrucks/dolleys - or give it wheels or something... Not a big idea, but some form of 'transportation' would make it so much nicer....
#3: Give us the ability to plant cobble - even if there's nothing to dig up. ie. if you are at 64 and there's nothing below you, it'll use 64 cobble to fill up the whole...
And finally...
#4: Allow us to set the depth. I love this idea; but it's things like this that make me not want to use it...
There's so much potential here - i can't wait to see more (especially if you like and implement my suggestions...)
So I installed the latest LiteLoader for 1.7.10 - and when I start minecraft (which should be in full screen), minecraft starts in windowed mode - but I only see about 25% of the screen.
To fix it, I have hit F11 - and then F11 again....
I meant no longer built-into the computers, they're still in the mod. Bad choice of words maybe. There is just no ROM anymore, the default OS (OpenOS) with all its programs is on a floppy disk now (see above), not hard-wired into the computers. The only change is that you initially need a disk drive with the OpenOS floppy now. It allows for an incredible amount of freedom for people to write custom OSes / minimal, more resource efficient systems.
Oh, that's better. You had me worried!
So is there a spot in the world/opencomputers folder where you can put program's you've written so all robots get access to them? I've been really confused by all the changes. I finally got the robot working - but once you turn him on, nothing happens.
And if you create a robot without a keyboard and monitor - how do you install them later? I tried to put the robot back into the assembler; and it wouldn't work...
I really hope those tutorials come out quickly - I'm impatient!
There's no way to add programs via resource packs, I'm afraid, because I decided against the potential nightmare that is trying to access resource packs on the server side (where they are not meant to be). What you can do instead is create a folder in the world's save dir at `/opencomputers/loot`. In it, create file named `loot.properties` which must have the same format as the one for built-in loot disks, and then one folder per loot disk. Since there is no ROM in OC 1.3 anymore at all, 'built-in' programs do not exist anyway. You can use that to override built-in loot disks, except the OpenOS one IIRC.
Wait, what?!?! There are no more built-in programs? I hate to say it, but that just killed me from using OpenComputers now... I guess I'll have to go back to ComputerCraft then.
Sorry to say it; but that is a bad decision in my opinion.

Not sure if Mikeemoo is reading this post - but if he is: Please consider adding elevator slabs!

Original post was in August - he quit in September; So - at the time, yes it does... You just have to pay attention.

I'm trying to create a huge fir tree (the '3x3' version). Can you not do this anymore?

It's pretty obvious actually - higher number means better chance of that biome spawning... Lower number means it'll be much more rare.
My turn for a question: How do you get the big firs? (I've tried 3x3; a 3x3 + pattern.... I can't figure it out).

What am I missing? Is there a power requirement?

And another suggestion - allow miners to use an upgrade below it's level (ie. diamond can use iron) - but maybe have it slow down or something...
Keep up the great job
