Diseases have been migrated to NBT, to not be shown. Perhaps are you using an outdated version?

I never said that the diseases were explicitly shown. I'm using version 1.2.0, which is the latest version.

This mod would work well with Enviromine with a few tweaks. Maybe you could talk with the creator of that mod for possible interaction when you've gotten very far in development?

Usually mods add standard status effect, this mod does the same thing, but based on real life diseases. Maybe in the future you can make the diseases better simulate their real-world counterparts.

    Quote from Minecr4ck

Hey Notch, Why did you have to ruin it for the rest of us? Did you at all ask what EVERYONE else wants to do? Do you have another VR device planned for Minecraft. We all know VR is the future, and if Minecraft isn't apart of that, then...?
Sure the Facebook acquisition doesn't sit well. I get that, but did you have to deny the rest of us access. Couldn't you have handed off the reins to someone else that would be willing to continue development?
Why is everyone jumping on this Facebook Bashing Bandwagon? If a year or two from now, we can't use Oculus without seeing an ad fly across our eyes from FB, THEN lets get crazy. For right now... for the love of god, just chill! FB has communicated their intent, and why don't we simply continue to TRUST the people at Oculus to make the right decisions LIKE THEY HAVE BEEN DOING THIS WHOLE TIME.

I think I can say with confidence that the MODS for Minecraft are what made Minecraft last as long as it did. Another words, the COMMUNITY helped this game become the behemoth that it is. Notch, can you please take some sort of community census before making decisions that effect the rest of us. This seems like a self-centered decision.

Selfishness is a two-way street bro. Minecraft is Notch's game, not the community's.
Notch doesn't seem to be a fan of Facebook and doesn't want to be associated with it. It's a business decision related to ethics. Get educated on business sometime.

The stupid must be strong with peoplke today. "GO NOTCH, PIMPSLAP FAILBOOK"Do you idiots even realize how good this is for Oculus? 2 billion dollars, to make the best VR they can make? And people are just dropping them because facebook owns oculus now? you do realize that they dont care if they lose money on oculus, because as long as it gets out there, they wont care! oculus will remain independent, and evertything will be fine.

My God. People cannot be this stupid.

Do you even have any clue why people are agreeing with Notch? Facebook has been doing some shady . Oculus creators work for Facebook now. Facebook can now change features and such for Oculus. They can extend their unethical business practices to the Oculus.

Anyone who's saying that Notch's making a bad business decision doesn't have any understanding of what business ethics is. Ethics is an important part of business.

posted a message on The Mists of RioV [v2.5.2]
People on this thread STILL don't bother to actually be informed on Mojang's decision.
You never had copyrights to your mods to begin with.
You're still allowed to make mods so long that you don't distribute malicious code with it.
Mojang said that they won't bother trying to stomp out people stealing others' mods. Understandable, they have higher priorities. Such as working on their games.
It's still Mojang's place to decide if you're allowed to profit off of mods of their games or not. Not the community's.

Crying wolf is not a problem, so long as there is a wolf.

Yes but that's not the point. What about new modders that have created an awesome new mod, slowly building up only for people to steal it and make money off of it. The original dev loses money and it's a lose-win situation. The leecher wins by getting credit and money because their site is filled with oblivious 9 year olds looking for mods possibly infested with malware.

The dev loses because he doesnt get credit and loses money.

You're telling me that you're mad at Mojang for something that's already happening? Are you serious?
Man, you are dense. And misinformed. They are pretty much just stating what is already said. You cannot control where your mod is posted. And seriously, you can't really control whether someone takes your mod and gets credit for your work. What you can control is what actions you take toward it. Please actually do your reading and research before doing any childish, misinformed rage.

    Quote from sheenrox82

No, I just don't want people to work on it because I don't want to see it changed. It's not selfish, plus I'm porting RioV to Starbound. RioV is my baby (that sounds weird... anyways) and I don't want other people owning my baby.

Look, it's okay to say that people aren't allowed to work on your mod, but calling it your baby just makes you overly possessive. It's inane to say something like a Minecraft mod is equal to a child.

posted a message on Snapshot 13w47a Ready for Testing!
    Quote from loki_of_sassgard

You seem to ignore my entire comment. I was like, the seventh person or so to comment on this thread, and the first thing I did was go to the wiki to see the changelog. All it mentioned was the Twitch thing, and had no bugfix mentions at all.

I mean, unless you can go back in time and show me where I missed that at like, ten this morning, then sure. But it's a wiki. Wikis change.

ETA: Oh, and you edited your post.

Minecraft wiki has quality control. Did you know that? I did read your comment, and you seemed to not have read mine after the edit.

I'm saying that just because there's no mention of a bugfix doesn't mean there isn't any. Making assumptions makes an ass out of you and me.

Anyone who says that this snapshot doesn't have bugfixes do not have any idea on how to research. It's not that hard to see the full changes on the Minecraft wiki.

posted a message on Is greifing cyber bullying
I'll just put my two cents here.

Is cyber bullying the same as griefing? Well, I'll just say that dictionaries can have warped definitions of words.
However, it really depends on the intent and severity of the griefing. Just removing one block from a house is not really a big problem. Annoying, maybe. And it shouldn't be repeated.

However, when you're actively destroying someone's builds for a psychological reaction, that's cyber bullying, repeated or not. Griefing is not funny. It's not okay. Anyone who tries using the "just virtual blocks" argument is an idiot.

Let's delete some of your music, pictures, and games from your computer. After all, they're just a bunch of virtual files stored on your computer, right?

posted a message on Since when is minecraft a constant onslaught of zombies?
    Quote from Zaecus

Most of the recent changes encourage a very narrow type of creativity--creatively finding ways to survive. That's a focus, and focuses are a limitation.

Will you please explain? Otherwise you're making a blanket statement. It's not encouraging a narrow type of creativity at all. It's encouraging creative ways to survive, but you can still be more creative than you previously could on just building in general. Just because of a little difficulty against mobs doesn't mean that it's limiting anything, except the time you have to build what you want at night. If you want to just build and don't want the survival aspect, play on peaceful or creative mode. You have to survive as you build what you want. It's called "survival mode" for a reason, because survival is the focus. You still have the freedom to build, it's just that the game doesn't hold your hand and eliminate a lot of work that you have to do.
