This is hands down the best mod I have ever used, and if I could only choose one mod ever to use, it would be this. Not only does it provide a means of better detail for the game overall, but it maintains the same general feel of playing vanilla. It is not like all those candy mods that try to add unneccessary features that only a select few truly appreciate. No, this is a keeper, a mod that is worth downloading every single time it updates.

Melons, if grown in the wild, should grow in swamp biomes. But then again, you can also trade one from a villager, as seen here.

Bedrock is there to prevent the derping miner from falling into the void. In creative mode, you are already invincible, and in survival mode, the bedrock is invincible.

The pitchfork seems extremely abusable. I do not understand the converter, but the general idea of converting water to lava and vise versa is kinda cool, but would actually just turn into obsidian after it was converted (unless you change all the blocks of lava to water at once, which in itself can be extremely abusive, not to mention the griefer ocean biome, made of lava, possibly also crashing servers with such massive amounts of blocks being changed, why did I make such a long sentance in parenthesis?). Where was I? Oh... yes, the scalpel is basically a fortune enchanted weapon. The repeller is the only idea I fully support, except that instead of obsidian, it should use soul sand. Finally, there is already a tool for smashing bricks... it's called TNT. If anything, the smasher idea could be used for mallets (large hammers) that take a bit of time to swing, but break blocks much faster.

Don't get me wrong, I like the creativity in these ideas. However, they just seem too different from the normal crafting techniques that they would belong in a mod as opposed to the game itself.

This is why I suggested using Netherrack to make one, as you have to actually reach the Nether to get it, which requires a portal made out of Obsidian, which can only be found naturally at very low depths, where you would have to expirience lava before having one of those boats. Its similar to how all the good ore is way at the bottom of the map.

posted a message on Cauldrons collecting dripping water
I dont think it should overflow unless it can do so by other means as well (like from rain and buckets o' griefing), but thats for majong to decide. However, a full caudron should release a small pool of water if broken... on second thought, that shouldn't happen in the nether.

Either way, it would give cauldrons a use outside the nether, as opposed to creating an infinite water source all the time.

Since cauldrons can now collect rain water, they should also collect dripping water found in caves and such. This could make a cauldron much more useful. One could make a suspended source of water and have it slowly drip into the cauldron.

If anything, the boat should use a similar crafting pattern used by a normal boat to avoid confusion, but should actually be made out of netherrack and/or maybe blaze rods. Basically, this would treat netherrack more like wood, complimenting its ability to burn infinitely, as well as giving the nether more of a (ITS ALIVE!!!) feeling to it. It would also poke fun at the fact that water cannot be brought into the Nether (unless using a cauldron), which I would then suggest having it not able to be placed on water to begin with. Likewise, a netherrack boat should move slower, a bit more durable, and should allow the player to get on shore instead of into the lava if they are in close proximity (at least 1 block away) to a space capable of fitting the player.
