Just a note from programmer to programmer:
While increasing gravity can be a ***** for platform collisions I found that it's easy to store the players vertical speed in a variable (yspeed), and add gravity (with a value of... say 2) onto it every tick.
Then when checking for collisions check the players lowest y point plus the yspeed and just set the yspeed to 0 and set the player to sit on the top of the platform.
I hope that my explanation doesn't suck and makes sense.
P.S This technique works in flash but I wouldn't know about java...

I am wondering how hard it would be to make just a simple new block in minecraft. Maybe make it kinda like dirt? I am learning java and i am wanting to learn how to program in java minecraft wise and figured making a simple block and then going from there.
It has a very good block and item tutorial!

Hi I bought minecraft in alpha and played until mid beta but then i started to get bored of it and stopped playing for awhile. Recently though i decided to get back into it but am unable to play like i used to because of 1.0s new button layouts. I play on my mac laptop without a mouse and for right clicking i used to just use Command+click. Now though whenever i try to bind my right click to Command+click it just sets it as command only and it is very annoying and makes it more challenging to build things.
Any advice on how to bind the keys correctly is greatly appreciated and i hope to hear back soon so i can enjoy minecraft once again.
Buy a new mouse, a real mouse.

Cuz i am from MONTENEGRO so dont judge me
1. What the f*ck is USE?
2. Words don't writhe as they are not living.
3. Your residence has no relevance.
4. You posted online, you will be judged.
5. You could write in your native language and use a translator instead of crapping on the English language.
Nov 17, 2011Is anyone else having trouble finding a snow biome?Posted in: Discussion
I've traveled so very very far and haven't seen a dot of snow... But I have encountered a mushroom biome!
My world file is now 200mb and I wanted to know if there is any point to continue searching.
