I this really just about the money though?
If so, why not make the attempt to ask for donations? To my knowledge this has not even been attempted.
Please consider naming a figure - what would it take $$$ to keep the forums active for 1 more year - then add a 'donations' button.
You might be pleasantly surprised. I have seen this succeed for other fansites like this one.

I'm seeing some odd placement of the "cold ocean" biomes - sea ice in regions you wouldn't expect, i.e. right beside a jungle biome. It's very jarring visually.
Simplest fix would be to only generate them adjacent to frozen land biomes, never by their lonesome in the seas.

Won't get far without being able to craft a crafting table...
Also there's something weird with jungle tree generation. They're spawning right up against & even tangled with each other. Makes for super impenetrable jungles, but it looks odd.

Yes, spawn point is way way down in the corner of that map. Tons of monuments and I'm hoping there'll be just as many shipwrecks to find once 1.14 comes out! There's also a village on one of the deep ocean islands which is rare.

So with the Update Aquatic coming up in the next few months, I'm looking for seeds with vast stretches of deep ocean, and extended coastlines that cross through the largest variety of biomes possible. Most minecraft seas aren't actually that big, maybe 2000-3000 blocks across at their widest point, but there are exceptions.
Here's one to get y'all started! (Courtesy of MineAtlas):
PRO's: Several mooshroom islands, the ocean is about 9000 blocks across
CON'S: A bit of a hike to the coast, jungle biome is a long distance from spawn
Does anyone else have any good ocean-centric maps?
EDIT: Sorry, here's the seed for copy/paste: -775638256926624
Spawn point was actually way down in bottom left corner; I was trying to get the entire sea on the map screen!

Mushroom stew. A mooshroom cow will refill your bowl forever, or you can use mushrooms to make it yourself. You can even find mushrooms growing in the nether, and it can be "crafted" without a crafting table.

Good to see you're back!

Surely he refers to the Great Bunnypocalypse, the prophesied end of minecraft days?

Your house is really coming together now! Nice work
I'd be curious to see a video, but not if it was a replacement for the written version. I am able to browse posts at work, but watching vids is more difficult unless they are short.

Now why didn't I think of that?!? I'm always getting turned around in caverns. +1 for you sir!

EPISODE 10 - QUOTH THE CHICKEN
Whoa, it's been almost 2 weeks since my last update...
I placed my overworld portal down in the treasure room, beneath the desert pyramid where the zombie/chicken gang tried to pirate my rowboat.
I can hear a ghast, so I should build a stone structure around my exit later on.
The music here always weirds me out a little.
Pretty sure it didn't come through my portal, but I guess it's possible~
Too bad you can't arrange netherrack blocks this way on purpose.
This is hundreds of meters from my portal. This thing lives here.
And that ended my first foray into the nether. It wasn't very fruitful.
Sweet! Too bad it isn't a spellbook though.
I guess I will have to look into how to make a skeleton farm. I've never made one before.
The rabbits like to inhabit every nook & cranny of my attic.
Next time, I'll be building something AMAZING. For real.

find a Mending book! Linky

I know this is a derpy necro thread, but I'd actually like to know if there's a way to "reset" the nether too. I'm playing a 1.9 survival world, but would love to be able to find the new nether blocks that have been introduced in the 1.10 snapshot.

I took a look at this snapshot because at some point I might do this... however, it is very glitchy. For example, mineshafts are now spawning at the surface in multiple biomes (not just Mesa like they intended) and some village smithy's are burning down because they are made of wood instead of stone and the lava ignites them.
Just do as Christy182 suggested and make a backup copy of your world folder, then experiment with each snapshot until they release one that's fairly stable.

Was there a recent thunderstorm? I have actually seen lightning start a fire in a jungle.

Wow... amplified mesa looks incredible!

You definitely don't want this happening near your storage chests! At minimum you should have a 6x6 storeroom with door, walls & ceiling, and torches within

I decided to post this one early since it's a little short. Please to enjoy!
EPISODE 9 - TASTE THE RAINBOW
This has got to be the closest vanilla SSP gets to piracy.
And they would've got away with it too, if zombies knew how to row a boat I gave them both a sound thrashing, and kept their stupid little egg as a souvenir.
Rabbits in 1.9 blend with the environment - that's why these are both sandy in color.
Oh, and yellow ones too.
Now collecting dyed wool will be a snap - and if I need a lot, scaling up any particular color won't be difficult.
