posted a message on City Zoo (Alpha-Omega Map)
    Quote from MCComMap

The Ghast exhibit was a failure. For a few reasons. The ghast exhibit had to be big, and I found that ghasts liked to spawn inside of walls, where they get stuck. Ghasts are extremely loud, which makes them extremely annoying, nearly ruining the whole zoo experience. Finally, ghasts destroy the glass walls of their exhibit, which turns into them escaping and floating around the city causing chaos. My questions are these:1. If I make the exhibit underground, how many blocks deep would it need to be under the Zoo in order for them to not be heard?2. Will water stop the fireballs from destroying the glass? I could put water up against the glass inside the exhibit.3. Do ghasts destroy ice blocks with fireballs? I could use ice blocks for the observing wall.

Creatures can`t see through glass though.

We already have lava; Water is usually seen as a place for people that are burning to cool down. If people run towards water, only to find warm water they'll kill themselves. This would be fine if it were to make the game harder, but it could be deceptive to new players.

Boiling water is of a much lighter color so it won't decieve players with at least half a brain. I'll add that to the OP.

Most Water found near Lava (Where you would get burned) Would be boiling water, and so you have a "Water Water Everywhere but not a drop to drink" Type of Situation.

And, Geyers and Cuased by Large Lava Caves and Water. Not Just Boiling Water. So The Geyser Idea Does not work.

I don't think rivers would work at least not now. If you've ever dug a passage for water, after about 4 blocks it needs to drop a layer. So if the max height is about 64 blocks x 4, a river would stop flowing in about 256 blocks before it got to sea level, which is not to say it could not be in a flat area for a while. Maybe the value of the current has to be dropped from 4 blocks per level to 10.

Lava is Four, Water is Seven.

    I dislike all of these.

Acid? Burns through Everything except Gold, then Ok.

Oil? No. Only if it is found under the ocean, or in Deserts.

NetherFlow? Lava should put Netherrack on fire.

    Quicksand? Its not very good.

Sludge? To Common for Minecraft, and it does not make sense.

posted a message on Lazers and light
Thats not at all a Laser, thats flint in a pretty box.

    Laser stands for:

Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation.

You need to make a container that energizes Atoms to produce there own photons, that contains these Photons so they can be made into a stream of light.

This was only invented in the 1950`s. The most advanced thing we have in Minecraft is the Jukebox. Which was invented in the 1890`s.

The Resources required to make a usable Laser would be so immense that you need alot of new materials and items to get to the level required.

With the power of magic. :biggrin.gif:

Nope. It needs something that makes sense, not something that is easy to get or emulates something thats like it.
