posted a message on Two relatively simple upwards item transfer devices.

Boy, it's been a long time since I've posted anything here. But that's not the point of this thread.

While it's likely that someone already came up with both of these, I made both of these without any assistance. I did some searches and couldn't find similar builds, so I'm hoping.

First, one that is based off of the properties of a couple different kinds of blocks.

A simple overview of this device - a simple press of a button powers two machines - the first to be powered is a dropper, which can drop any item you want to transfer up without moving upwards yourself. Then, a few ticks later, a sticky piston pushes a slime block upward through a tube. which doesn't have to be glass. The item then activates a tripwire near the top, which quickly causes another sticky piston to push another slime block, shoving the item on to a hopper. From my count, items are transferred up 9 blocks. It has a slight chance of failure but simply pressing the button again will, in all likelihood, get any items in the tube up. The back made of wool is mostly unnecessary - all that's needed is 1 block to support a tripwire hook.

Second, one using rails, carts, and hoppers. This one I'm almost certain has been done before, but it's still interesting, and far more self-explanatory.

It can easily be extended in any direction, although slight tinkering might be needed so that the drop-off station works correctly if the entire track is expanded. The levers can be replaced by redstone torches if you like - I used levers simply in case it may be necessary to disable some parts of the track.

    its probally a glitch

    I know that.
I was looking for a solution, not an obvious "this is what it is" statement.

I seriously need help with this. I know it has no drawbacks but it removes the aesthetic need for things like Torches (Light levels still exist, but I don't seem to observe them).

My Minecraft is having a bizarre glitch - I have permanent Night Vision (Like the potion effect even when I don't have the effect) and my arm won't move when I'm holding nothing. I'm running Vanilla 1.7.2 and I am fairly sure it carries over to 1.7.4 (Haven't checked lately but the last time it did carry over).
Edit: My mistake, it happened on 1.7.2 and when I went forward to 1.7.4 it remained. I might take a go at the snapshots.

I can't seem to access any servers at all. It brings up a "Authentication Servers are Down" message, even though many other people are on those servers.

Would you rather fight 100 duck sized horses or 1 horse sized duck?: I would rather fight the Horse Sized Duck because, they easy to beat unless they are the size of an Elephant.

Hatred... not what I expected. Squee... must be Fluttershy. Urge to nuke something... must be the kind of mentality I tend to have.

Yeah, I kinda get opposite effects from a lot of things.
Tons of sugar calms me down, something that is supposed to induce friendship makes me want to kill something, being burned makes me cooler. Nothing odd here.

I have never experienced this combination of pure hatred, squee, and urge to nuke something.
Mostly the former and the latter.
The squee seems to be (I'm channeling Cilan) an inherent flavor of the recipe.

Well, I just lost part of my prefrontal cortex. I watched the first 10 seconds of the first episode.
I'll start typing in all caps if a demon comes and takes my soul.

I will do what no sane person has done before.....
Watch an episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

If youtube gets a box with my brain in it, it might be mine.
    Farewell.
    I can survive rickroll.
    This..... is something else.

    Minecraft isn't very realistic.

We can now dye leather armor! That's rather useful. However, we still can't make our diamond armor green to make it look like it's made of emeralds.

How about we can dye all armors, but certain armors dye better than others.
Leather dyes better than chain, which dyes better than iron, which dyes better than diamond, which dyes better than gold.
It's kind of inverted from the enchanting power system.
This isn't very drastic and is more of adding onto an existing feature.
What do you people think? Is this good?
