Since the elytra are equipped in the chest slot, using items while gliding with them would be possible.

I suppose getting a hit on someone would be rather tricky though, since you are maneuvering in three dimensions at considerable speeds.

Well dog fighting in real life is hard as well. Also, new arrows were introduced.

Would be cool to see hundreds of players engaging in air combat, with arrows and whenever 2 players are near, they take out a sword and as they fly past each other they strike. It could also be used in a espionage / getaway situation.

With the new release of Wings in the latest snapshot, and with it being possible to hold weapons while flying, would it possible to have a dogfight of sorts?

I imagine PVP battles having these very tall towers for players to jump off with their wings, and engage in aerial combat. They can hold bows, and then fly and shoot people in the sky of the ground.

posted a message on Physical vs. Digital
    Quote from BC_Programming»

The main issue with modern physical media (discs) is not innate in the media but is more that one of the big demographics for video games doesn't tend to take good enough care of them. Realistically cartridges were a lot more robust for that subset of players, though had their own limitations.

However I really don't think it is reasonable to say digital is better because 10-year old you destroyed physical media. 10-year old me would have destroyed discs too if they were the de facto console media. But I'm not 10 anymore, so there is no reason for me to evaluate things I am using today based on that context.

Ripping Floppy Disks back in 2007 was cool.

posted a message on Would you believe me if i said my PC power battery is a potato.... No? Well here you go:
    Quote from BC_Programming»

Let's do the math here. a typical Potato battery generates 1.2 Volts at 2 mA. It doesn't even have enough current to register the voltage on an analog multimeter properly. And this is just the typical rating- We'll stick with an average.

It's possible to connect these Potato batteries in Parallel to get more current out of them. This adds more resistance (added wire connections). We will pretend that the wires used are perfect and have zero resistance.

Looking at my Thinkpad's AC Adapter, it has an output of 2.25 Amps. My older laptop has a charger rated with a 5 Amp output. my very old laptop has a current rating of 3 Amps. Let's presume that 1.5 Amps is enough to run the laptop and charge it. That is 1500 Milliamps. with a 2mA current, you need to connect 750 Potatoes in parallel to get 1500 Milliamps.

But wait, there is more- That was just the current. What about the voltage?

As mentioned, a potato battery weighs in at 1.2 volts or so. The same power supplies I listed show output ratings of 20 volts, 19 volts, and 15 volts. Let's go with the lowest voltage here. so we want to generate 1.5 Amps at close to 15 volts.

We would need 12 batteries of 750 Potatoes in order to generate that amount of current. A total of 9,000 Potatoes.

Can you up the Potato Power by strapping it on to a power line?

Or why not use a Console as a battery (Sorry PCMasterrace Pun).

    In 2004, a normal Desktop computer had about 512 MB of ram. Not 128. Because where's the jump from 128MB - 1 GB from 2005 - 2007?

64 - 128 MB of ram was around 1998 - 2001 presumably. I have a old windows 98 laptop and that had about 64MB ram.

I won't even say how confusing that was.

Ok, here is how I would put it:
    1.Go up to her.
2.Cuss her out in a language no one knows
3.Say you are not interested AT ALL!But, put her in the friend zone at the same time..

Yeah I screwed up a bit. Just tell her that you're not interested. In the nice fashion.

posted a message on I found this .wav / .mp3 to MIDI converter...
    Quote from BC_Programming»
Sound font, not sound front. They are sets of samples that can be used when playing MIDI music to represent the various instruments. Unfortunately he's completely wrong- No Sound card available today for modern computers supports Sound Fonts, because Windows completely stripped out a Sound Cards ability to support them starting with Windows Vista. Microsoft effectively hard coded Windows to only be able to use one MIDI device and that is the crappy built-in Software Synthesizer that Microsoft includes with Windows which has a hard-coded soundfont that sounds awful. Thankfully there are workarounds- but they mean that any sound card can use any soundfont, meaning it's not specific to particular cards anyway. Software like VirtualMIDISynth allows changing the default MIDI synthesizer and using a virtualized MIDI device instead, which can be set to use Soundfont Banks.

And it also doesn't affect Music creation software like Fruity Loops Studio which don't use the default MIDI Mixer anyway (probably for the very reason that MIDI device support was lobotomized in Vista and later)

    "Unfortunately he's completely wrong."

    Whaaaaaaaaaa?

If you're going to just date her, and then break up and date another girl, then there's no point. If you have a genuine interest for her, then enroll in Chris Chans Date ED.

Follow the steps to be sucesfull in finding a person you like.

    1: Walk up to her

    2: Talk to her

    3: Be friends with her

    4: Be nice to her.

5: Ask her out. If you're not allowed to do this, then remain very close friends and suggest a relationship, but do this very subtly.

EDIT: Oh, you want a girl to stop liking you? Then just fake some scene where you hide in the bathroom and state that you're scared of her. She'll leave you forever :) I don't know if that would work but eh.

Nowadays tho most sound cards don't support soundfronts. Well, some do, like a few SoundBlaster ones.
