    What-if: once I get flowing water working outside the dev environment, I manage to find a way to convert streams blocks into water blocks ** while leaving the sources at the heads intact **.

    Right now I go out of my way to not disturb streams blocks, to avoid breaking them at the source -- and actually have them act as water sinks. But if they could actually act as sources and behave normally ... yea, flood the world, never mind. Ignore this.


    The key is to not add actual water physics to Minecraft. This wouldn't work and would require massive amounts of rewriting. I guess the goal would be to make the stream blocks "connected", and when you cut a river off by making a dam, then you would make the water on the other side level off at the same height as the ocean. And then make the riverbeds a mixture of dirt and gravel instead of stone to make them grown after a while.

    I noticed that some Villages seem to spawn above rivers / seem to be messed up by the rivers.


    Also I can't seem to stop the flow of a stream by blocking it with a Dam.

    What about making the End Cities space facilities? Like, make the end a section of deep space that warps perception, and it seems to have it's own atmosphere, and the cities are space stations / fortresses. And then make the end ships Quantum "tears" from another time period, which explains their look.

    I was wondering if you can make a addon which only contains the 3d scenery, such as logs, rocks, and others. Not the special grass and such.

It will be mostly fixed in the next major release (a full rewrite). But since that's taking a long time I decided to take another look at the current version and check if it's possible to make some improvements in the short-term.     One thing to keep in mind is that rivers that cut shallower would necessarily be shorter, since they wouldn't be allowed to "punch though" as many obstacles on their way to the sea.



    I think one cool idea for Streams would be to add underground streams of sorts, where it starts inside a mountain and comes out from an edge of the mountain.

    Could you replace the ice in the Wildcaves mod with Packed Ice? Just a simple suggestion, as the ice keeps melting whenever I place torches near it.

    Why not just cut them to 250 or something? Like have the peak reach 250.

    Also, I wanted to point out a compatibility issue with the Streams Mod. The streams seem to cut 80 blocks deep into the mountains, instead of 4 blocks deep, meaning that the mountains get very, very deformed.

    As Zeno410 pointed out, only vanilla biomes and biomes from the mods that RTG currently supports will generate, so no, your custom biome wouldn't generate. But it's not difficult to add support for new biomes. In fact, I think there are 4 or 5 additional mods that we're planning to add support for.

    Also I wanted to point out a issue.

    Very High mountains tend to cut of all of a sudden at the build height. Like, if a mountain still goes on after 200 blocks, it gets sliced at the 255 limit. This leaves very deformed mountains.

    Could you limit to whatever mountains generate? Like make a mountain start at "a" height but not go past height "b".

    Also: I have a bunch of mods and I use WTF's cavebiomes one. I can't see any cave entrances aboveground. Is this intentional or are they just very rare?
