Just downloaded Amidst v3.4.
It appears to be working fine on MC 13w39b.
One thing I did learn a week or two ago and forgot to mention:
If you set up a profile for a new MC version, make sure you actually RUN MC with that profile before you try to get Amidst to use it.
MC doesn't download the actual version code UNTIL you tell the loader to run it the first time. You could set up profiles for ten different versions and REALLY mess up Amidst.
I suppose Skidoodle could probably do a check to see if the version folder existed before trying to access it. Just a thought that just this minute bubbled up.
Also, as he said above, the world generator hasn't been changed (as far as I can tell) in the last couple of weeks so running Amidst with the 13w38a profile will give you the same map as 39b.
Oh, I was getting the lock up also. So bad that I had to use task manager to kill javaw.exe to be able to close Amidst and restart it.
had this issue also, and using this specific method and snapshot got it to work, but it locked up hard on everything else.
Hi there, my name is Trydar and I love building castles. I will be building much more than just a castle tho, and ill eventually build at least one of every flavor of medieval building.
my aim in making these is to share with you all the things I build, cause they are a labor of love and you are all welcome to share the journey with me if you want to. =)
At first I was begining to say to me that there's too much stone bricks when I saw the little pics thumbs, but finally you managed to make a great oldschool RPG feeling!

I admit, I do love stone bricks. they are my favorite block in the game. its the first custom texture I made for myself. I do plan to mix up the building and roof colors and designs more in the future tho as I develop new building techniques.
many castles go for the late medieval gothic style but im really fond of the 10th century norman / romanesque / byzantine style. =)
hi there, my name is Trydar, and I love building castles. I build other things too, but castles are my favorite things to build in minecraft, and I want to share this with you all.
my style is different from what you may be used to tho, all my buildings are practical and structurally sound, meaning that I design with an eye for realism and scale, but with only a pinch of fantasy. many of my building elements and techniques are as authentic as I can make them.
I also don't believe in over texturing my builds. some guys go overboard with this, but I prefer to keep the sharp, clean lines that keep the structure looking more solid and undamaged. minecraft is a very blocky game after all, and there is only so much you can do with the parts we have.
but anyhow, here are ten selected screenshots of my castle as it stands now. and before you ask, yes there will be a download when its finished, but not before. if you are interested in keeping up with my progress and seeing more of the castle (and my other projects), I also make a video series called Medieval Minecraft, which you can view on my channel here: http://www.youtube.com/user/trydar9k

these are some of my interiors, its not all just about the facade:
I also have made a custom worldpainter map of a large chain of islands where I will do most of my creative building work. here is a teaser pic of a mountain near my castle. there are many other interesting terrain features, but I will post more pics and update the thread as I expand and build on new islands as my series progresses.
there is also a graveyard, and if you would like to be a part of the world (at least in spirit) let me know and ill mark a sign and place it on your very own tombstone. this is just my attempt to make things more fun and interactive. =)

I cant get this to work. I installed it perfectly, but every time I hit the "join server" button, minecraft crashes and disappears instantly. no error messages given. this is all I see:

I don't think there is one. you don't get let into mindcrack until your already youtube famous or something. most of what they do are pranks and pvp, this is just another one of those in my opinion.
