posted a message on What is the Badlion Client?
    Quote from eiche_brutal»

It is a hacked client. No, they are not illegal. Just follow the rules of the servers you enter. There are barely any servers that allow you to use such a client.

Not a hacked client as others have pointed out, in fact it has a built-in anticheat system. Many people use it on Hypixel given that it's a specialised client for PVP. As for FPS improvements, they boast their own FPS improvements, which is called 'BetterFrames'.

I doubt that Badlion actually has Optifine, or it is infringing on sp614x's license, which forbids distributing it even in modpacks, much less as part of a custom client (which is really just a mod/modpack as otherwise it would be against the EULA to distribute; the actual game must come from Mojang's servers, which is then modified with separately provided files which are useless on their own). That's not to say you can't replicate any of its features with your own code (for example, I added a zoom function to my own mod, which is nothing more than a FOV toggle, "better grass", which uses the top texture on the sides (Optifine's version is a bit more complex, taking the surrounding blocks into account), FPS and render distance sliders (replacing the several fixed settings in vanilla 1.6.4) and there are also many other optimization mods which may or may not make similar changes as Optifine, and even many features in vanilla used to require Optifine).

Yes, it doesn't actually come with Optifine. The client just helps to download it for you. So it's more like Optifine-compatible instead of having Optifine pre-installed. It's probably still against sp614x's license though.

posted a message on Minecraft Classic

The last time I checked it out was during Minecraft's 10th anniversary... for purely nostalgic reasons.

There isn't really much to do in Minecraft Classic, so I rarely revisit it.

    Lucky you.

Sadly, my encounters with creepers over the years are never funny, especially the few times they blew up while I was next to lava. :(

posted a message on How should I go about my minecraft youtube channel? Survival? Multiplayer? Both?

You can do popular competitive minigames like Skywars or Bedwars. There is potential in growing your audience doing that kind of content, especially if you are exceptionally good at those games.

Survival multiplayer > singleplayer, but that being said, singleplayer survival is still watchable if your personality and content is engaging enough that people can still be drawn towards.

Ultimately, do whichever Minecraft-specific content you enjoy best, it's easy to get burnt out if reception (in terms of views) is not ideal. Don't expect instant success and if any video happens to perform well, just take it as a sign of what kind of content to work towards.

I quite like Ender's Game, the book was a lot better than the movie.

posted a message on Do you guys know of any popular griefer/griefing organizations?

I think all the popular griefing groups that used to exist many years ago do not exist today. Server protection and anti-cheat plugins have pretty much made it impossible for them to cause chaos on a server.

posted a message on to all the mods still moderating the forums in its final death days:

I've spent nearly 7 years being a moderator on this forum. The nostalgia is real but sadly we all have to move on.

Thanks for your support, what a shame it all has to come to an end.

Hello! My name is EmeraldX, but you can call me Emerald, or Shaymin, off of my Minecraft username. I've been a long time Minecraft player since 2012, and I've been trying to find interesting Minecraft community sites. I stumbled across this and thought it seemed cool. Looking forward to being here.

Welcome to the forums guys. Hope you'll enjoy your stay here.

I have a Lenovo Ideapad 330s with a Ryzen 5 quad core, and 8GB ram with a 256GB SSD and I cannot run Minecraft over 60fps without optifine! It is a brand new laptop!

Hi, you'd probably want a discrete graphics card which gaming laptops typically come equipped with. Even a low-end, budget graphics card like the GTX 1050 will be able to run Minecraft at over 100 fps easily.

posted a message on Why I won't be using PMC anymore...

Having used both websites. I honestly think both websites are great and have their own respective niche. Planet Minecraft (PMC) is more geared towards the uploading of projects/maps/resources packs while Minecraft Forum's main draw is of course the forum section(s) and discussion.

If you have any issue with the moderation on PMC. I'd suggest you try submitting a ticket on their site here. Explain in detail the issue that you have (like how you did in this thread) and I'm sure they will be happy to help.
