It is not a good mechanic for the current experience of the game, considering all the things people like to do in it.

This raid buff should become exclusive either to a new difficulty mode, or a world option.

But imposing it on everyone else for some silly cliche survival gameplay experience that a cynical minority want in the game? at this point I'm considering finding a different sandbox game for myself and friends I play with to go on, just in case in the future development of this game Mojang actually does force something like this on the rest of us.

we would have no way of preventing castles or mansions being dismantled because by the time the raid mobs were noticed, blocks would have already been removed if the raids received this kind of a buff in an update.

Ultimately it's not really a challenge, just an annoyance.

There's a difference between threats to players, and threats to builds.

and as I said before not everyone plays the game for griefing, even survival players who like having monsters to fight don't generally want to put up with having their towns trashed all the time. If they wanted that kind of experience they'd be playing on an anarchy server, but they clearly don't. Just because griefers are upset that they cannot join private worlds wise players set up doesn't give them the right to then demand Mojang to make AI do the job for them.

Oh it definitely wouldn't work in normal gameplay, no shot. I'm just asking how it would detect the base in the first place, then we can start looking into how it would work.

I never get this whole 'reinventing' stuff either, does it even work for people who actually need it?

I mean it didn't work for me really, in fact how I reinvented myself in that era of my life was probably the furthest from good you could ever get. I'm sure it's worked to some extent with someone though.

I absolutely love this update, though it's sad that the main part that I like about it is being pushed back to the holidays.

posted a message on Has anyone else had this idea?

So, first off I want to say I'm no builder. I'm most likely not going to make this myself and if I do it'll be really derpy. However, does anyone here remember the interrogation room from black ops 1? I had an idea to recreate that in minecraft.

Looked it up on planet minecraft, and no one made it. I'm actually kind of surprised, it spawned the "the numbers, mason, what do they mean" meme (was it a meme? idk I didn't get into memes until 2012), and isn't anything unknown (at least to the part of the community that cares about the campaign), so it's just odd to me that no one made it.

I've never noticed that that's not a thing because I never brew but yeah, if you know how to actually brew things I think certain potions should give experience.

Also, pretty sure that wouldn't be an issue. Just have a cooldown or a check on a bottle to see if it's been taken out of a brewing stand already. If true, give 0 exp.

My question: how does it know that it's your base? Does it go by your spawn point? If so, you could simply have your spawn point far away from your actual base and know your way to the actual base. Does it go by blocks placed? In that case, if you patch up a creeper explosion, it would think that's your base and attack it. Does it go by your current position? Not only would this assume you're the average person living in the years 2020 and 2021 but it would also mean that you'd just be minding your own business when the spanish inquisition attacks. Does it go by your average position? Then, how would it calculate that? And again, when I play minecraft I typically spend most of my time out of my base doing other things, like getting food, mining, or getting wood, so mine would attack the nearby forest instead of my base.

It does sound a lot like the alien feature in factorio, where after a while aliens will attack your base, however that works because a lot of core blocks have pollution levels, which indicate where a base is and tells the aliens where to attack. However, minecraft doesn't have that, so this probably wouldn't work as well as one would think.

As someone that only knows a little about how coding works, this would be nearly impossible considering the fact that it needs to pre-load everything. Sure, theoretically it could suspend the game, download the assets, and load them before allowing the game to function again, much the same way texture packs do with an extra step. However, this would require a lot of work to do and would most likely involve a complete rework, so this is probably never going to happen as much of a convenience this would be.

posted a message on How long have you been playing Minecraft?

I believe I started in 2012 or 2013 with my stepbrother's account (yeah yeah get it out of your system "WhAt aRe yOu dOiNg sTePbRo" shut it), then I got my own account which I wish I could get into again but I lost the username and password, but the username was something about skydoesminecraft. then I made my current account under the name "Thefirewolves" which is my old identity that I really drove into the dirt, then it was "Triangulum18", 18 being the year I "reinvented" myself (lie of the century that was), "TriangulumAC", "AC" standing for "Andromedacraft", my minecraft server, and now "Triangulum598", which if you know the origin of the "Triangulum" part of my username, you would also know it's also known as "NGC-598" or "M33", which "Triangulum33" is my bedrock edition username.

TL;DR I started playing in 2012 or 2013 under my stepbrother, then made my own account(s) later, and as I gradually grew a brain my usernames got more and more complicated

posted a message on Andromedacraft is looking for feedback!

Hi there, and thank you for clicking on this post! Two and a half years ago, myself and a friend founded Andromedacraft, which at the time wasn't the best, in fact it didn't even have a proper server until January of 2020. This server is being made with freedom of expression and neutrality in mind, and will have an immersive narrative to it. Andromedacraft is a science fiction server set in 2190 during the beginning of human space travel, however while this server is the first that we are making, it is far from the first in the narrative's timeline. However, the lore of the server is not important now, as we're currently focusing on the features the server needs to be immersive and feel more than just Minecraft. However, we've hit a hurdle in our progress; we've run out of ideas of what to add. Sure, we have the features we're planning, but not only will they take a while to be in working condition, and some require the 1.18/1.17b generation features to work the way we want them to.

That is where you come in. We need people to join the server and play for a while to give us feedback on what we can improve on, what you think would be a good idea to add, bugs that we need to patch, etc. We want your input on where to go next. Please use the feedback form linked here when submitting your feedback, as it greatly improves what we know about your experience and gives us more insight as to how to take action to make the server a better place. We thank you for any feedback you give us, and please try to be as constructive as possible.
