    I'm not sure what he's planning, but this server's pretty good:

    mc.sleepcrafting.com

    It's plain vanilla, we could start a town together or something.

    I might be able to. Would be nice to have a group of people to play with.

    My Skype and Steam account name is Treticle, try adding me on both.

    We might have to figure out when we could play though, because I live in Germany, and the time difference might be a pain to work around.

    posted a message on Sandstone Caverns
    So there i was, playing minecraft. I thought I created a Superflat world that was set with the redstone ready preset and apparently it was just the desert preset.

    After exploding just about all the sand on the surface I found that under the sand in the sandstone layer that there was an abandoned mineshaft in there, and that it looked pretty awesome.

    I'm suggesting that under all desert biomes that the stone be replaced with sandstone. Not all of it, leave chunks of stone embedded in the sandstone like ores. Here are some pictures of how it'd look.

    Also, maybe along with the sandstone caverns under deserts add maybe even stained clay caverns under mesa biomes?

    *Edit, what I really mean is for maybe like half of the chunk below the desert to be just sandstone, and to eventually stop maybe around 35-45Y, same thing with Mesa biomes except stained clay.

    Sounds awesome.

    What if they were to drop poison that you could craft with arrows to make poisonous arrows? I'd like to see something like that.

    Firstly,

    There's no point using "colored sand" if:
    1. Hardened clay blocks have already been introduced.
    2. Creating an un-realistic version of sand.

    Secondly, I really like the idea of another biome, and this one has my full support.
    Taking advantage of the hardened clay blocks to make a different biome would be amazing, and additionally, somewhat resemble a desert/canyon would be great.

    It'd be pretty amazing too, if a ravine stretched through the middle of it.

    Support!

    & @Ocram

    I really should have been more specific. If the entire biome was made out of only 1 block type, it would be a bit dull and unrealistic. So I think that in the biome there should be sand and maybe dirt (To make farming and planting trees possible, but not a lot) along with the hardened clay except colored to the shade of the biome.

    So I did not suggest to add in a new colored sand block, but to shade it like grass is in other biomes with a different color. Like the dark green grass in swamps, except in the Canyon biome it should be colored a red-orange, or orange-red shade.

    Um, we already have this: http://www.minecraft...mesacanyonlands

    However, I have to say your idea with the hardened clay blocks is different and works better without having to make a new block, so I'll leave my support here anyway. I wonder what mobs you can find there - coyotes and donkeys would be neat additions at least...

    He has a lot of pictures, thats for sure. Meh, didn't think to search for mesas...
    Although I do like the Coyote mob idea, but they should instead just use wolves, and make them one of the only mobs that spawn there.

    Why not use colored sand instead of hardened clay?

    --Ocram

    The plateaus aren't made out of sand..
    But I see your point, and I agree, they should use other materials besides clay, like so trees can grow, they could color the dirt and grass like a reddish-orange.

    Quote from Cjslick

    1. No argument to that first one? Aww man.
    2. If you are a supporter of emerald tools, where is your legion? Are you among a large supporter of this PRE EXISTENT formation? they must've made POSTS around here somewhere.
    3. Uh... why do you think? Oh yeah the fact that is says EMERALD TOOLS is the fact it is redundant and you had to say so.
    4. Well ok, That's fine it's happened to the best of us.

    I'm still calling redundancy and you won't sway me because you've made vital mistakes and quote the mistakes as a counter argument.

    Grand Prize goes to this user for winning the thread.

    At this point are you even giving good reasons as to why this shouldn't be implemented.
    "Are you among a large supporter of this PRE EXISTENT formation?"

    Is this supposed to be some part of a valid reason as to why this is a bad idea?

    And then you barge at him for saying how "since there are no more emerald tools thread, imah make another."
    Er.. he supports emerald tools, if there are no threads for the world to see, why is he in the wrong by making a new one so the idea can be noticed?

    You do this on a lot of threads I've noticed :L

    Whatever, here's something to add to this idea. Emeralds are painfully rare.
    To make tools of such equivalent to iron isn't good enough, they're just sorta dull.
    So how about you make the emerald tools as durable as diamond [They last as long], but are only as efficient as stone?

    Like an emerald pickaxe would last as long as a diamond pickaxe, but would only mine as fast as a stone pickaxe, and would only be able to mine things a stone pickaxe could. [Not Gold, Diamonds, Redstone, etc.]

    posted a message on New Biome - Plateau Desert Biome [Canyon Biome]
    I searched and did not see a direct thread describing this idea, so here I go.

    1.6 Has finally arrived! They added all this new stuff, one of which includes the new hardened clay blocks.
    Why not make a plateau desert biome? By plateau desert biome, I mean something along the lines of something like this.

    Like in all those western movies you see.

    The currently existing desert biome is ok, it resembles a sand desert like the Sahara.

    They could replicate terrain similar to this with the hardened clay blocks.
    I actually saw this idea being suggested in comments from this video.

    This is an excellent example of how it should look like, maybe with more dead shrubs, a tumbleweed entity, dust storms... things like that.

    I'm not sure about the rest of you, but I would love to see something like this added to the game. But I would love to know what other people think. Can you guys think of anything else that could be added to this biome, if it were to be added?

    posted a message on Creepers Exploding After Avoiding Them.
    Essentially, my suggestion is for creepers to blow up, once their AI detects that there is no workable path to you. This would occur in Hard difficulty, and in the Hardcore game-mode.

    Of course this could make surviving creepers infinitely more difficult, making it impossible to avoid a creeper explosion, so there would be a 35% of a creeper exploding in that situation.

    Or heck, perhaps its possible in all difficulties (Excluding Peaceful), but just rarer the easier the difficulty is set to.

    Peaceful = 0%

    Easy = 10%

    Normal = 20%

    Hard = 40%

    Hardcore Game-mode = 60%

    ----------------------[Or]----------------------

    Peaceful = 0%

    Easy = 0%

    Normal = 0%

    Hard = 40%

    Hardcore Game-mode = 75%

    I think it would enhance the survival mode and make it more exciting. A creeper blowing up a wall to let other mobs in would definitely make survival a lot more interesting. A reason for a builder to have to think tactically about how he decides his shelter should be designed.

    I would like to hear you guys' takes on this idea. What do you think?

    posted a message on Saplings Automatically Grow Back/Tree Growth
    So basically, In many situations, A Tree is cut down and never replanted. This can pose as a problem, especially in Multiplayer Servers. So pherhaps after a tree drops a bunch of saplings, that there is a 1/8 chance of them replanting automatically to the ground. This is what happens in Real life... So why not Minecraft??

    Also, After tree's are left for a large period of time without being cut down or altered in anyway, make them continue to grow gradually?... Maybe like after 10 minecraft days? This could maybe add a sense of aging and change in the game. They would basically continue to grow in height and density at the same rate,but would stop growing before they reach the height of Jungle Trees...

    So does anyone approve of this idea?

    posted a message on Bigger Map Crafting
    Quote from Neospector

    Not really; the map is...what, 1024x1024 blocks? 64 chunks. That's sufficient to keep track of most legitimate player creations, even on a server. The need for multiple maps comes from when you're exploring really far out, and I mean really far. As in, more-than-likely-not-legit far, or just-trying-to-find-one-of-the-new-biomes far. Even with the larger biomes, it's a stretch to say that the player needs to travel that far. Here's a collection of nine maps together, slightly larger than what you suggested:

    And keep in mind that one pixel = 8x8 blocks.
    If it's really necessary to explore and record this much, please let me know so I can visit whatever the hell of a monstrosity you've built and congratulate you on wasting a few days of your life on it.

    Ok, AS I SAID BEFORE,

    The update will make biomes like 4x Bigger, It would be hell to try to venture to another biome that you're searching for, even to remember where it is! Also In multiplayer (Before the update), There are commonly Towns and Villages and Crap from other users.. Be nice to keep track of those too. I will say though that the Crafting Recipe should be difficult to complete. Like after you make this map, You will practically NEVER need to make a map again.
