Are you two playing on a server or singleplayer? If its a server than there is your problem, its gargantuan lag. If singleplayer, than its most likely your RAM or video card, try lowing the render distance and the graphics to fast.
I'm not really good on specs so I can't help you in that area, but good luck.
It's not on a server, and I do have low render distance/graphics set to fast. It's probably what you said though, RAM or video card. I don't think specs would make a difference because I've played Minecraft long before I experienced the problem on the same laptop, so I have no idea. But thanks for the input.
So, in my Minecraft, there's been something a bit weird going on.
Sometimes when I place a block, open a door, harvest a crop, etc. it will lag behind. Not the best description, but in layman's terms, whenever I place a block, I'll hear the sound of it being placed, and I'll see the black-line outline of it, but it will be a second or two delay before it actually appears. I don't know why this is happening, and I would appreciate some feedback. I do play on a somewhat old PC that runs Minecraft a bit slowly, but I've been experiencing this problem only recently. I've played Minecraft before on the same computer without the problem. It's not really that big of a deal, but I would enjoy some feedback.
C418 has a lot of interesting music, and I like it because it's very....how do I put this....I guess I can say "different". In my opinion, it's almost a genre of it's own. In a way.
I also really like a lot of Skrillex. Most of songs are pretty cool, but some don't work out for me. I've only listened to a little bit of deadmau5, so no opinion there, and I've only merely heard of the other artists you have up there (i.e. Flux Pavilion).
Yeah. When I first heard of Minecraft, it was through watching videos on Youtube of the Yogscast, and watching their videos had a sort of "feel" to them. Nowadays, they are still great, but they just don't have that same feel. I can't describe what this feeling is, but it's odd.
Also, I got Minecraft in 1.7.3 (Yes, I know, I got it pretty late, but I heard about it and wanted it way before I got it) and the feel of it has definitely changed throughout the multiple new updates.
don't get me wrong, Minecraft is a great game, and I still really like it, but I think that it could have been infinitely better if it still had that "feel".
I'm not really that amazing at large-scale building and such, but I would suggest to put a lot of detail into it. Don't just the same block the whole time, use a variety. Pay attention to everything you're doing. It would also help to be pretty experienced in building circles in Minecraft, because that would help a lot.
Yeah extreme hills are really good, especially for building awesome things. I think next would be ocean biomes because it is just so awesome how is a giant open expanse of water, which is pretty awesome.

Btw, I liked how you added the SOPA and PIPA thing at the end. Those bills better not pass.

If you killed it in creative mode, then meh.
