posted a message on After restarting my MC server i cannot connect to it anymore.

Your firewall may be blocking the server.

Make sure you allow the ports through whatever firewall / antivirus you have.

You will often find you can run something once, but after that the firewall will block it once it's been detected. I'm not sure why it works this way it just does.

posted a message on A solution to: Minecraft server console freezing

    Update:

Server has not frozen once since i applied this fix. Been a full week with no problems.

Feel free to add this to a pinned list of solutions or whatever you do with these sorts of threads.

    How to reproduce:

    Be on windows 10.

Open server console, quick edit mode should be on by default.

After a period of time server will freeze (If watchdog is enabled, server will be forced closed. With watchdog disabled it will not crash, but instead hang) and you must type something into the console to resume normal function.

Happens more often when players are joining / leaving.

    Solution:

Disable quick edit mode in the console defaults.

Most definitely stolen. My legacy account was hijacked (still no idea how) and was migrated to a different email. It's very possible it was sold on a site like the one you are talking about. Had to wait about 5 whole months just to get my account back.

posted a message on Server is not working

Is the console just frozen? So the server is actually online but it won't let you on.

If so, are you on windows 10 and are you able to type anything into the console?

posted a message on Mincraft Server messed up, now it won't even allow me to run more than 1gb of ram

You mentioned you had to update java. This may have been your mistake.

When you updated you may have only installed the 32 bit version of java. Make sure you have BOTH 32 bit and 64 bit versions installed.

The reason it won't allow you to use more than 1gb of ram is because the 32 bit version of java can only handle 1gb and no more.

Also make sure the server is using the correct java path. Ideally you want to lead it to the 64 bit version of java.

    Update forge.

Don't just do this, you could end up getting forge for 1.15 which is no good to you.

To be more precise, you need the correct forge version for your minecraft version.

Since you are on version 1.7.10 you need forge version 10.13.4.1566 according to the launcher.

Additional, make sure you restart your server after disabling quick edit mode. Just to be sure the changes applied.

posted a message on A solution to: Minecraft server console freezing

This fix is only for windows 10 users!

If you are running a different version of windows the method may be different, so keep that in mind!

This is a solution to the problem where your server console will randomly freeze and stop working. The server is still online however, but you need to type a letter into the console to get it to "unfreeze" and resume.

Now with this solution you should no longer need to do this.

Thanks to a reddit user who knows a lot about windows 10 exclusive features, i was able to solve this issue. However extensive tests need to be done! I've been running the server over the weekend with no problems so far, hoping it stays that way.

    The fix!

Apparently a new console feature in windows 10 called "quick edit mode" can interfere with the minecraft console, causing it to pause.

By disabling this, your server will no longer pause and should work as intended.

Disabling quick edit mode does not damage your computer in any way. This feature is only for quickly selecting and editing text in the console window, which you don't need for a minecraft server. You will also notice how you can't use the scroll wheel to navigate the console any more, just use the side scroll bar instead.

    How do i disable it?

Right click the console title bar and select "defaults" then uncheck the quick edit mode option.

    Simple as that.

I am making this thread here because i am not prepared to hunt down every thread on the issue. The support team wants users to make their own threads on identical issues instead of merging them together.

So, sorry for any inconvenience if you are waiting on a reply to your thread.

Our goal is to prevent confusion. If for example, you post you're having a similar problem as someone and you post on their thread support could be given to you instead of to the person who posted the thread. Additionally, what works for you may not necessarily work for someone else or they may have different steps they have to go through.

Again - all in an effort to make the community support process efficient, tailored toward the poster, and to prevent confusion.

It's not really preventing confusion if you delete someones post and warn them, seemingly for no reason.

In fact i would also say it could be more confusing to create multiple threads on identical issues. Someone searching for an answer would have to go through many different threads all about the same problem, rather than finding one thread on the issue with multiple possible ways to fix.

Additionally, having multiple threads about the same issue creates additional work for those trying to help as they have to copy the same replies to each thread.

Plus it may also take longer for you to receive a reply or your thread may even be missed.

It seems very possible that either:

Pigmen had originally built the fortresses, but the wither and his army took over them. Thereby evicting the natives from their own homes.

The wither and his army are the ones who made the fortresses. The pigmen natives fight them for "desecrating" their land.

Buckle up it's gonna be a long ride. I had to wait somewhere around 3 months just to get an automated reply, not even a real person. Then i had to spend another month fighting with the bot until a real person stepped in because the bot was taking me nowhere.

Do you have the exact same specs as the OP? Would be helpful to specify this, the mods have a point in saying that solutions can vary a lot based on specs.

I will agree with you though that the whole website in general has a problem with friendliness, bordering on the levels of other Minecraft forums like the Minecraft Suggestions subreddit or the Minecraft Feedback website which are apparently quite hostile to bad suggestions. This has become especially clear after the old admin sold to the new admin and it's still the exact same problem with everyone from mods to newbies to long time posters. It's an overall site attitude problem.

I most likely do have different specs, but it is still the same issue. The way i see it, people should be able to help each other out in a thread related to the same problem. That way, someone searching for an answer could try all possible solutions if specs made any difference.

Instead, they are forced to hunt down every single thread related to the same issue, there could be many. Imagine the headache of looking though 50 different threads to find one with the reply you need.
