Except it is craftable and cheap to make.

I would say they should just make Tridents craftable in some capacity, instead of just having a miniature-trident that would make actual tridents obsolete. Tridents aren't very commonly used, so I feel that in the event that you do want to use one, you'd just end up using a dagger instead if this suggestion was implemented. But we'll see (if it ever gets added, that is).

The point is this isn't an option for things like tools.

If you attempt to extract resources back from pickaxes or swords via smelting, if gold or iron, you only get a nugget, it doesn't matter if it has full durability or a third, you won't get any iron or gold ingots, and is therefore a highly inefficient way to recycle or repurpose your materials. The point the OP was making is there needs to be a more efficient way to recycle gear in the event you accidentally crafted something you didn't want or had no use for at the time. Most players don't want to waste time with methods that are disproportional to the resources used.

I am aware, and I agree with the suggestion. But he mentioned that it would allow you to get the iron back from iron blocks, I just pointed out that that's already a feature in vanilla.

I'm confused as to how this would work; would this be an entity? Or a block?

I've heard these as well, they're pretty cool. They definitely enhance the eeriness of the Nether I think

posted a message on More armor types.

We already have four (technically five if you count chain) armor types, the problem is that only two of them are used.

Leather armor and gold armor need some changes IMO.

Firstly, gold armor could be made actually useful if it was given high protection. Keep its durability just as low as it is now, for balance (and because it's in the spirit of gold tools not being durable), but the protection could be put up to, let's say, 9 armor bars, so it's better than iron but still worse than diamond.

Secondly, leather armor is useless since iron is even easier to find than leather in most cases, all you have to do is dig down and/or find a cave or two and you can get the 24 iron required for a full set easily, whereas cows are scattered around the map and in too little numbers to get 24 leather swiftly, instead you would have to breed them, which takes way more time than getting iron.

Either we could make cows spawn more often, and possibly drop a little more leather, or we could add another source for gathering leather, for example, other mobs rather than just cows could drop it (which would be realistic since 15% of humans' leather supply comes from sheep and 11% from pigs), or it could be found occasionally in the ground, I'm not sure.

Either way, something should probably be done IMO, because while leather is fun to make as you can dye it pretty colors, it's next to useless, and gold armor needs a lot more than good enchantability (and being the prettiest thing in existence) to be worth it.

And why do we need coloured wood or cobble? We already have enough coloured blocks.

That's just, like, your opinion man

Tigers being your defenders makes no sense... I expect they would be neutral at best, more likely hostile, if they were added.

I mean, I don't play on easy difficulty and if you do play on easy difficulty then I suppose you know what you're in for, but I don't see how you can be this bad at the game to the point where you can't win against a skeleton on easy difficulty...

posted a message on Smarter Pillagers

I definitely agree with this. Pillagers are hilariously weak compared to Vindicators and Evokers. They don't even deal that much damage with their crossbow shots and are a walk in the park to kill when doing a raid, the only mobs you have to worry about are... all the others that are not Pillagers.

    - Pillagers would "watch" where they aim; if an Illager is in front of them, they would walk sideways until they had a clear shot.

    Teamwork
Pillagers would now use smarter teamwork when following a Captain:
    - They would fan out to his sides when they stop moving, as to avoid friendly fire.
    - They would synchronize their shots in volleys; all Pillagers would load and shoot at the same time.
    - They would focus their shots on the mob the Captain is targeting, much the same as tamed wolves do for you.
    - They would avoid strafing when with a Captain, sticking close together instead. When the Captain dies, if they can't pick up the banner, they scatter and start strafing.

I'm not sure how they'd implement this. Mob AI and pathfinding is already a tricky subject as it is, it'd be a huge leap for stuff like this to be added. I support it though, I just don't expect it to happen.

posted a message on Nether update

We need more Magma Cubes to spawn. They're too rare at the moment, with the most common being Zombie Pigmen which do nothing to you unless you attack them, and then Ghasts being very easy to deal with (unless you're new). Aside from Ghasts, Magma Cubes are essentially the only hostile mobs to spawn in the Nether that aren't only found in Nether Fortresses, yet they're a rare occurrence, when they could be more common and therefore actually pose a threat. Just my opinion
