The zombie pigmen thing probably took lets see... 5 minutes. It's the powered rails that he is adding that is actually taking time I bet.

Just noticed this on Notch's Twitter:
"Doesn't really matter.. Mods are unsupported, and mod developers know that. We're going to keep developing the game."

And that is exactly as it should be.

Yup, I was ignored earlier when I said this.

Get that MOD that adds Herobrine :3

Had to emphasize mod, people might be foolish enough to think its default.

And you had to resurrect a retarded thread that died 2 hours ago.

I was part of the thread, and 2 hours doesn't really mean dead. Lets see what happens when this is at the top of a Herobrine search 3 months after its dead.

most threads here are about someone complaining about something. with so much to complain about, you wonder how minecraft still sells. or maybe it's just most of these people have way too much time on their hands. or like to complain a lot.

It's just people with a complaint are more vocal than happy customers. And if you claim to be a happy customer all those people with a complaint come down on you like a ton of bricks claiming you're a fan boy, so why say anything if you're actually happy?

I simply don't post how happy I am, or any complaints simply because I'm lazy. I think dogs needed something bigger to accompany them in the update (achievements and stats, but I can't complain, I'm not coding Minecraft, Notch is), but I don't think this update was too soon, in fact 1.5 and 1.4 probably should have been merged, but even though they aren't, Minecraft is vast and I can occupy myself with it very easily.

If any people with complaints come down on me like bricks, I'll take out my anti-no-ability rail gun and blast them all out of my way. It's funny how all the people whining about things are the ones who can't do it themselves. People who complain about mods, or mods that aren't updated fast enough, can't make the mods. People who complain that Notch doesn't release content fast enough... can't program in Java well enough to make Minecraft, and most simply can't code. Those who sit back and say, ohhh so Notch is going to release this next week, but I bet it'll be at the end of the week, but I can run on my excitement for this update, so it doesn't matter to me, are the ones who can do it, or the ones who understand the difficulty... oh wait, I apply here, to both cases. But I don't see a point in programming Minecraft if it is already there, and I know there are lots of things that aren't easy to do or fix. I'm perfectly content with Minecraft, although I do have some criticism, it isn't even worthwhile to talk about.

And for those of you flamers who really want to pummel me thinking I'm a Notch fan-boy, you will be wasting your time. I am not a fan boy. I respect him, and I know what he has to do to make Minecraft function the way we want to. The difference between me and you is this (although, each point I am about to make does not apply to EVERYONE): I know my place in the grand scheme of Minecraft, and I also know that Minecraft isn't easy to make. Another thing is I know that Notch doesn't have to cater to us, and can add what he wants when he wants it, but he is open to suggestions. Notch is the same as all of us, he enjoys games, he just decided to make a game for himself, and for his own experience, and decided to share. Don't hate him or what he does simply because he doesn't make the watery deadlines he sets (not set in stone), he isn't EA or Treyarch, etc. Notch is Notch, a human, and can do what he wants with his game. We have Minecraft today because he was generous, and figured that he might as well make some money with a game that gained popularity at TIG, and now is world-wide and widely known, and remember, Notch is donating time from his life to keep us happy, and to satisfy his own gaming desires, so chill.

    Herobrine is real.
I have recently had an expirience with what i belive is the son of the nether when i was walking around and found one of the glitches where there was a hole in the wall when you can walk straight into it and its pitch black. I walked about 30 blocks straight into it and hit an invisible wall but on the other side i saw a character with white eyes.
I had no mods and this was singleplayer beta. this is not a myth this is completely real and scarier than your first trip to the nether.

I've already told you there is no code for Herobrine, nor a texture pack, you can stop spewing bull crap that has been proven wrong.

My god I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks it, please Notch update slower.

What's your reason for wanting him to update slower? He is already updating slowly IMO.

To be frank, if you use mods, don't update until the mods are updated. You could always prevent updates before, it is no different now. If you want to update so you can play SMP, then it's your problem if mods no longer work. Notch has never been, and is not, and will never be responsible for the unsupported client mods that are made for Minecraft. If people want to whine about mods not being updated right away, then I suggest they update the mods themselves. Notch doesn't follow the modders schedule, or the mod-users schedule, he follows his schedule. Notch provides Minecraft, you play Minecraft, he never provided, endorsed, or approved of the mods people use.

In fact i started this topic to ask what it was. Question is answered. Close.

Oh just to tell you one more thing, I believe I saw a Herobrine mod & plugin video somewhere, so when forced to exist, it does (This doesn't really answer what you now know, but someone said there isn't a plugin/mod that has it. I'm not sure its for Bukkit, but I know one exists somewhere).

Updates too often can't possibly be a bad thing unless the content in the update is bad.

The only thing that I don't like is that once you generate a world, there may be features that the game does not render but in a future update they would... For instance, if you want Lapis on an old save, you would have to travel to new chunks, same thing with natural sandstone, birch and pine, etc...

I start a new world every update and try not to spend too much time on one game because I know Ill just end up deleting it and starting a new world on the next update.

Why don't you just go and delete unused chunks and have them regenerate? I'm not sure they will regenerate on the surface as they were before, but at least you get your new resources.

Bukkit gets updated within 6 hours after the update, client mods are frowned upon and are not supported as of yet by Notch.

There is no code for Herobrine in the source, there is no texture for it in the JAR, and the JAR never downloads it from anywhere. It's fake, people who think otherwise are idiots.

note that hmod isn't discontinued, it's just not being updated by hey0 any more:

hMod was discontinued, this is a forked version of it, nothing more. And Bukkit is still exceedingly better and easier to use for even an amateur computer geek.

Look in the bukkit forums. Also look at http://bamboo.lukegb.com it has all the builds with a snapshot JAR download for each good build.
