    Many apologies for my protracted absence. I suffered a medical incident this past summer, and when all was said and done I had ended up so far in debt that Thaumic Horizons was the last thing on my mind. Now that the situation is largely stabilized I do plan to finish the pocket plane update. No promises yet on development beyond that, but stay tuned.

    In all honesty, I'm just stoked that you haven't dropped off the face of the earth :) But seriously, take your time. It's not like you're under some form of obligation to put the mod out (despite what some people seem to think), and no-one wants you getting sick/having other problems 'cause you push yourself too hard.

    Love the mod!

    The proposed changes do seem, on the face of it, going backwards in terms of what Azanor and others (myself admittedly included) have been saying for the last wee while. Whereas currently you either go hunting for stocks of rarer essentia or set up a time-consuming mana bean farm, the new system seems a bit like 'hurr durr throw dirt/stone/low effort to acquire material at this thing until I get what I want,' which has been the main argument against the many requests for a machine to combine essentia.

    That is, perhaps, a bit more blunt than was necessarily required, but I believe it gets the point across. Further, if you look through the thread there are countless posts complaining about how tedious the research system is. Adding in this new alchemy system with what appears to essentially be an increasingly complicated series of micro-crafting, all to get additional materials for our normal/infusion crafting seems like it is just adding unnecessary tedium to a process in getting items that people have been complaining about for months. If babysitting crucibles before you get automated alchemy in the current system is bad, this seems like taking a bigger step backwards.

    I would also agree with IStoneI in that the current alchemy system is both an interesting challenge, and really really fun. I get that this is Azanor's mod, and he can do whatever the heck he wants with it, but this almost feels like change for the sake of change, rather than any other particular reason.

    Looking back at this, I do want to apologise if I come across as blunt or on the nose, but I am just trying to put my thoughts into an easily-understandable manner.

    posted a message on Reasonable Realism - It's a pack, its a mod, it makes things hard! Updated for 1.11 and 1.12!

    Heya, not entirely sure if this is me screwing up or on the mods' side, but I'll ask anyway. With Thermal Foundation installed, I have been unable to find any copper or ferrous/nickel, and the veins of lead and tin that I have found have been made up of the Foundation-mod ores, not Reasonable Realism's. I thought maybe I was just being unlucky, so using Cofh-Core I deleted all the stone/dirt/gravel etc in test world, so that any ores would be left where they were, and had the same result - no copper/ferrous, and Thermal Foundation's tin and lead. Repeated the process multiple times, including flying around for half an hour using the searchblock command in Cofh-Core for the block id of both TF copper and RR copper, and no luck. Everything that is generating appears to be doing so in the sizes/shapes mentioned both in the thread and in the wiki, with veins and mother-lodes. Is this what's supposed to happen?

    [Edit] - The only thing that I'd changed when creating this world was in using the Realistic World Gen world-type, everything else was left as-is.

    [Double-Edit, Wooo!] - Further testing in a normal world produces the same results

    Using only the following;

    Reasonable Realism 1.7.0g,

    Custom Ore Gen 1.2.18,

    Cofh-Core 3.0.2-262,

    Thermal Foundation 1.0.0-81

    Realistic World Gen 1.3.2

    In the pic: Thermal Foundation Lead and Tin, Reasonable Realism versions of Iron, Gold and Diamond are either in shot or just out of sight.

    Here's two Word documents containing some ideas I've had, presented as Thauminomicon entries. (Click the link, then click "Open with" and choose Google Docs to view the comments I've put in, which give needed info that would not be contained in the Thauminomicon.)

    Essentia Tanks

    Essentia Refinery

    Ah, just so you know, Azanor has said multiple times that there will not be a method of combining essentia to create the more complex aspects, so that second idea is basically out. It would trivialise the production of intentionally hard-to-get aspects such as sano, especially considering you can get an infinite amount of all primals from a tree farm, making crafting benches. As for the other;

    Have you gotten far into Eldricth research? There is a higher-tier essentia storage in there, which stores the equivalent of four jars (256 points of essentia) in one block-space, and can hold multiple types of essentia within itself.

    i put up pics of my world, and nuked the pipe system (was in a superflat world to see why nothing woudl work, i literally got so mad i set up a nuke form IC2 and nuked it). And golems doesnt fix my issue of 1-2 extra essence after melting stuff down, ive nmoticed a bug with torchino where if i set up one jar attached to one alembic with say 30 cobblestones being melted down, ill end up with 40 or more essence. Ive also been told that golems carry 8 essence every time, so what am i suppsoed to do with the extra?

    We really can't meaningfully help if we can't see what your setup is. As to your other point, all you are telling us is you haven't even tried to use golems to move essentia around - an alchemy golem can hold up to their carry limit of essentia, so from a single point up to around eight, depending on the material of the golem. They are quite literally designed to be able to move around essentia when phials (which hold eight, and only eight essentia) aren't precise enough, or when the items you are boiling down don't divide nicely by eight.

    The pipe systems you seem so caught up on are designed to be mostly used for very specific builds - like powering a Lamp of Growth, or provoding material to one of the automated alchemy setups. Golems really are the best way to manage your essentia storage.

    If it's not too much of a hassle, could you guys update your mirror for the Gilded Games Util .jar? Currently links to v1.0, which has the crash bug, and MediaFire download for v1.5 doesn't appear to like me very much :/

    http://ythri.github.io/tcresearch/

    That website must not have updated with Thaumcraft - the latest (4.2.3.x?) update changed some aspect recipes, so the info you are getting from it is likely to be wrong. For the research you've got, I'd try Cognitio - Spiritus - Victus - Bestia - Humanus - Fabrico

    You are using an outdated version of Thaumcraft (4.2.1.3). The crash you are getting is fixed if you update to Forge 1224, Thaumcraft 4.2.1.4, and use the latest version of Thaumic Exploration with those.

    do anyone know how i create my own wand caps... i cant get it to work, have the item but it won't craft it to a wand (yes i am using an arcane workbench)

    I'm assuming you're trying to craft the wand cap with the wand itself, yes? If so, they no longer work like that. You want to have the wand in your hand, and the focus in your inventory. Press and hold 'F' and select the focus from the radial menu that pops up. Viola! Wand with cap!

    Also, seeing as this comes up every so often, you remove the cap from the wand by holding the wand in your hand and pressing 'Shift' and 'F' at the same time.

    Hello, smart question, how can u feed a Ritual with Reagents? I searched 1 Hour and dont find an answer.. :(

    Have a read of the first page - open the 'Items/Blocks' spoiler at the bottom of the first post, and at the end of that spoiler is the section on how to augment rituals with reagents
