All they did really was change the land formation and add a few new biomes. What's the big deal?

Just the facts of life. There will always be that guy who thinks Minecraft is ruined with each and every update.

If you'll actually learn how to read, you'll see that I'm complaining about people complaining about the new texture.

Easy, man. These forums are really getting to you.
I'm fairly sure he was actually posting a supportive statement to you. A 'backup' to your post, so to speak.

This is such an amazingly wonderful idea.

There has never been any reason to go far away from spawn (or your 'home base' if your spawn was no good). Pretty much every resource besides the ores and minerals can get easily generated, and only diamond has the distinction of being rare enough to have the possibility of needed to move away from your comfort zone (after a long period of heavy mining).

Minecraft has now been updated to 1.1.
    But, 1.1 has already existed.
    Has Notch thought about this?

Him and everyone else for the past few months.
Most people seem to have been able to cope with such a radical concept.

    Quote from Youssarian

Here's the thing. Minecraft is not in Alpha or Beta stage anymore. These are when you would expect frequent changes and updates - they are the periods when a game is in development. Now that it's full release, it makes sense that there would be a decline in updates. You don't hear about, I dunno, Skyrim or RuneScape being updated every couple of weeks, do you? That's because they're in the full release stage, where it is a bona fide game, not a game in development.

Minecraft is a completely different beast than, say, Skyrim (which has pretty much been updating every couple weeks, btw). It is no where near a 'completed' game, hell, I'm confident most would agree it shouldn't even be out of beta.

Minecraft will be in development for a long time, my friend.

    Quote from earzo7

So you blame the guy who made the best game ever for ruining it because you won't shut up about what you want? If you want something, get a mod, don't pressure them. Given time, it would have been better. It happens to all games- when the community grows, people start to complain, because we all love it, and expect great things from it. Notch could never have made the game if he was as bad as you said he is. Let him do the work, you bought the game because he made it awesome. Not because you did. Be quiet and let Mojang do the work. Were here to enjoy it. Not to ruin it trying to rush a cake in the oven.

If Notch was so incompetent, Minecraft wouldn't have ever been a good game.

Your fanboyism does you no credit; you speak of Notch as if he's the messiah of gaming. I'd say more but I'll leave my personal feelings about Notch out of this.

I may despise most of the complaints I've seen here but I'll be damned if I don't think they have a right as paying customers to want something more from what they purchased. If Notch wasn't aware of that he wouldn't have made the development process a public affair.

I am just not liking the full release. It should have been like alpha when this game had potential. I think it started falling when notch started using user mods to update the game...

    >potential
    >not wanting things to change
    I... what?

    Fantasy
    Survival
    Creative
    Boss battles?

These are not mutually exclusive, and in no way conflict with each other.

There is absolutely nothing about Macs that make them 'better' at audio/video editing.

For your uses, PC is the clear choice.
