I'm not sure you grasp the concept of a poll. - To post a comment, please login.

There has never been any reason to go far away from spawn (or your 'home base' if your spawn was no good). Pretty much every resource besides the ores and minerals can get easily generated, and only diamond has the distinction of being rare enough to have the possibility of needed to move away from your comfort zone (after a long period of heavy mining).

That is a computer problem, and it's only your problem to fix. Especially when you know exactly what the problem is.
Mojang can't fix your power cable, Mojang can't fix you letting your computer run out of power. Data corruption can easily occur when your PC is in the middle of writing data to the disk, this is has nothing to do with Minecraft.
The onus falls upon the user to make sure their computer is working properly.

Months is the plural form of month.
Meaning more than 1.
So yes, months is correct if you're describing an amount of months greater than 1.
Which the OP is.

Minecraft is a completely different beast than, say, Skyrim (which has pretty much been updating every couple weeks, btw). It is no where near a 'completed' game, hell, I'm confident most would agree it shouldn't even be out of beta.
Minecraft will be in development for a long time, my friend.

I... what?
These are not mutually exclusive, and in no way conflict with each other.

Or they're rightfully cautious about downloading a 'mod' posted by a new user who doesn't follow any of the Mods sub-forum rules.

For your uses, PC is the clear choice.

I like how you solved all of your problems with pre-releases in your last sentence.

Don't worry Xyzzy isn't an error in translation or random.

The entire point of having a sticky is to keep important information at the top so everyone can see it. Understandably when people ignore the stickies and post new threads that simultaneously contain already known information and push down other threads other users will get annoyed.
Forum and section rules are at the top of every forum page.
