However if i launch minecraft with its normal launcer after i have installed forge, and then close it down again, i can use Magic launcher again without problems.
And yes i know thers a "solution" for this, but that is not a solid solution ..
What i have gathered is that Magic Launcher does not download some required libraries when launching Minecraft with forge, which makes it crash. Something that vanilla minecraft launcher does. Which according to you is a solution. But if you ask me this is just a temp fix. Therefor i ask this..
When can we expect a fix for this? When will Magic Launcher be able to download required libraries ?
Section 5b. And, go back through the rest of the Help Post (especially Section 3) since you obviously did something wrong.
With the Magic Launcher can you automatically install resource packs as well?
You're thinking of the Curse Client. And, resource packs are actually "installed." I don't know of another launcher that will automatically download resource packs for you the same way the Curse Client does. The default launcher doesn't either.
It's not that hard to manually download a resource pack and place it in the "resourcepacks" folder yourself like you have to do with the default launcher.
If I try and put Steve's Carts 2 on the magic launcher it doesn't load and says "no mods found". I have forge installed. I tried putting the save SC2 version on the normal launcher and it worked, but I don't want to have to reinstall 20 mods. How do you fix this?
The Help Post, just fifteen posts above yours on the same page. Try Section 4b.
I've been trying to get mods installed using Magic Launcher for the past few days. I got my mods downloaded and I installed CodeChickenCore, NEI, and NEI plugins. They work perfectly fine. However, when I add certain mods (e.g. BiblioCraft, Thaumcraft 4, IC2 experimental, possibly others) it crashes. The other mods work fine without them. It is caused by a NullPointerException, but it's description is from some LanguageManager function.
This Appears when I start with a Forge minecraft (1.6.2).... What can I do?

simo_415 (mod author) released SinglePlayerCommands-1.6.2_V4.9. That version requires a \bin directory for placement of the WorldEdit.jar. Odds are very good the user will need to create it. Magic WILL NOT put the WE.jar in it.
q3hardcore (the guy doing 99% of all updates/improvements) released his own SinglePlayerCommands-1.6.2_V5.0dev2. That one needs the WE.jar added to *\.minecraft\mods\spc (created once SPC has been activated). Again Magic WILL NOT put it where it belongs.
MY SPC installation Instruction contains links and installation instructions for both versions.

Ah, Thanks!
Unfortunately, that makes things more confusing and complicated now that there are two variations of it. Thanks for the update! Could you maybe edit your post to also include links to the two separate discussion threads for them (assuming they're in separate discussion threads)?
That said I do have a question: you said it was possible to run spc for 6.2 with ML if I only loaded the right class into the launcher, do you recall which classes those are?
Okay, I need to clarify some things here which may be due to some of the terminology being used. However, I think LoRaM100 already addressed this a bit.
For SPC in Magic Launcher, you don't add any specific class file(s). You add the appropriate mod package for that edition of SPC that you need to use. Unless things have changed with SPC, the "one" SPC download package you get from the SPC thread is NOT the mod itself. Unlike other mod threads where the file you download is the mod itself, that is not the case with SPC. The SPC download actually contains more than one edition of the mod (in separate mod packages). If you extract/view the contents of the downloaded SPC file, you'll see the different editions inside of it. You need to extract the one you need if you haven't extracted it yet. THAT file is the actual "mod package" you add to Magic Launcher's Mod List.
Inside that actual mod package is its corresponding WorldEdit.jar file. THAT Specific File needs to go into that "bin" sub-folder (you may have to create the folder) in your Minecraft Installation Directory (not in Magic Launcher, although it doesn't hurt to leave a copy of it in the actual SPC Mod Package).
EDIT: Also see LoRaM100's reply the next post down.
Request: Have magiclauncher manage litemods too ( enabled or disabled ). I hate having to move the .litemod files when changing between versions. I want 1.6.2 litemods to work with 1.6.2 jar and 1.6.4 litemods work with 1.6.4 jar
I believe that may be a limitation of LiteLoader itself but I'm not sure. You may want to check in that thread. If you find out for sure, you could share what you found out here.
Regardless, one thing you can do is create separate copies of your whole ".minecraft" Minecraft Installation Directory. Then, use each separate copy for its own version. Use one copy of the installation directory for 1.6.2 for instance and another copy for 1.6.4. You just need to set up the Magic Launcher profile to point to the correct directory for that profile's version.
Help Post removed due to users like Clovis3321 and CobbleBoy considering it spam even though it is just like the Vogon_Captain posts at the top of every page of the Mystcraft thread.
A lot of the people that needed to see the helpful information (such sa solutions to common problems and updated setup instructions etc) ignored it anyhow. Those that did find it helpful didn't post anything saying so making it appear the Help Post was not needed.

CJB are the creators initial's the mod contains all of his mods we has created. The question is 1 mod requires 3 class files to be placed into the .jar file and I'm not sure if the jar can be modified or not.
Well, there is one way you should be able to test that. You can make a backup of your current Forge-modified version-specific Minecraft jar file (and it's corresponding ".json" file). Or, you could even backup your whole Minecraft installation directory. Then, you try modifying that Forge-modified version-specific Minecraft jar file by placing those specific class files directly into that jar file.
I don't know if there would be something that also needs to be done to the corresponding json file. I remember reading about some people using methods for getting things working that required doing extra steps by also modifying the json file. But, I don't know if that is because they didn't know of a simpler method for getting things working. So, I'm also curious to see if just modifying the jar file will work.
I'm surprised that it actually needs those files placed directly in that jar file. I would figure the worse case scenario for it would be that you'd have to place a mod in the core mods folder instead. Or, like SPC, dropping a file into Minecraft's bin folder. What is that one mod that is saying it needs to have class files placed directly into the jar? Any chance it's the "Minecraft Comes Alive" mod? That mod always (last I checked anyhow) had some complicated steps to get working.
I have 24 mods running at this time thanks to you and your help.
Just 2 mods I really need are causing me a headache SPC and CJB's mods other than that life is fine. Just can't use the world edit to clear and build as fast as I like and some of the cheats that come in handy at times. I'm always in peaceful mode anyway.
Just got to chill out for a while and wait form them to be updated or fixed.
I know SPC has apparently not yet been updated to support Minecraft 1.6.4 (still only for 1.6.2 last I checked). But, SPC is actually pretty easy to get working with Magic Launcher. You just have to extract the correct mod package from the file you download from that thread since the downloaded file is not the mod itself. Instead, it's a file containing different packages for each of the different editions of the mod. Once you extract the one you want/need, you add that to the Mods List in Magic Launcher. But, you need to go one further step by extracting that WorldEdit.jar file from that correct mod package and dropping that WorldEdit.jar file directly into your Minecraft installation directory's bin folder. Oh yeah, and since that "bin" folder is no longer created by default, you have to first manually create that bin folder itself.
However, if you're running a lot of mods, there is that possibility you may run into some mod conflict. But, that's also one of the reason's you add the mod to the Mods List in Magic Launcher so you can move the mod up or down and possibly see if there are any new mod errors that pop up.
There may also be an updated alternative to SPC that can be used instead until it is updated.
... either way it is not stated anywhere that it teaches you how to insert spoilers, ...
Again, if you can't figure out how to use spoiler tags from the examples given, that says more about you than anyone else. Most people don't need things described to them in excruciating detail. And, it's write there in the open so people don't have to go looking for it. What, you want some kind of flashing graphic to call attention to just that? Here's a novel idea. How about just starting by looking through the Help Post to begin with? Focusing primarily on "how to use spoiler tags" is not within the main scope of this thread anyhow. Try staying on topic and being happen examples are given in the first place.
You need to explain to people why they should do things
Okay, you should eat so you don't starve to death. Did that really need an explanation? Or, did that just waste space? Granted, people like you would probably also skip any additional explanations too since the main information provided was skipped in the first place. Providing additional detailed explanations or reasons would serve no extra purpose and actually probably become discouraging to people that actually do read the Help Post.
... some people might think you're going to break their computer ...
Then they shouldn't even be modding in the first place if they think that's a possibility from doing any of the things listed the Help Post (which they probably didn't view in the first place).
and some people would just not do it because they have no reason to,
It's not completely about them. It's about providing the appropriate information for anyone that might consider helping them. And, as also stated in the Help Post but I guess you somehow missed that too, too much information is better than not enough. And, way too often, providing extra information and/or performing extra steps does serve a purpose regardless of thinking there is no reason to it.
I said that I didn't include the mods tab because of the fact that There where absolutely no mods installed, ...
Try reading it again. Or, reading it in the first place. There are other screens too. In fact, in the part you quoted from me, I explicitly stated the "Advanced" Tab (NOT the "Mods" Tab). The ... "Advanced" ... Tab.
... and you need to learn not to insult people in posts, even if it is by accident.
I don't insult people. Although, in my process of providing help, I may use people as examples to help others by showing them what someone shouldn't do or what should have been done. Therefore, it stays helpful to the cause and serves a purpose in this thread while managing to remain on topic since it relates to helping people get Magic Launcher set up and for helping them fix issues. Granted, it is a bonus to also get to have fun pointing out other people's fallacies at the same time and keeps this thread entertaining.
Side Note: I think SeansanAstrail was legitimately trying to offer you additional help. But, if this is how you treat people that are legitimately trying to help you, it should be no surprise at the type of reactions you get from those people.
There's no need to take screenshots or anything because I'm not even using any damn mods.
Not even of other screens like the "Advanced" Tab showing the additional settings (like "Parameters") for that particular Magic Launcher profile? Oh, I thought you were having problems getting Magic Launcher to work correctly. I guess you're saying that all settings are fine and everything is working right after all since you don't need to show what the settings are etc. I thought you asked for help. I guess I didn't need to waste my time trying to help where there was obviously no problem after all. Looks like I could/should have just ignored your previous posts then.
Oh, and as I explained about the Help Post before, it's not just about what information to provide but also steps you can and should take before asking for help.
Trying to install the mod CJB 1.6.4 Forge which to use the x-ray function several class files most be added to the jar file. I guess the mods go directly into the mod folder instead of loading them with ML.
Unfortunately, I think that starts going a bit beyond the scope of this thread for various reasons.
I'm also personally not familiar with any specific mod "pack" like the CJB Mod Pack. I had to do some searching to figure out what this "CJB Mod" you mentioned was. I'm still not sure if CJB stands for anything in particular or is just the pack's creator's initials or something.
I can say that you should be able to find all the mods separately that are normally included in any particular mod pack. In fact, you may also be able to find a zipped version of that mod pack and extract all of the individual mods directly. Or, sometimes a mod pack may have an installer that also has an option to extract one or more of the mods as opposed to only installing them. The problem is that mod packs have usually been pre-configured in certain ways to prevent conflicts between the mods mainly with things like block and item IDs. So, they should also have configuration files for each of the mods that have them as included in that particular mod pack. But, that just means you would have to do some extra work yourself to make sure there are no conflicts.
Without knowing what any particular mod's setup instructions are for it normally, regardless of whether or not it came from a mod pack, it's kind of impossible to say what exactly needs to be done for those specific cases. However, you still shouldn't have to install any class files directly into the forge-modified version-specific Minecraft jar file unless there are actual specific instructions for that specific mod to do exactly that with a good explanation of why to do that. You should be able to load the mod normally by adding it to Magic Launcher's primary Mods List or adding it to the mods folder if needed.
On a different note, I saw you post elsewhere about the Single-Player Commands Mod. Check Section 4b of the Help Post for "No Mods Found" (under "Common Problems") and maybe also specifically for Single-Player Commands under the the specific mod problems section in that same area.
i cant download forge in here when i put forge in mclauncher then open minecraft.....BAM!! it crashes!!! --__--
any reasons why or is forge not compatible??
Only ... TWO ... Posts ... Directly ... Above ... Yours.
All that posts references is your guidelines which pertains to asking for help.
Then you obviously can't read because there is a LOT more to that. Looks like you jumped to bottom section 5 and skipped all of the other sections. I even numbered the different sections to illustrate there are ... wait for it ... different sections. You know, like a setup instructions section and other sections addressing problems you might have run into and steps you should first take etc. If you can't read that, there is no sense for me to try and personally help you further.
Btw, I've gotten this to work in the past, But I haven't played minecraft for about a year or 2.
For one thing, a lot can change in a year. Like the new default launcher that came out for Minecraft. Meaning setup instructions are probably different. Now, if there was only a place to find setup instructions ... like in the Help Post. Or, remind me again, was that only for guidelines for asking for help?
I REALLY MISS the organization of watched forums being SORTED BY TOPIC like before.
AND, I miss that all of my watched forums (again, previously sorted into sections by topic) used to be ALL ON ONE PAGE that I could quickly scroll through.
I also HATE that it seems the only way to see all my previously watched forums are by the most recent rather than in a specific order like they were before.
While the first pic does show the new lighting, My guess is that the "second" thing (in that first pic) is not only that the chest opens (with the lock extending down) but that the lock itself is actually protrubing just like the new pig snouts.
The drop mechanism can be made much simpler. Instead of pushing all of the sand or gravel blocks out and then opening a space to drop one, just push only the bottom one out for the row you want. It drops, the piston retracts and is automatically reset. May have to make my own to show what I mean.
It's actually not that impressive. It's basically just a self-building bridge/wall being loaded with the correctly-colored cubes in the correct order to make the picture. In fact, the picture has to be already assembled in reverse order underneath the ground so that it could actually feed it up and fill the picture in using the correct order.
Ah, seems it's my Internet Explorer at the moment. Not sure why. Anywhere else on here works fine. Switched to Chrome to post this.

A lot of the people that needed to see the helpful information (such sa solutions to common problems and updated setup instructions etc) ignored it anyhow. Those that did find it helpful didn't post anything saying so making it appear the Help Post was not needed.
Gone are the list of solutions to common problems, updated setup instructions, and other helpful information.

Then they shouldn't even be modding in the first place if they think that's a possibility from doing any of the things listed the Help Post (which they probably didn't view in the first place).
Try reading it again. Or, reading it in the first place. There are other screens too. In fact, in the part you quoted from me, I explicitly stated the "Advanced" Tab (NOT the "Mods" Tab). The ... "Advanced" ... Tab.
At least you got that part right. Remember, you're the one asking for help. Wouldn't it be simpler to just provide information in the first place?

No. And, see above.
For one thing, a lot can change in a year. Like the new default launcher that came out for Minecraft. Meaning setup instructions are probably different. Now, if there was only a place to find setup instructions ... like in the Help Post. Or, remind me again, was that only for guidelines for asking for help?
