I can not find the links or anything. Please tell me how to fix this, it used to work perfectly. Now ever sinced I upgraded to 1.1.7 it does not work
The 27th post up from your original post had links. Or, you could have just went to the 85th post up from your original post like I first listed. It was mainly the second link in that post 27 up from yours. Along with what was in the spoiler (what the link went to).
Did you try the additional parameter? Did you check your memory allocation setting? Did you try adding mods one at a time? Did you try putting problem mods in externally by putting those specific mods in the mods sub-folder of your Minecraft installation directory instead?
How about providing information? You know, like answers to the above questions and also things like your system specs and Magic Launcher settings and screenshots of your "mods" and "advanced" tabs in your setup screen in Magic Launcher? Error logs? Steps you might have already taken to try and solve your problems? Etc?
People (in general), if you're going to ask for help, you should always provide as much information as possible FIRST. Helpers should not have to first ask every single time the same questions of people over and over again. If there is something you feel may be asked, provide that information first. It's simple, these are standard questions that are going to be asked by everyone. Think first. Look at some other posts and see what has been asked of them too! In fact, you may even find your solution from that alone!
Here's an example stupid conversation that seems all too standard:

Have you updated Java (both the 32-bit and 64-bit editions if you're on a 64-bit operating system)?"
There is NO reason that anyone should have to ask at least some of those same questions again and again before finally being able to provide actual help. If you can't provide this BASIC information, you might not get any help.
can you make it so you can play on lan worlds with magic launcher?
You already can. It has never been an issue with Magic Launcher (or any other launcher, including the default launcher) because it has nothing to do with the launcher. Playing multiplayer (on a server or as part of a LAN), or even single player for that matter, is completely independent of the launcher used regardless of whether or not it is the built-in default Minecraft launcher, Magic Launcher, or some other alternative launcher. You choose that stuff when you're logged into the game itself as always.
I can't seem to log on because the Session Server and Login Servers are offline
Did you really need to ask that? Doesn't that sort of answer itself? Wait 30 mins and try again. If still no luck, wait another 30 mins and try again etc. You also could have checked this by trying to log in with the default launcher temporarily.
Hey sp614x. I found an error when I was logging into Minecraft.
This is the message I got:
java.runtime.version: 1.6.0_37-b06
java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\Users\Jaden\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\versions\1.6.2-Forge9.10.0.804\1.6.2-Forge9.10.0.804.json (The system cannot find the file specified)
Did you actually confirm that the file was in that folder location? Did it work before?
Look at the other errors. The login servers are obviously down at the moment. Error 503 is a "Service Unavailable" or "Service Temporarily Unavailable" error.
Or, maybe start with the 80th ... or the 78th ... or the 45th ... or the 27th ... or the 25th ... or the 13th ... or the 11th ... or the 3rd. There's a link or two in at least some of those previous posts.
As of the new 1.6 launcher, Magic Launcher isn't really needed, unless you want simple texture packs and modding it's alright.
Keep up the good work!
What on Earth are you talking about? Magic Launcher, as with ANY alternative launcher, was never "needed." They're all just better launchers than the built-in default launcher that comes with Minecraft itself. Unlike the built-in default launcher that comes with Minecraft itself, alternative launchers such as Magic Launcher are about easier mod management etc. In the case of Magic Launcher, you can also choose the specific load order of mods.
They also have nothing to do with texture/resource packs so you are clearly uninformed as to what a "launcher" is. Again, alternative launchers are "tools" rather than "mods" ("modifications"). You can still use whatever texture/resource pack you want. It has NOTHING to do with any launcher including Magic Launcher.
im confused? i can play 1.6.4 with magic, but do i have to wait till forge 1.6.4 version comes out before i can start adding my mods again?? and also wait for all mods to be updated? sorry noob here
That's not really a question about Magic Launcher but I'll address it anyway.
Depending on the changes Mojang makes to Minecraft itself from one version to the next, a mod may or may not work with that new version. Forge itself may, and probably will, need updating to work with the new version of Minecraft but it also depends on the changes to Minecraft itself. Most mods (not all) rely on Forge so the key factor there depends on Forge being updated if it needs to be (again, which it probably does each time although not guaranteed). If Forge does need updating, that does not necessarily mean that the mod itself also needs updating but it probably does. In which case, that particular mod needs to be updated to work with the newer version of Minecraft.
In any case, since Magic Launcher is NOT a "mod" ("modification"), it does NOT need updating like mods do whenever a new version of Minecraft comes out. If a new version of the built-in default Minecraft "launcher" comes out (like it did in the process of Minecraft 1.6.2 also coming out), then Magic Launcher (as with any alternative launcher) may need updated at that time. The default launcher has its own version number but I don't know what that happens to be at any time.
I try to get my roaming, but I can't. I then try to launch it with a clean version and this is what I get.

Twenty-one posts above yours. Maybe start with just seven posts above yours.
There is no need to. Magic Launcher isn't a "Mod" (Modifiction). Magic Launcher is an Alternative Launcher and Mod Manager. So, it already works with it. If the default Minecraft "Launcher" gets updated like it did when going to Minecraft Version 1.6.2 (the launcher itself actually has its own version number but I don't remember what that is), then Magic Launcher may need to be updated at that time too.
The following assumes you're using the same default Minecraft installation directory.
First, run Minecraft once using the Default Minecraft Launcher. This will allow Minecraft to get the new version downloaded and set up.
Then, back in Magic Launcher, select the new Environment for the updated version on the setup screen. This should automatically grab the correct version-specific Minecraft jar file for you otherwise you'll have to also select that at the same time.
The only oddity is Magic nor any launcher/patcher I've seen puts the WorldEdit.jar in the correct place.
Well, that only makes sense to me and I wouldn't really call it an oddity or whatever. No launcher/patcher has any way of knowing where to automatically place specific files that have a special or different location to be placed unless there were a specific feature added to the tool (such as Magic Launcher) to be able to use some configuration/setup file that mod makers could then start including in their mod downloads that would give special instructions for those specific files. However, that's usually not an issue so I do not think it would be worth the time or effort to implement said feature.
In the case of mods such as Single Player Commands (SPC), it's not even really an issue of the launcher/patcher not knowing where to place that WorldEdit.jar file but rather limitations in location references in the program code itself for these mods. And, sometimes that is a limitation in the code of Minecraft or an API itself rather than the mod.
Good reply on your part, and it's my fault, I should have used the word research instead of ask. The R word got me put in the corner, be careful. I like "look" may I utilize it?

LOL. Fine with me if you use the word "Look" for it.
I must have had a senior moment, I asked mrkorb to repost what he'd posted here.
In the SPC thread, page 1442, post 28834 http://www.minecraft...0#entry23955905
Oooohhh, another good post from what I can tell from a quick look. Yeah, that one appears to be nice and comprehensive for Single Player Commands (SPC). After all, it is actually in that thread too. But, it appears nice and detailed and even indicated something i didn't know (about the "bin" folder no longer being there by default I guess) since I haven't done a clean install to my default ".minecraft" installation directory. I'm actually planning on doing that since I also want to check a couple of other things.
Guide: Using Magic Launcher with Forge ModLoader, LiteLoader, Optifine, and Magic Launcher (no jar modifications)
First time users of minecraft should check out this thread in order to get a full understanding in how to install mods thus using a custom launcher. | By: 4o66
I had seen that forum before (along with others sort of similar to it). But, I hadn't looked through it that closely because it appeared to address other areas I wasn't concerned about at the time. I just took a bit of a closer look right now and it's actually nice and comprehensive from what I can tell so far. Nice.
There are a couple of small concerns I have with it though. The "No Jar Modification Required" statement is a little misleading in my opinion since the Forge/LiteLoader installers do appear to modify a copy of the default jar file for that particular version. It may be doing it automatic and I believe you're primarily referring to there being no requirement to manually modify any jar files but that doesn't see technically accurate. However, at the same time, I can see it actually making it less confusing to people by just referring to it that way based on it being done automatically and since it is its own copy.
The other thing was the section you refer to the "Mojang" Launcher. It threw me off at first because I was originally scanning it really quickly. So, my brain processed it as "Magic" Launcher instead at the time and I somehow missed the red line stating it's not necessary if you are using Magic Launcher instead. So, for me personally at least, I'd have liked to have seen it actually say "Default" Launcher for that section. But, that can probably be chalked up to personal preference.
I'll have to take an even closer read at it eventually.
I was told to go here, to ask for instructions on how to install SPC through MagicLauncher.
This is using 1.6.2, latest MagicLauncher version.
Fourteenth post (second to last paragraph in that post's reply), and also the first post, above yours. And, you should have been told to come "look" here first rather than just ask. Also, as previously stated, Magic Launcher doesn't "install" mods--it "loads" them.
A search of this thread for "SPC" (in the search bar on top of every page of this thread) might have also helped.
Note, that one post I reference might actually be only thirteen posts up from yours if the post someone made in the wrong thread here (asking pixelmon mod questions) is removed by a moderator.
Here are basic steps that I used to get Forge to easily work with Magic Launcher without needing a special third-party installer to get Forge to work with Magic Launcher. One of these steps is needed for "OptiFine" to also work with Forge and Magic Launcher at the same time (adding the specific parameter).
Install Forge using its client installer. It is fine if you have Minecraft installed to a different folder than its default. Just be sure to select the new location. Do the same for any multiple folder setups you may have of course.
You "may" have to try starting the default Minecraft Launcher once. If using a folder other than the default installation folder, you will want to make sure it is also set up to load from the new folder location.
In Magic Launcher, add OptiFine to the list of internal mods by selecting it from the folder location you have it stored in. Do not just drop it into the "mods" sub-folder of your Minecraft installation folder. This is mainly because you want to be able to easily choose the mod load order and OptiFine should always be LAST in the list unless otherwise specified by the mod (and there are only a few rare exceptions). Optionally, you can complete these steps after completing the other following important steps first if you choose.
IMPORTANT: In Magic Launcher, under "Setup" for the mod profile you created (with OptiFine listed), select "Forge" Profile (according to the version of Forge you have installed which will be listed directly after the Minecraft Version) from the drop-down box for the "Environment" field.
IMPORTANT: In Magic Launcher, under "Setup" for the mod profile you created (with OptiFine listed), select the modified minecraft.jar file that is listed in the Forge sub-folder under the "Versions" sub-folder of your Minecraft installation directory. This is the modified copy of the minecraft.jar file that Forge made and placed here when you ran the Forge client installer. The filename of this modified copy of the minecraft.jar file should include its Forge Version in the new name of this modified copy of the minecraft.jar file just following the version of Minecraft it is for.
IMPORTANT: In Magic Launcher, under "Setup" for the mod profile you created (with OptiFine listed), add the following line to the "Parameters" field under the Advanced Tab:
Step #4: Select the new Forge "Environment" from the drop-down box of the "Environment" field on that setup page.
Step #5: Browse to the "Versions" sub-folder of your Minecraft installation directory and select the jar file for the Forge profile listed there. Such as, 1.6.2-Forge-WhateverForgeVersionIsBeingUsed.jar.
The forge installer basically creates a copy of the original minecraft.jar file and places its new modified version (with the Forge files installed in it) in a separate "Versions" folder inside your Minecraft installation directory. When it does this, it renames it to the version of Minecraft it is and appends its Forge Version to the filename. You have to select that Forge-Modified version of the minecraft.jar file. Otherwise, you're still using an unmodified minecraft.jar file. But, you also need to select the corresponding "Environment" as listed in Step #4.
Did you try the additional parameter? Did you check your memory allocation setting? Did you try adding mods one at a time? Did you try putting problem mods in externally by putting those specific mods in the mods sub-folder of your Minecraft installation directory instead?

I updated the game to 1.6.2 by downloading the launcher from Minecraft.net. Was able to load a plain game as version 1.6.2.
I found how to use the new launcher to load the game as an old version, which I did & worked, and that gave me a subfolder in /versions for 1.5.2.
Exactly. And, that 1.5.2 sub-folder and its corresponding version-specific jar file is the environment you should select when setting up a profile in Magic Launcher to work with Version 1.5.2. For other versions, you select their appropriate version-specific folder and jar file.
This is basically the same exact thing as when I mentioned creating your own separate folders for each version of Minecraft (copying its whole ".minecraft" installation directory over) except it only stores the version-specific copy of the jar file (and a corresponding ".json" file in this case) needed for the game since it shares all of the rest of the files from the same base folder. Of course, that brings up the issue of possibly accidentally sharing version-specific saved worlds and texture/resource packs etc across versions which is one of the reasons why it may still be a good idea to have your own separate folders with the whole copy of the .minecraft installation directory in it. Before Minecraft's new "version" system, that is how you had to do it if you wanted to keep separate versions to play. Different folders for different versions. That simple. Creating your own "version" folders (with a copy of that version's whole ".minecraft" installation directory) lets you also keep world saves and texture/resource packs etc completely separate. And, that is still a viable option. Especially, since Minecraft's new "version" system doesn't keep version-specific world saves and texture/resource packs separate. It can also be an issue for those mods that are dropped in the "mods" folder especially if you're not using an alternative launcher to specify mod profiles like you do in Magic Launcher.
However, you do NOT need to run the Forge installer on previous versions. You can use the "Universal" one for those. How exactly did you get the Forge installer to also work on the previous versions of Minecraft such as for Version 1.5.2 as you mentioned?
Then I went to install Forge. I downloaded the Forge installer for 1.6.2, and followed the instructions in the accompanying YouTube video for how to install it. (I'm glad that someone commented on Youtube about how to r-click on the jar file & "open with" Java Platform, because no one else said that & I never would've figured it out on my own). I then ran the Forge installer, & it appeared to work. I now have a /versions subfolder called "1.6.2-Forge9.10.0.804" too.
... <snip> ...
Then I realized... I don't have a /versions subfolder for 1.5.2 w/ Forge. The Forge Client Installer ONLY installed it for 1.6.2. There is no Client Installer for Forge versions pre-1.6. I have NO CLUE how to install version 1.5.2 WITH FORGE that I can use for a MagicLauncher profile in which to load/manage my other mods so I can play my SP world.
How do I do this? What am I missing? Who am I? Where are you taking me? MY BRAIN IS EATING A TREE AAAAAAARRRRRRGGGHHH!!!!!
Time to clarify some things.
IMPORTANT:
For versions of Minecraft previous to version 1.6.2, you do NOT need to use the Forge client installer. Instead, you use a copy of the Forge "Universal" download and add it to your mods list like any other mod. This is how you originally used to load Forge with Magic Launcher. The "Universal" Forge no longer works this way with Minecraft 1.6.2+.
Another "minor" side note, both "Magic Launcher" and "Smart Moving" are two separate words each.
I got SmartMoving because I needed a mod that would let me increase my character's movement speed. I have some physical disabilities, and having to hold down buttons (such as WASD) for long periods of time causes me a lot of pain.
I'm glad you said something because you have additional options other than using the Smart Moving mod. One option may be the "Macro/Keybind" mod that let's you set up keyboard commands and configurations etc. But, you also have NON-mod options. What version of Windows are you running? Windows has always had some sort of built-in "Sticky Keys" functionality that you can turn on or off. In fact, back in Windows 98 it annoying because it was so easy to accidentally enable unless you went it and told it not to be available. In Windows 7, for instance, you can go to the "Ease of Access Center" (under the Control Panel) and choose the section for making the keyboard easier to use. You can also set it up so you can enable/disable this feature quickly whenever you want so that it's not always on for everything at all times.
In my world, I have bases set up all over the place, some of which are long distance from my main base, and travelling from one place to another could require holding down W for a couple minutes (while also frequently pressing spacebar and A/D get around bumps & curves in terrain).
See above. But, for single-player worlds at least, you do also have another option of maybe using something like Single Player Commands (SPC) to set up Waypoints that you can TELEPORT to. Just pointing out that there may be additional options available to you including in SPC which I know you stopped using for other reasons you mentioned. But, just so you know, it is compatible with Forge.
I went there, and looked at the files, and got worried because there's no Installer offered with the 1.5.2 versions. Then I realized "whoops, I'm no supposed to be getting an installer for the same Forge version as I have, but am needing the one for 1.6.2, duh!" *SMH* I am a giddy goat.
Yeah. However, when using the same installation folder for playing different versions of Minecraft, another thing you have to remember is to NOT use the "Classic" Environment for previous versions. Instead, just like you selected the version-specific environment for 1.6.2, do the same for any previous version and make it point to that version-specific jar file instead of the previous "minecraft.jar" file that is in the root of the "bin" folder.
Anyway, here's a screenshot of my MagicLauncher setup, which shows all the mods I've been using for my SP world in 1.5.2. (I meant to put this in my post yesterday but I forgot.)
Like I stated above, do NOT use the "Classic" environment and the previous "minecraft.jar" file as it used to be stored in the root of the "bin" folder. Instead, just like you select a separate environment and version-specific jar file for 1.6.2 (and/or for Forge's 1.6.2), select the version-specific environment and jar file for the corresponding previous version of Minecraft. This should just make sense on its own.
In the case of 1.5.2, you would select the 1.5.2 environment and its corresponding version-specific jar file from its versions' sub-folder. For Forge with versions of Minecraft previous to 1.6.2, you just add the "Universal" edition of Forge to the mods list like you did. Ignore any errors it lists for it.
Side note, you forgot to put image tags around the link to your image so it didn't display properly. I fixed it in my quote of it above.
But I will follow your previous advice of moving OptFine to the bottom of the list, if ML doesn't show me any errors/conflicts from doing so.
General rule of thumb: Forge (OR ModLoader) should always be loaded FIRST. OptiFine, unless otherwise stated specifically by the mod you're trying to add or you run into incompatibility issues or errors you can't take care of another way, should always be loaded LAST. At least, always start by trying OptiFine last and then go from there. Forge will most always be listed first for versions of Minecraft previous to 1.6.2. For 1.6.2+, Forge won't even be in the list because you'll be using the Forge-created environment (and its corresponding modified jar file) instead.
So I'm testing out Magic Launcher using Forge and Jammy Furniture. When I click OK, Minecraft runs normally and Jammy Furniture isn't there. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
It's because you're trying to use Forge the way you used it previous to Version 1.6.2 of Minecraft. With 1.6.2+, you now have to use its client installer instead to first create a new additional Forge environment for that particular version (and future versions). For 1.6.2+, you no longer add Forge to the mods list. You just select its new environment. In this case, after running the installer, it will create a new 1.6.2-ForgeWithForgeVersionNumber.jar file you have to select. You will have to run the default launcher once after running the Forge client installer. Then, in Magic Launcher, you will be able to select that new Forge environment and its corresponding jar file.
If you still wish to also run previous versions of Minecraft such as for 1.5.2, you would select the "1.5.2" environment (not "classic") and its corresponding jar file.
I REALLY MISS the organization of watched forums being SORTED BY TOPIC like before.
AND, I miss that all of my watched forums (again, previously sorted into sections by topic) used to be ALL ON ONE PAGE that I could quickly scroll through.
I also HATE that it seems the only way to see all my previously watched forums are by the most recent rather than in a specific order like they were before.
While the first pic does show the new lighting, My guess is that the "second" thing (in that first pic) is not only that the chest opens (with the lock extending down) but that the lock itself is actually protrubing just like the new pig snouts.
The drop mechanism can be made much simpler. Instead of pushing all of the sand or gravel blocks out and then opening a space to drop one, just push only the bottom one out for the row you want. It drops, the piston retracts and is automatically reset. May have to make my own to show what I mean.
It's actually not that impressive. It's basically just a self-building bridge/wall being loaded with the correctly-colored cubes in the correct order to make the picture. In fact, the picture has to be already assembled in reverse order underneath the ground so that it could actually feed it up and fill the picture in using the correct order.

LOL. Fine with me if you use the word "Look" for it.

Time to clarify some things.
IMPORTANT:
For versions of Minecraft previous to version 1.6.2, you do NOT need to use the Forge client installer. Instead, you use a copy of the Forge "Universal" download and add it to your mods list like any other mod. This is how you originally used to load Forge with Magic Launcher. The "Universal" Forge no longer works this way with Minecraft 1.6.2+.
Another "minor" side note, both "Magic Launcher" and "Smart Moving" are two separate words each.

1
