Maybe Event Horizon is the exact point at which bedrock stops and the Void begins.

So when we fly back up in creative mode... we're going faster than light? Ha! I knew that technology would exist one day :D

Food is vital in survival, which I think a lot of people kind of neglect.

In addition to your hunger bar, you have what's known as saturation, which acts kind of like additional, invisible hunger points. Food items like cooked pork, cooked beef, cooked mutton or cooked fish fills up more saturation than items like carrots, breads or potatoes. Raw food, of course, usually fill the least saturation. All this saturation thing is in addition and independent to the hunger drumstick points you see on the screen.

Why I think food is important is because your health regenerates very quickly when your hunger and saturation are full, which can really save your life at times. So yeah, I often start a wheat farm and round up animals as soon as possible to secure a more-than enough source of food. When you have that, the rest becomes much easier as you can regenerate health quickly by just filling up your hunger bar.
