okay well no one helped me on my first post.
    cool.
anyways, if you did read that, i tried a third solution.
i installed optifine and then compressed my minecraft.jar again
so that it was no longer a folder and now like the rest of the .jar's
and then i used the installer and nothing installed
    even though it said complete.

this message was in the log:

I'm not entirely sure if this has been posted already or not but i dont feel like reading 227 pages of posts.
    so here's my problem.

    you say install optifine, right?
so for me, for some reason, the glsl installer only installs for me if my minecraft.jar is unpacked.
so i can't really install optifine.

    but that's just half.
i figured, okay, well after i install the GLSL shaders, i'll just unpack it, and put the shader files for sonic ether's
shader into my shaders folder and then install optifine.
so after i installed all the shaders and unpacked it and put in sonic ethers files into the shaders folder,
i started up minecraft and i saw it. it looks beautiful by the way.
    i was amazed,
and then i closed out and installed optifine and when i started back up again,
    it was all vanilla shades.
that is to say, none of the shader worked for me,
    no wavy grass,
    no awesome shadows,
it was all just normal as if i never installed the GLSL shaders and sonic ether's.
and i know what it looks like cause the shaders worked prior to installing optifine.
and i can't seem to install optifine before i install GLSL shaders due to
my GLSL shaders requires that my Minecraft.jar is unpacked and in its original state.

any help will be appreciated, because i just want to use optifine to bring up my fps again.
