I'm 14 and I'm writing my own custom Minecraft launcher completely from scratch in C# and WPF. I've coded multiple Bukkit plugins and I am an admin on two major servers and run my own server with custom-developed plugins. Now tell me more about how you can't do anything because you're 13.
Okay, serious answer time.
You'll want a plugin called WorldGuard which lets you define regions to protect. You'll also want to set up HawkEye or a similar plugin to log the players who make changes to certain blocks so that when you do get griefed you'll be able to tell who did it. These plugins are pretty easy to learn, but HawkEye can be a little hard to set up. Also, /ban is a wonderful command.
Nononono! While WorldGuard is great for protection and I agree he should get it, I'd say you might want to go with CoreProtect for logging griefers, as with Hawkeye, there's an exploit in which griefers can simply plant trees and mess up the rollbacks. CoreProtect also has worldedit logging, in case an admin goes nuts and decides to have a field day with Worldedit and ruin your server.
I have no idea what's causing this or how to fix it, but my console is getting flooded with "<insert IP here> lost connection." messages. These can range from 1-100+ lines long. I asked my friend, and he thinks my server is being DDOS'd. If that is true, I'd love to know how to stop this and if that's not the case, I'd still love to find out why I'm receiving these warnings.

It always happens when I open my inventory (never happened until I installed TooManyItems) and it just says saving chunks and then crashes.
