And I don't know if this can be done... You know when you put two bits of glass together and look through both of them, the second one is invisible. Is it possible to do that with glass and your glowing glass? It works glowing glass>glass but not glass>glowing glass. Sorry I forgot the proper name for your glowing glass.

I feel bad for making suggestions and stuff but I do like it and hopefully this will make it better so all's well that ends well...

Also, if you're looking for ideas, how about some kind of spike trap? Bottom half is a mesh that items can fall through, top half is metal spikes. Mob falls into trap, dies on spikes, items fall underneath for easy collection. And maybe some kind of material only mobs can fall through for the top? Maybe:

S S S

S is stick, R is redstone

And for the spikes:

I I I
S S S

O is nothing, I is iron ingot, S is stick

So the complete trap would be like this:

########TD#####
########Sp#####
TUNNEL TO #####
YOUR HOUSE#####
###############

# is dirt/sand/whatever
TD is trap door (mob only one)
Sp is the spikes thing
And the hole is a tunnel to your house

Sorry for bad pic, it's kinda hard when you can't have multiple spaces and stuff. Hope you get the idea anyway though
